Jenn Im this month was little fast since I went back to school from winter break. And this month has been very sad because my grandma pass way on January 16 2018 and I had school the next day it’s been very had for me and my mom.
Its been one of the toughest months of my life. I spent this month going for 3 med interviews (in the UK) and ive already been rejected from 2, 1 of them being my dream school. I'm really worried about my future/ University because i think i will get rejected from my 3rd choice. Now I am really unsure if i shoud take a GAP year or apply to other countries, even though it is my dream to study in London. I really hope Feb will be better
A Thousand Splendid Suns is an amazing read!! A very tragic love story and a sad truth about what life was like for those living in Afghanistan. I believe that you will love it! Can't wait to see what you think of it! (: Love you, Jenn
YES! You should totally read A "Thousand Splendid Suns" and also "And The Mountains Echoed" both books are written by the same author as "The Kite Runner". Khaled Hosseini writes incredible fiction books!
Rosalia Marçula | You just have to force yourself doing stuff that either mad or make you happy and it will trick you mind and then it kind of becomes a habit, well that’s how I got over it along side with eating good. ☺️ hope it helps in some way
It's so crazy that we're already in the second month of the year, January has definitely felt like it went by so fast! 😲✨ Also, love how you never miss a monthly favourites video! 💞
Is there any chance you could do a video on how to find the right jeans for your body shape? I'm struggling right now to find a brand that fits my hips but aren't too baggy on my calves!! Love youuuuu and so proud of all that you've accomplished xx remember to take time to self love and spend time doing things you love!!!
I would second this, especially finding pants/jeans/trousers for short girls! I would love to know how Jenn finds items that can be oversized but still tailored to her body shape and height 🙏🏼
January crawled by! It didn't help that I got sick in the middle of it...and had all kinds of craziness at work. Feeling much better now, hoping February is much sweeter and more fun! Love your favorite lists, always something new to see/watch/try!
I had a rough January, with a miscarriage and stressful marriage issues we are working through. But i am soldiering on and still think this will be a wonderful year! There are beautiful things to look forward to - the no.1 is my adorable baby girl who will be 2 this year :) I am going to travel overseas with her it will be stressful but I am so excited that she will meet so many relatives and see many new things.
I was full of anxiety this January (flooded apartment, gave two weeks notice for job, currently job searching), and for some reason, it made the day-by-day pace very weird. Kind of jagged, like every day was painful, but not really painfully slow or painfully fast.
I recommend the book Call Me by Your Name. Wonderfully paced and the POV really heightens the intensity and beauty of the love story that unfolded. It was also just so beautiful written with immense imagery and really delved into the Elio's (the main character) thoughts.
I'm doing a PhD and struggle with reading novels, so I ended up getting into short stories over the past year. Some classics are Raymond carver, "what we talk about when we talk about love" and "cathedral", as well as Ernest hemmingway (any of his short stories are great!). Some women I've read recently too are lucia Berlin, "a manual for cleaning women" and Alice munro, "runaway". Angela carter's "the bloody chamber" or book of fairytales are also great feminist takes on classic fairy tales. I would also highly recommend "the argonauts" by Maggie Nelson. I hope you enjoy them if you get the chance to read them!
January went so fast for me. Maybe because I don't do anything. And it's sucks, I just graduated on August and currently looking for job. But I haven't got called. Maybe I'm that useless. While I'm struggling with finding a job. In January three of my friend announce they will get married this years. Then my friend just gave birth today. I'm not intrested in marriage or child at all. But seeing my friends getting married and having a child make me feels so fucking useless, cause I feel I don't do anything in this world.
A. ANS I’m in the exact same boat as you. It’s so frustrating to work for a degree (the completion was even postponed to August of an error my advisor made 🙄) and not see it play out. I’m in a major funk right now so my advice may not be the most trustworthy, but I’m not gonna come at you with the whole “it’ll work out eventually” thing. If you’re anything like me, that doesn’t help whatsoever. But know that you’re definitely not alone and others are in the struggle with us. Please reach out to me if you need to talk at all 😊💕
same with me but I get up and fight everyday because I have to fight feeling useless. take a walk and clear your mind. remember graduating is an accomplishment in it of itself. I am currently working on myself mentally and physically and it gives me something to do with all the spare time I have.
I feel you! Seeing everybody else around you with their shit tgt (seemingly) while you have no idea what you’re doing is SO discouraging and distressing. You’re not alone :)
Hear, hear. Post graduate depression is a thing, apparently. Just be patient with yourself! A job opportunity will come your way. Maybe you could spend this free time doing things that you used to love? Good luck on your journey! Also, do not despair over other people's successes, because you don't know what problems they have or what struggles they've been through to get where they are now.
January went by in a blink of an eye!!! Agatha Christie "And then there were none" is one of my absolute faves! A must read especially if you are a fan of crime novels
I had such a rough start of the year. I was in a psychiatric center for 3 months and went homeon the 5th of January. Very terrifying to go back to the big world, was home alone a lot. But I found a job and start Wednesday so hopefully this year will become a great year! Thank you for your videos Jen, they def helped me trough January
When Breath Becomes Air is an amazing book! It's an autobiography by Paul Kalanithi, a neurosurgeon who was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Such a great read! Finished it in a day
Yess!! I don't know if you have already read it, but "The unbearable lightness of being" by milan kundera. The female characters are excellently complex and multi-dimensional, Kundera depicts a set of beautiful characters. A woman is desperately in love with a man. This man is torn between his love for her, and his womanising nature. His mistress wishes she meant more to him. The mistress’s lover is humbly fateful. It will make you think, sigh, cry. Despite the lengthy title, the style is aerial, easy to read, yet delightfully intelligent and poetic. The characters are developed with a unique finesse. This book changed me. I always love your vidéos!! They make my days!! Merciii!!
January really just flew by for me! I've been working on trying to find positivity in any situation and it really has been helping my mental health. Yesterday was extremely overwhelming for me but then I met you briefly and it made my entire day ❤
Love all of your videos like always lol I know this month has flown by! Can’t believe we are about to be in MARCH!😱 I was blessed to travel to Mexico in January to see my grandmother that turned 96 years young!🧡🙌🏽
