WILD BILL CUTOLO'S MOST FEARED KILLER - WHY DID CHICKIE DEMARTINO WANT TO KILL JOE CAMPANELLA?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 лют 2022
- Before Colombo Family powerhouse Wild Bill Cutolo was murdered, he had once been a Captain of a crew which was feared throughout the American Mafia. Especially during the 3rd Colombo War between Vic Orena and Carmine Persico. Perhaps the most member of Wild Bill's crew was mobster Vincent "Chickie" DeMartino.
This Mafia History video takes a quick look at DeMartino and explores why he wanted to murder one of his old pals and crew mates - Joseph Campanella.
This American Mafia Documentary features Cosa Nostra gangsters including - Carmine Persico, Vic Orena, Allie Boy Perisco, Frankie Notch Iannaci, Joe Colombo Jr, Greg Scarpa. Carmine Sessa and many more
ADDITIONAL - Joe Campanella kept quiet about the shooting until he was arrested on extortion charges a year later in 2002 - it was then that he became a Government Witness.
SMH. Same ol song.!! After all the sht they do ,the audacity to try and cut a deal is comical , in my very humble, slightly educated opinion.. Everyone's a gangsta until the FBI comes knocking! SMH.

Very kind of you to say. Glad you enjoyed it.
Agreed
Amazing how much greed has destroyed the mob. Money supersedes the rules and everything crumbles.
this live was always only about the money
I really appreciate the research and time you put into your videos. Incredible information. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Jim. Glad you are finding the videos interesting.
Thanks, OC. Fascinating, as always!
The 3rd Colombo war was insane.
Crazy times. Glad you enjoyed it.
Another great video OC. Love how you give us so much detail. I'm sure i speak for all your subscribers when i say thank you for all the information you give us.
Thanks Mike. I'm glad you are finding the videos interesting. Thanks for your support.
I just had to chime in with the other Fans of this channel and let you know just how much these videos mean to us all! The research and chronical note taking with Dates, Names and instances of what was going on really helps even a knucklehead like me to Connect The Dots! On a side note, I could not fathom how some of these "Wiseguys" could wake up each day evading other Family hits on them, let alone dealing with those who were suppose to be Co-Familia...talk about paranoia. I have to say, I give props to Chickie D. for staying patient a decade to get his revenge. But, Floridia might be right too in that waiting 10 years possibly sent Chickie D over the line into Nutsville concerning that hit! Much Appreciated From Ohio....Salute!
That is very kind of you to say. Thank you. What's the weather like in Ohio at the moment?
@@OCSHORTZ COLD...no precip but awesome Windchill. We just had a few days of 60 degree temps but with rain too so hard to enjoy. I'm just glad it's almost the beginning of March instead of October LOLOL I just remind myself to be grateful the good Lord let me open my eyes another day so I could stay and play on his Big blue Marble! I saw the Weather Report a few days ago about The UK getting nailed with some serious Winter Chit as well as the rest of Europe! Stay Safe and keep Strutting My Man!

@@OCSHORTZ Being a Colombo is the most dangerous thing among NY families I think. Too much infighting….

@@jackieboy3968 Yeah, Gaspipe was a paranoid psycho. "Whack Jersey!"
A lot of these guys let power dictate their actions. You working with professional killers risking life and limb to make a buck. Campy was so stupid to sleep with Chickie's wife and her too. These guys got loooooong memory.
This video was a lesson in the machiavellian nature of the Cosa Nostra. Decisions made on self interest rather than honour.
Niccolo Machiavelli is their hero dude. I think Carlo Gambino used to quote NM all the time to his underlings.
@Zika Shit that's a tough one. Mexican Cartels, Chinese, Russian Mob, India's D company. The list goes on. I knew Albanian guys in NYC years ago plugged in. Italian Mafia is still around but not like in the 80s.
RICO law is killing all the gangs. As far as the US idk good question

@@OCSHORTZ same! Great content as usual!
Bruno, do you watch the channel hosted by a retired well known NY Detective, the title is " Police off the cuff. " I had the good fortune to stumble over it a few weeks back. He has some great guests, retired NYPD legends, I think they Jimmy Calandra on too, he has the channel Bath Avenue Stories with Jimmy Calandra, Jimmy is a mate of Sammy and was on Sammys' show a year or so back, he actually parked up with Sammy for a few days and said he had a ball with Sammy out in Arizona. I recommend everybody who reads this go take a look at the channel and you will see its appeal immediately, as i did, its GREAT hearing the cops and Feds side of chasing these guys around. The underlying factor seems to be among them all is, if you treat the cop like a gent, they will treat you exactly the same way. These guys were all Detectives and upwards so id expect they treat you better than say a street cop would, inexperience, bravado youth, a badge and a Glock can be a lethal combination when placed in the wrong hands.

