- An atrial septal defect or ASD is a birth defect where there is an abnormal connection between the two aria of the heart. This condition is sometimes known as "hole in the heart".
Iam 22 years old and I find out I have 1.4cm asd in my heart , I live in poor family and poor city in iran , I will face this issue with courage and I will go through it and even if I die I will hold my head high and proud to my self for how I faught

@@Gize7 its about 4 month since I did asd device closure surgery and now I'm good and I go to the gym but some times I get few random pain in my chest and a very little problem in breathing

For the last two years I have been dealing with major episodes of syncope, shortness of breathing, palpitations, tachycardia, and high blood pressure. On the 24th of June I had one such incident that nearly got me intubated and sent to the ICU. After a echocardiogram it was found that I had a ASD. They have said this is what has caused my issues and I am being referred to a cardiothorasic surgeon for surgery. I’m hoping we can do one of the closure devices and I can avoid open heart. I’m 31 and this was just found because prior I had no issues with it. My PCP said it has likely been there since birth but sometimes these can happen if someone has a prolonged fever that goes untreated, chronic strep throat, or heart attacks can also cause these.

@@ssoni429 yes it was closed by a small operation and a parachute type device was implanted and closed off the opening. Haven’t had anymore issues thankfully.

I'm 50 years old now. I just found out that I have ASD. That's why sometimes even when I'm sleeping, my heart still palpitates or that's why even if I'm just sitting down, it suddenly palpitates. I had heart surgery and the hole was covered and the two blocked veins in my heart were also bypassed in one operation.
Any operation on the body is easy to recover from if you are not diabetic. It's a good thing I was young enough to avoid eating sweets, the faster my wound healed

I was born with this but it wasn’t detected until I had a stroke at age 45. A blood clot went through the hole to my brain. I did have it patched and closed to prevent it from happening again. I have to take blood thinners the rest of my life.

Plz meri aap yek help kariye ....mere bete ki report main asd hi nahi balki or kux v hain jese SVC 7.5mm IVC 5.2mm and ASD 5.8mm to kya ye dil me hole k aalawa or kuchh sab v garbar hain samajh ni aaraha ...😥

But if it's cause pulomanry hypertension , doctor refuse to get surgery bcs it's too risky to operate that patient bcs hole create a pressure in lungs ,which is so dangerous to operate,if the plumonary hypertension value 1:5:1 is more than this , doctors refuse to opreate