While feeling everyday gone by so fast, this month is kinda slow for me which I appreciate! Might because I m still in college and the beginning of the month was still winter break then school started. Got a lot of new project and finished up the old ones. Busy month but awarding. Hope you had a great month too!
My January went so fast! I can’t believe it’s already February! 😂 it was a month of transitioning for me-moved, got a new job, just feeling good. 😊 Loved all of your faves Jen! I have been wanting to jump on the Fenty train but haven’t yet.
OMG!! A thousand splendid Suns is the best book!!! It's a good read! Oh my heart! I read it for my senior year of high school and I fell in love with the book. 💓 I bought my own copy and I re-read til this day. Every time, every time I read it....oh my heart. I'm SO excited for you to read it and omgomgomgomg! Can't wait to see/hear your thoughts about it.
Yes! Please read A Thousand Splendid Suns! I just read it last month and it was a wonderful read. If you're looking for a non-fiction book/self-help, I'd recommend Difficult Conversations, how to discuss what matters most. Happy reading! 😊
loved this and you Jenn!! January was an epic month for me. It definitely felt like it lasted a whole lifetime but every moment of it was special. I started dating my college boyfriend, my first real relationship since the toxic one I had in high school. The sparks are really flying right now and I’m optimistic and enthusiastic about relationship. Thanks again for such amazing content. Wishing you the best!!
Hi Jen! Been loving your channel from the Sarah days ❤️ I highly recommend reading Little Fires Everywhere. I am about 3/4 of the way through, and I can tell you that it will keep you turning page after page! As for my January, I officially accepted a job in Vietnam! I was born and raised in the states but traveling and working abroad has always been my dream. I've got another month until I go, but here's to new beginnings!!
Thank you for adding the Canon m6 into your favourites. I've been eyeing it and definitely with your commentary I'll be purchasing it. Have a wonderful Feb!
So funny that you mentioned 4 Hour Work Week. I’ve heard so many good things about it and you’re the first one that’s said you don’t like it but I’m so happy you are so honest with us. I listen to Tim Ferris’s podcast sometimes and I can definitely see how he can come off that way.
I'm reading The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen and it's so well-written and has great dry humor. It also incorporates a lot of commentary about being an Asian American - how the characters see themselves and how others see them. I hope you read it and enjoy!! I absolutely LOVEEEEE your channel and you've inspired me to read more :)
The Four Hour Work Week guy being 'douchey' made me burst out laughing. Such a smart cookie, Jenn. I recommend Nathan Hill's The Nix. It was my brilliant January read.
I definitly recommend A thousand splendid suns!! It's been ly favourite since i read it last summer and it managed to get me to cry both from sadness and joy, knowing that i rarely get sentimental! The story is amazing and very eye opening ❤
I first thought those characters were unlikable as well, but as I watched I grew to love their take on life and what they would do for each other. Thank you for the epilator! I still do the time consuming task of plucking each hair and it hurts my neck... Have you read The Hate You Give? That's one I really want to pick up. Reading A Man Called Ove right now and it's hilarious and sad.
January flew by and I still can’t beliece it’s february already, I feel like I’m just gonna blink right through it! Jen I was going to tell you that I don’t recommend epilating because it will enlarge the pores under your arms and possibly cause ingrowns/infection from ripping the hairs out. I have the hairiest pits and epilating couldn’t keep up. I finally turned to laser hair removal and it CHANGED MY LIFE. Haven’t shaved in over 2 years! Amazing! I would suggest you try laser if u wanna remove the hair for good and not have to worry about hair... but if epilating works for u, then do you boo :)
Hey Jenn! January has gone by super fast and I'm enjoying 2018 so far. I look forward to seeing what happens the rest of the year. I highly recommend 1000 splendid suns! It's one of my favourite books!
Love your favourites videos! A couple fiction book recommendations: firstly, also by Khaled Hosseini And The Mountains Echoed is one of my all time favourites. Anything he writes is so great! And secondly, A Walk Across The Sun by Corbin Addison, similarly written with multiple characters developing seemingly unrelated until the end :)
i recommend any oliver sacks book! hes a neurologist who writes very interesting case studies. the most famous is 'the man who mistook his wife for a hat' but a shorter one is 'gratitude' - super sweet, short essays about life before his death, or his autobiography 'on the move'.
ahh seriously the editing & the graphics in your videos never fail to impress me! never gets old :') also that fenty gloss bomb looks amazing! & the netflix show sounds so good oh my gosh! adding it to my list 😋💕
"All the Lights We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr is an absolutely AMAZING read. It's a historical fiction novel told from the perspectives of two kids growing up during World War II, and how their lives come together and fall apart. It's stunningly beautiful--I highly recommend it!
Jenn you are so beautiful and inspirational! Thank you for another great video could we also get a makeup tutorial on your look today it is beyond gorgeous! Love you!
I think it was a mixture of both fast and slow. I’m in my last semester of college so the first two weeks were slow but the last two went by fast. Only 3 more months and I’m graduated, I can’t believe it! Loved the video!!
YES!! Please read A Thousand Splendid Suns! It's especially relevant now with the Time's Up movement. Also, have you ever heard of To All The Boys I've Loved Before? It's a really cute YA series about three sisters who are half Korean. It has a very rom com vibe about it, which I don't know if that's something you usually read.
I am feeling your look SO HARD. Your looks always blow me away!!! Also lol I still pluck (6 years now) for the same reason. I tried a diff epilater before and it didn't work well, maybe I'll try the one you recommended! Also, A Thousand Splendid Suns is my FAVORITE book!!!! You have to read it!
January has been great, hopefully February is better and I get ahead on filming new videos!! Thank you so much for sharing your January favorites. Also, I have yet to try the Fenty Beauty lip products. Lol
Last week, our U23 Vietnam football team managed to go to the final round of ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. My country( Vietnam) went crazy about this event. U23 team also paraded the streets. That was so much fun
I recommend reading any one of Tony Robbin's books! I recently came back from a seminar and it was electrifying and ive heard his books are amazing!! Love you so much jenn have a great everyday!
You have to watch “kingdom” !!! It’s sooo good!! The main guy in there is 52 and he looks so young. The show is brilliant, raw, and it’s so real! There’s only three seasons so watch it please so good !!
Ahh here it is! I always look forward to your favourites because you include things like books and meditation - it's all inclusive, that's why I feel you're so inspirational to me! Keep it up!
One month down. Eleven more to go! How was your January, ya'll?
Jenn Im i love your earrings!!!😍
It went by really quickly! Super fast, just like yours.
Jenn Im this month was little fast since I went back to school from winter break. And this month has been very sad because my grandma pass way on January 16 2018 and I had school the next day it’s been very had for me and my mom.

