Thank you for this video. I was trying to help my grandparents fix their dishwasher that wouldn't dry and it turns out their water doesn't even get to 100 degrees. It was capping out at about 94 degrees! They had been taking cold showers and not asking anyone to fix it this whole time. Grandpa likes it cold, but grandma was suffering this whole time. So thank you. Testing this solution tonight by adjusting the water heater to higher than "Low Heat" xD
@@Getmytips Tried the water pre-heat the other day. Seems to work. It's still not like the good, old Kitchen Aid, but way better than without pre-heating. Thanks again.

What you are saying is dishwashers made recently are junk and I would agree. Just retired a perfect Maytag 'cuz the wife wanted a new kitchen. The GE replacement(home depot) is a pile of #@^%. The Maytag would get the water super hot w/o me priming it first. Again, this simply means that todays dishwashers are junk.
Yup, I had an ancient Kitchen Aid - the kind we had as a kid in the early 70's, and it always dried the dishes completely. And when I sold the house, not very long ago, it still ran flawlessly. Not quiet like my new Bosch, but the dishes were clean and dry. I'd take noisy and dry over silent and wet any day.
I am referring to the water line between the kitchen sink and the hot water heater. If your tankless hot water heater is in close proximity to the dishwasher then you don't need to flush the line. That's what I mean when I say purge the line of cold water.
@@Getmytips I appreciate your response. Sorry for one more dumb question... I assume I should run the sink for 3 minutes until water gets hot before turning on dishwasher. Is that what you mean?
Danielle Larocca, don't worry about it there's no such thing as a dumb question. Yes I'm talking about flushing the cold water out of the line between the hot water heater and the kitchen sink. Mike
@@bobbystanley8580 Turns out because I live in an energy efficient house I need to run the sink until it gets hot before turning on the dishwasher. I made that change and it works now. I can't explain it but they are washing and drying now.
Thanks for this. Our actual home water heater tank has been having issues with it turning on just to get our general water warm. This basically is all connected. Our dishwasher has been having issues drying and now I realize it’s probably due to the water heater situation.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! It worked! We moved into a new place with a new dish washer and it never did dry the dishes and YES it takes a long time for the hot water to get to the sink. That along with a full rinse aid did the trick! Best Christmas present ever. :-)
candace richter, thank you for the kind words but more importantly thank you for the courtesy of coming back and leaving feedback! Merry Christmas, Mike ☺
Working on my KitchenAid kudE20FBSS0 that has stopped drying properly. It still gets hot and finishes the cycle, but at then end everything is still wet. No vent/vent motor that I can find to check out. KitchenAid support just recommend adding rinse aid, but that's not doing the trick. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I spent 30 plus years in the appliance repair business and never saw a dishwasher connected to the cold water supply. To my knowledge, all dishwashers even today are connected to the hot water supply, Mike 🧓
Turn the hot water faucet on the sink and let it run until it gets hot. That will purge the waterline of all the cold water between the sink right next to the dishwasher and the hot water tank. Mike
@@Getmytips We seem to have the same problem. Less than one year the dishwasher stopped drying with tankless water heater. I wonder if the manufacturer could do anything since ours is still under warranty.
Nope, this isn't a solution to our problem. We have very hot water and it doesn't take long at all to get hot. Dishwasher just doesn't dry well and now isn't cleaning well. It's only 3 years old and is a higher end model. Repair guy took a quick look and could offer no soltions either. Was hoping for something like cleaning a filter or something that is blocking the machine from doing what it needs to do.
SuburbanHobbyist, Sorry that what was suggested in the video didn’t work for. I recommend responding to this message with the model number and brand name of your dishwasher so that someone who reads this can offer up a suggestion. Mike ☺
Hi, could anyone help ??? I have a dishwasher LBL12A (BRAZIL) but it is W10142826a. She is not warming up. she ends the normal cycle. I tested the resistance is ok. when i run the diagnostics (normal / heated dry (3x) during the process it heats up. what could it be? please !!!!
That would be great however there are laws in the United States that determine the energy consumption of appliances. A dishwasher with the ability to boil water in advance would be way over the energy consumption level. I have an on demand hot water heater under my sink next to the dishwasher. So that eliminates any hot water issues. Mike ☺
I made the mistake of buying a dw that as no heating ekement, it's supposed to dry with steam. LG, A HUNK OF JUNK! And the bins started rusting after just 3 years. I HATE IT!!! 😤
You can thank the EPA for today's dishwashers failing to dry the dishes! My 35 year old Whirlpool just kicked the bucket and we're having a funeral for it since it dried the dishes so well that it was as though I'd left them in the Sahara for a week and did so without raising my water temperature, or using fan blown air, having to open the door to allow water saturated hot air to escape, or some dumb-ass rinse aid. The reason? It had a 1500 watt coil in the bottom. Since then the EPA stepped in and decided that I was wasting too much energy on electricity and too much water to clean the dishes so it instituted regulations on the size of the heater and amount of water I should use forcing the manufacturers to change their technology. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH! A dishwasher has only two jobs: Wash the dishes. Dry the dishes. If it ain't doing both, al the bells and whistles are just so much useless B.S.! You can also thank the EPA for the fact that your shower heads now dribble the water out instead of spraying like a pressure washer, since they forced the manufacturers to put flow restrictors in their shower products. So I have to disassemble them and remove the restrictors to get the water flow I want. The EPA thinks they know better than the the citizenry. Frankly, I find them a collective waste of human DNA!
