    No More Lies (Harris)
    [Lyrics]
There's a darkening sky before me, there's no time to prepare
Salvage a last horizon, but no regrets from me
Maybe I'll be back some other day to live again just who can say
In what shape or form that I might be, just another chance for me
A hurried time, no disgrace, instead of racing to conclusions
And wishing all my life away, no-one can stop me now
Time is up, it couldn't last but there's more things I'd like to do
I'm coming back to try again someday maybe I'll wait till then
No more lies, no more lies [x4]
They're all sitting at my table, talking tall and drinking wine
Their time is up just like me, but they just don't know it yet
So just a word of warning when you're in your deepest dreams
There's nothing you can hide from, I've got my eye on you
The clock is fast, the hour is near, eventful past is ever clear
My life is set, the time is here, I think I'm coming home
No more lies, no more lies [x4]
A hurried time, no disgrace, instead of racing to conclusions
Wishing all your life away, no-one can stop me now
Time is up, it couldn't last but there's more things I have to do
I'm coming back to try again don't tell me that this is the end
No more lies, no more lies [x5]
    No more lies...

''No More Lies'' is a song from the thirteenth studio album ''Dance of Death'' by Iron Maiden, released first in Japan on September 2 and rest of the world on September 8, 2003.
The lyrics deal with a character who knows that his time has come, with the darkening sky representing the beginning of the end (Steve Harris has himself mentioned that the lyrics quite match the story of the Last Supper in the Bible). However, this particular character seems to have lived his life to the full and does not express any regrets to leave this world. There is a hint as to the possibility of reincarnation ("Maybe I'll be back some other day"), as is customary in many Maiden songs that deal with death. The title "No More Lies" itself could have different interpretations. It could be that, when the end comes, there's no more time to lie about how we see our life. The illusions we had about our past simply vanish and we're confronted to the truth, no matter how much we tried to hide from it before. On the other hand, it could also represent the hope that, if there is a next life, it won't be filled with lies as the previous one was. Wipe the slate clean and start all over again, with truth and honesty -- "I'm coming back to try again". Even if there is such a thing as reincarnation or another life, it seems doubtful that truth will prevail then, as it never did before anyway.
For most dying people, there is this crazy and unfounded hope that things won't stop there ("don't tell me that this is the end"), and that our conciousness will go on forever. All we've experienced and the knowledge we've gained throughout our lives would otherwise go to waste, and we would be like some piece of electrical equipment that would have served its time just to be switched off one last time before ending up in a scrapyard. We all like to believe that this is not the case and that we can carry on indefinitely. No one knows for sure if this is true, though...
''Dance of Death'' album marks the first participation in songwriting by Nicko McBrain, who co-wrote the song "New Frontier" and also is the first (and so far only) time that all members of the band get a songwriting credit. It is sometimes mistakenly said that Steve Harris performed all the keyboard parts on the album because no credit is given to usual collaborator Michael Kenney, but this is actually due to an oversight in the printing of the album booklet (no instrument credits are given to any of the full band members either). The band's usual message in every album (a variation on the line "Up the Irons!") is absent too.
Give Me Ed... 'til I'm Dead Tour & Dance of Death World Tour was the tour supporting the album. Dance of Death once again brought costumes to Maiden's stage show. During "Dance of Death," Bruce Dickinson would wear theatrical masks and a cape while moving around the stage; at the end he would dress as the Grim Reaper for the final chorus. During the song "Paschendale", Dickinson would sometimes wear a traditional British Infantryman suit as worn during World War I and act out his death onstage during the song.
The title of the album refers to the late-medieval allegory on the universality of death: no matter one's station in life, the dance of death unites all. This philosophy is more commonly known as Danse Macabre.

2:09 Nicko is a patient guy, in those cases I'd have the temptation to just let the singer go off on his own

@MaidenUSA1978 It's the chorus that's the beauty when you hear it live, a simple chorus that everyone can sing. A great live song, worse in studio version.

He doesn't sing the chorus like he used to. Maybe he just think this way is better?

Singers sometimes have to find a more efficient way to sing a challenging part to take care of their voice over the tour

What is with the love for this song???? I just don't get it. Along with The Angel and the Gambler this is one of their weaker songs of the last 15 years. Could have been cut to a 4 or 5 minute track and it would have been much better, instead of repeating the chorus 100 times. Would much rather hear Montsegur or Rainmaker on this tour