A Thousand Splendid Suns is an amazing read!! A very tragic love story and a sad truth about what life was like for those living in Afghanistan. I believe that you will love it! Can't wait to see what you think of it! (: Love you, Jenn
I've started it a few days ago and I love it!
It’s my favorite book! Makes me cry like a baby every time
The first thing I could think about was the missed opportunity to have a ‘Jennuary Faves’ HAHAHAHA
YES! You should totally read A "Thousand Splendid Suns" and also "And The Mountains Echoed" both books are written by the same author as "The Kite Runner". Khaled Hosseini writes incredible fiction books!
I got over my depression which I'm not going back to either, and I hope February is going to be a better month. :D
yesss 💪🏼 let 2018 be all about self care
I'm truly so so so so happy for you
good for you! :')
yes! keep on
Rosalia Marçula | You just have to force yourself doing stuff that either mad or make you happy and it will trick you mind and then it kind of becomes a habit, well that’s how I got over it along side with eating good. ☺️ hope it helps in some way
I very much appreciate that even background hahaha. #roomgoals ! And I 100% agree with the Fenty gloss not leaving the sticky feeling! A true fave
It's so crazy that we're already in the second month of the year, January has definitely felt like it went by so fast! 😲✨ Also, love how you never miss a monthly favourites video! 💞
Aww thank you for the constant support!

