Some points were made this episode. While Scylla was chained, she tried to point out the hypocrisy of interrogating her the same way witches have been tortured in the centuries. Adil also makes a strong point to Abigail that war has casualties and some gifts should not be used to avoid collateral damage in the long run. Still, watching Scylla and Raelle reunite was the most heartbreaking scene.
Even if Scylla choices are questionable, we have to give her that she is committed to her beliefs, and that makes her badass. I love how Scylla even when chained up still isn't scared of Anacostia like THAT'S RAELLE GIRL. AND THEN: "I love you Raelle." "I love you." AHHHHHH
It was shocking that Anacostia only "broke" Scylla's mind after she saw Raelle... I hope that Anacostia help her /them at some point... Ps, sorry for my english but I needed to share this, this episode was heartbreaking... Omg...
@@cecilianavarro3570 It was easy to get in her head by using Raelle because she is Scylla's weakness since she loves her. Yeah, that's what love does to you. Even if you are vengeful and in a grief, it can melt your heart and broke the wall that you built.
I really like how they have done this 'after the storm' thing, it really helps to clarify, understand, or confirm what we just saw in the episodes. It's also a good way to see what the cast and creators envisioned for the episode and their understanding/ interpretation of their characters and the overall storyline development. I really hope this gets a second season, one of the best shows I have seen.
Amalia Holm did a great job in tonight Episode l could feel what she was going throw and I'm hoping there is something good in Scylla . Lyne Renee show how powerful of a General Alder can be.
I can't wait to see how Scylla is going to be redeemed in this series. I have faith that she WILL be redeemed, and that she will eventually see that she is in the wrong and atone for her actions. However, I don't want her to be redeemed simply because of her relationship with Raelle. Love isn't what should redeem a person and allow them to atone for their mistakes. I can't wait to see where Eliot takes Scylla as a character!! Amazing acting by Amalia and Taylor in the dungeon. It absolutely broke my heart seeing them like that :(
Yeah. Maybe they’ll make her a spy?🤷🏻♀️ but from someone who doesn’t do shipping, I feel like the ability to love or being loved shouldn’t be a free pass from certain things. In real life or in fiction. IMO. But I guess personally, certain things, I just see it in black and white. Hopefully she does try to make up for it. For her own sake. Not just for Raelle.
The big question here is... is it wrong tho? What Scylla believes in make so much sense, the methods might be extremists but the reason? She has a good case

Damn, y’all. Therapy clearly doesn’t seem to be a thing in this world, and Alder has clearly been deeply traumatized by living through the witch trials (“the burning time”), and seeing her sister hanged while being powerless to prevent it. She’s making questionable choices out of desperation, but the accord is why her people aren’t being openly hunted and destroyed by the state. And it’s absolutely a shitty position to be in and put others in. And she is definitely spinning out in her desperation to keep the state from openly going after witches again, but that doesn’t make her a lunatic or even “power mad”.
Best episode yet! I cried real tears towards the end when Alder got her vocals worked by a Khalida, a precocious child! It was haunting and beautiful, and I love how it shows off the shows, unique approach to magic. Alder is 300 years old but that magic comes at a price. Y'all seriously forgetting that SCYLLA was the one who did the mass murder in the first episode. Can she even be redeemed? Jesus
It's like these people who had their entire families murdered in bomb strikes. Even though they were innocent. Then a terrorist group comes and recruits them, and they feel like they have nothing left to loose. I think the military aren't innocent either in this. Scylla's broken and the Spree took advantage of that, and if they turn her. She could be a powerful ally.
Wasn't that a whole group of them?
@@wkadalie Slaves (witches) die by the thousands by generation and do not live long and no one (including you) finds that normal. Slavers (non-sorcerers) who live to be safe grandparents are murdered in small numbers and everyone (including you) finds it intolerable. I suppose you would have liked the treaty not to establish slavery and the genocide to come to an end, would you not?
@@wkadalie who's innocent anyway? The soldier, the witches, killed innocent people, liky Scylla's parents after refusing.
Nobody is forgetting it. We just choose not to judge people by one act of hatred and pain like you do. She lived her whole life on the run and saw her parents killed in front of her for what? Because they didn't want to surrender their lives to fight the wars of the human world who hates and fears them? Y'all seriously forgetting that human have killed way more witches than we've seen the Spree kill humans... does that mean we should condemn all humans forever?
