I think they are a fantastic first race to start with, learning to play with the humans allows you to learn many different ways to play the game in one team.
The way they are displayed has changed. Now the roll needed is displayed for Agility, Ma has been nerfed with elven teams. As for rolling them, I am not sure. It sounds like you spend SPP to roll 2d6 and if you get a higher roll the stat increases by 1. I am not sure about this yet
It's fun but has issues. Crashes often, hard to connect with friends for a friendly game, greedy monetization imo, have to wait til august before they implement a reconnect feature for when you get disconnected from a match. There's a good game there, just needs polishing. Personally I advise waiting if it's not something you are dying to play.

Is this game as bad as I have been hearing or is it a case of the games flaws being blown out of proportion?
Those that have bad to say always have the loudest voices. I am personally enjoying it.