Love youuuuu and so proud of all that you've accomplished xx remember to take time to self love and spend time doing things you love!!!
Jodi Turnbull Levi jeans are really good!
try out american eagle; i like their super high rise jeggings
Perhaps get ones that sit well on your hips and just get the calves bit fixed by a seamstress? :)
Omg I have exactly the same problem its sooo hard to find jeans that suit both my hips and calves
I would second this, especially finding pants/jeans/trousers for short girls! I would love to know how Jenn finds items that can be oversized but still tailored to her body shape and height 🙏🏼
That lipstick looks so flattering on u!
I love your hair in this 😍 this length frames ur face so well!!
Same! Since I feel like I suck at doing my hair, Jenn, if you ever want to do a hair tutorial of this hair you did, ;DD that'd be great~
That lip colour looks great on you!
😘
January dragged on!! 😧😧😧 it's FINALLY February, and finally time for Black Panther!!! 😄😄
Ciera Johnson can’t wait to see that movie too!!!!
Yaaaaas😭
January crawled by! It didn't help that I got sick in the middle of it...and had all kinds of craziness at work. Feeling much better now, hoping February is much sweeter and more fun! Love your favorite lists, always something new to see/watch/try!

Everybody raves about that gloss from Fenty. Looks like I gotta try that! 💕
Jenn! You must read "I'll Give You the Sun" by Jandy Nelson! Such an endearing, beautifully written book & one of my personal favorites! Love you!!!
I recommend the book Call Me by Your Name. Wonderfully paced and the POV really heightens the intensity and beauty of the love story that unfolded. It was also just so beautiful written with immense imagery and really delved into the Elio's (the main character) thoughts.

