I agree that the culture of bride kidnapping is really cruel, and I see everyone commenting that they or she should have called the police. I think those commenting failed to realize that at that time it wasn't considered illegal because of the culture and the ogs wouldn't allow to calling police in the hmong community. I think the change of bride-napping in the US didn't curb until the mid 90's.
