What a shame that the Warriors gave up on such a productive trio of Mullin, Hardaway, and Richmond, who had phenomenal chemistry, young, and efficient. Then, was screwed out of an opportunity to make a formidable trio with Mourning and former teammate, Tim Hardaway. Maybe Richmond would’ve won the championship eventually with either trio, but these are two more great what-if scenarios to think about. Luckily, he won one alongside the Kobe-Shaq duo. In the 90s he took Bernard King's title as the greatest scorer in the NBA NOT named Michael Jordan. Add Mitch to any big market contender in need of shooting back in the 90s and he would have been a HUGE star. Add him to the Knicks and those Bulls-Knicks games become WAAAY more interesting than they already were. Add him to the Heat, and same thing. Add him to Houston and they probably would have played the Bulls in the Finals a couple of times. He was THAT great. Keep doing your thing with this channel man. EDIT - in this age, Run-TMC may have been NBA champs. They were the original small ball team as Don Nelson is one of the fathers of it. He predicted small ball would take over the league one day and he was right. Mullin and Ritchmond would have been averaging 30+ a game in this modern era. Especially shooting over 40% from the 3 like those two routinely did. Hardaway was no slouch either as he usually shot anywhere from 35 to 40 per cent from 3. Had they had an elite defensive big man, they would have been a serious problem.
I can do Kiki. Cheated out of a national championship at UCLA. Luckily they lost. That final four appearance was vacated. The expansion Dallas Mavericks wanted to draft him. He said he wouldn't play for them. A big time scorer with Portland & Dallas. Played no defense. Was the GM with the Nuggets. Didn't get along with George Karl. Think he got a job in the league office
His talent wasn't wasted because he was in a small market. You don't know what you're talking about. His talent was wasted because the Kings, just like the Warriors, were mismanaged. The Jazz, the Bucks, and especially the Spurs are all small market teams and they had/has great teams and success. Only thing in their way was the Bulls specially with the Jazz. But the warriors were mismanaged because they kept choosing physical attributes like height over skill and talent. They have a long history of doing so, which is why Mitch was traded. Bad management until Joe Lacob came in and changed that mindset. And guess what, now they prefer small ball. And they still do. Maybe even to their detriment but at least they're choosing skill over solely on physical appearance. Same thing with the Kings in the 90's until the Maloofs bought the Kings and started looking at the team differently.

How about that Karma for trading Mitch, not winning a playoff series for almost 2 decades.
The breakup of Run TMC not only broke Richmond but would stunt the Warriors growth. If only Sprewell was with Run TMC. Also, no disrespect to anyone, but Billy Owens over Mitch Richmond?
God i miss the way the 90's basketball
Nah the most underrated player of all time Elgin Baylor despite him being HOFer & Kevin Johnson
Then, World B. Free as well Norm Nixon Rod Strickland Eddie Johnson who played for Sonics Suns Hornet Rockets. Dan Roundfield. These guys I mention would be a great forgotten player montage for them
That run and gun offense usually makes you low in defense for the year. It makes sense
Can u do MARBURY NEXT !!
He Was the Bradely Beal of the 90's in my eyes
Dude Bradley Beal wishes he had Mitch Richmond skills
He could’ve done damage in Miami wow what if!