I thought I was alone with the plucking of armpit hair omg haha
LOL! Glad I'm not the only one!
#pluckthosepits
Me too!! I’ve never heard of an epilator, my life will never be the same!!!! 💞💞💞💞
Been introduced to once since the age of 11, and its like my holygrail
It must hurt so bad
Your favourites vids are still my fave!

Please reach out to me if you need to talk at all 😊💕
Just wanted to add that I'm going through the same thing!
same with me but I get up and fight everyday because I have to fight feeling useless. take a walk and clear your mind. remember graduating is an accomplishment in it of itself. I am currently working on myself mentally and physically and it gives me something to do with all the spare time I have.

loved this and you Jenn!! January was an epic month for me. It definitely felt like it lasted a whole lifetime but every moment of it was special. I started dating my college boyfriend, my first real relationship since the toxic one I had in high school. Hi Jen! Been loving your channel from the Sarah days ❤️ I highly recommend reading Little Fires Everywhere. I am about 3/4 of the way through, and I can tell you that it will keep you turning page after page!

January felt so slow while we were in it but now that it’s over, it felt like a flash!

The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro! Beautiful, thoughtfully written depiction of love and marriage, leaves a lot for you to think about
Absolutely loving the makeup look!
Hugs from Malaysia! 🙆🏻♀️💕

1st Week of Spring Semester done!! Now I can relax and enjoy Jenns videos!💜💜
I think it was a mixture of both fast and slow. I’m in my last semester of college so the first two weeks were slow but the last two went by fast. Only 3 more months and I’m graduated, I can’t believe it! Loved the video!!
Definitely recommend A Thousand Splendid Suns! I hope you like it!
A thousand splendid suns is definitely one of my favorite books of all time, I highly recommend it! The author Khaled Hosseini is amazing.
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for showcasing the epilator! I got it, and I love it!!
Watching this in June because it's Summer break and I'm spending my holiday binge watching your videos. Hope you'll have a great day Jenn!
I've been using that epilator for years! I don't have much hair so I use on my legs n arm pits. No pain at all.
My January was pretty filled with work and transitions and stress but lots of great moments as well :3
GURL YES a thousand splendid suns was AMAZING. can't wait to hear your thoughts
Yaaass epilators change the game. Hurts SO much, but works super well for legs
Yess! It's a game changer... and oddly satisfying!

Stops hurting tho! I've epilated my armpits for 2 years and it's just a tickle now. Keep holding on!
Jenn Im can't wait for u to show us how it works!! 😀
A thousand splendid suns is one of my faves! such a sad but beautifully written novel. Def recommend!
I just finished The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. Good one!
January has been great, hopefully February is better and I get ahead on filming new videos!! Thank you so much for sharing your January favorites. Also, I have yet to try the Fenty Beauty lip products. Lol
한글자막 올려주시는 분 항상 감사해요💕
love you Jenn💕
Last week, our U23 Vietnam football team managed to go to the final round of ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. My country( Vietnam) went crazy about this event. U23 team also paraded the streets. That was so much fun
I recommend reading any one of Tony Robbin's books! I recently came back from a seminar and it was electrifying and ive heard his books are amazing!! Love you so much jenn have a great everyday!
If you liked the kite runner I think you’ll really enjoy a thousand splendid suns! Such a beautiful book :)
You have to watch “kingdom” !!! It’s sooo good!! The main guy in there is 52 and he looks so young. The show is brilliant, raw, and it’s so real! There’s only three seasons so watch it please so good !!
My January was definitely fast. Or went without me noticing the times.... But soon it's Korean new years holiday so I'm excited 😙
Love, Lies and Spice. The plot is not crazy but I love the lines, the small details. It's just a fast easy feel good read. 😍
Ahh here it is! I always look forward to your favourites because you include things like books and meditation - it's all inclusive, that's why I feel you're so inspirational to me! Keep it up!