Chicky DiMartino made the exact same mistake young Chin Gigante made trying to knock Frank Costello.
They both thought shouting on their intended victim before shooting them was a good idea.
Why they would think that would be a good idea is beyond me. It would appear to me that just getting it done as quickly and as quietly as possible with minimal fuss and without the victim having a clue what was going to happen would be the logical way to do it.
Great episode 💯
Thank you Bill
I'm a huge fan of your channel and like how you tell the story of the other guys in the life. I would really like to hear something on Carlos Gambino sons. Were they made ?
Tommy was, he ran the garment trucks etc for castellano, gotti.

Yes both were.
Thanks, I knew that Tommy worked the clothing district just thought they were just worker's not evolved in the life
Where you Get that book shelf at bro? Your presentation looks nice
I like your show. I've been studying the American mafia subject since the late 1970s. You are very educated and well informed on the subject. However, I think that you should also discuss other ethnic organized crime groups. I also enjoy reading about the Irish, Jewish, Mexican, Japanese, Russian, and Black American mobsters as well. Keep up the good work. The Italians will always be my favorite subject in this genre.
Thank you for your support and kind words. Other countries and groups will definitely be covered.

I would like to here about the murder of Charlie Locicero alias the sidge...He was gunned down drinking a soda in an 11th Ave soda shop...His grandson was murdered about a year before him because he snitched about a security robbery he was involved in...His body was found behind the Fortway movie house on Ft Hamilton Parkway Brooklyn...I'm from 11th Ave Brooklyn and went to school with Billy Cutolo...I knew him as Billy Cutola...we went to the same school and his sister hung out with my sister...he lived around the block from me...he got double crossed big time...I played ball against the Campanella's...I knew all the guys from 11th Ave...I never thought they would end up like they did...
I have indeed touched on Charlie the Sidge and his death in a previous video regarding his ambitions to take the top spot in the Family. THank you for sharing your local knowledge on Billy and the Campanella's.
I don't know how you keep up with all this detail and intrigue! And what a lifestyle these guys lead - never knowing from day to day if you are about to get whacked!
Glad you are finding the videos interesting Charles.

Have you ever seen the vids where Wild Bills' son is being interviewed, like a 60 minutes style show, the name escapes me, but he was so broken by them whacking his dad that he was talking along the lines of cooperating with the Govt and tell all he knows about his dads associates. I wonder if Wild Bill (Who evidently was a gentleman, and thats also said by Feds who knew/arrested him, ) ever realised how much his son idolised him, cos thats apparent as hell when you see the interview. Im glad I added this post as it helps the algo when a channel gets comments. I like that sort of thing.
Yes his name is Billy. He has done a few interviews. Glad you enjoyed the video.

I've been researching the mob for s long time OC. You ever seen another instance where an acting mob boss polled the Captains? To me the mob was always designed as an authoritarian dictatorship, not a democracy.
I know right?! And why would you poll Persico’s brother??
I don’t think it was like casting a vote and if the majority ruled, Persico was removed and Orena put in place lol. He was throwing out feelers to see if he would have enough muscle to take Persico out of power. He knew few guys were fiercely loyal to him and wouldn’t go for it; it was gonna be a fight. But your right, idk u would include his brother lol
Sammy and Gotti did same thing with a lot of Gambino captains before Castallano hit
Why didn't the bosses approve the hit earlier as sleeping with another made man's wife is against the rules? Was there no evidence of this?
Evidently not. Even after getting out of the life, Joe Campanella still denies it.
Jealousy is an attribute that has killed a lot of men guilty or not.
Great show 🍿

I’m not trying to open a business, I’m wanting it for my own home, and I’m afraid that as these mobsters continue to inevitably pass away it’s going to be harder and harder to get authentic things, and even harder to authenticate them. Sentenced to 25 years but according to the bureau of prisons his release date is 10th of August 2024. This is around 80% of the sentence which is the minimum which a federal prisoner has to serve before eligible for release.

Most documentaries on this subject state that sessa was asked to poll the captains, and at that time informed carmine about that because he was loyal to persico and knew he would be killed for doing so
Sessa was asked to conduct the second poll. The first had been done by Jimmy Angelina prior to his murder.
3:43 - This man is a wizard. No human can move that fast.
Some of these intended hits kind of remind me of a self fulfilling prophecy. A thinks B is going to cooperate so A decides to take B out before he gets the chance but it turns out B had no intentions atall of cooperating. Until of course A tries to kill him which then forces B into the arms of the feds and cooperation. B had no intention of cooperating until A tried to kill him so its actually A’s actions that turns B into a snitch. I’ve heard alot of stories that go like that although i suspect a fair few of those really did have intentions of cooperating before someone tried to take them out but they just say they didn’t to make it look like they had no choice and were forced into it by the people that tried to kill him.
I couldn’t live like that. Worrying anytime you stepped into a car or a house that you were going to get killed by your own friends. That would turn me completely paranoid.
