Now, this just goes against HaShem's instructions to make welcome anyone who wants to be part of His people. Jews have ignored that the Israelite nation was created "to be a light to the nations", and apparently forget that all people of the world would be blessed through Avraham. Torah is the way meant for the whole world, the nation He created was to carry that light. They failed, are still in exile, and still keep putting Torah second to their sages and ancient commentary. I'm speaking generally, I know Jews who do not ascribe to this insular, "the Torah is just for us" mindset. I have had the most excellent teaching from Jews and Rabbis for years. But it is sad that, as a whole, the religious Jews want to behave as if HaShem and His Torah is only for them.

concretereddful by that reasoning, no one who doesn’t understand algebra may study it. Or only Spanish people may study Spanish. Torah is Hashems instructions to man. @@lostinart I've actually been thinking about this a lot. Maybe g-d did write a different set of instructions for each ethnicity. Or at least Jews-Christans-Muslims. The atheist movement is getting more and more popular. Maybe the point is to come together in some way. As someone who grew up around Christians and recently started studying the other 2 it seems like the father is judaism who teaches with stern hand and who gives the son who preaches compassion and sends the holy spirit of the Lord. Maybe the Rabbi could expound more on what it says in Sanhedrin 59a1. The following text is from the Artscroll Talmud Bavli.
    Sanhedrin 59a1
    The Gemara answers:
There, the Baraisa refers to their seven Noahite commandments. An isolated who studies Torah to become knowledgeable about his own obligations is commanded.
R'Yochanan, though, was referring to an isolated who studies laws that are not applicable to him.
Then in Note 10 it states:
Meiri explains that R' Yochanan's prohibition refers to an idolater who learns the precepts of the Torah and the Talmud in order to mislead Israelites. That is, he wishes to use his knowledge of Israelite law to trick them into thinking that he is an Israelite and then influence them. A person is therefore fit to be punished for studying the Torah for such a purpose. However, if a Noahite studies the seven commandments that apply to him, he should be honored like a Kohen Gadol even if his investigations lead him to study most of the precepts of the Torah. Since his main purpose in studying is knowledge of the Noahite laws, there is no concern that he will influence Israelites (see also Chamra VeChayei)

It is derived from that which is stated: “You shall therefore keep My statutes and My ordinances, which if a man does he shall live by them” (Leviticus 18:5). Like Shem who was a Noahide and taught Abraham. Non-jews are permitted as long as they study things that have rabbinical commentary and they don't seek to perform rituals or traditions that are ONLY permitted to Jews. Shalom. Without the respect for fundamental moral values - justice, helping the oppressed, the widow, and the orphan - everything else is futile and insignificant (prayers, Sabbath, sacrifices, etc.). Begin with the essentials and then serve.
Yes, sacrifices and adherence to the law only make sense if moral values are respected; otherwise, there is no purpose (justice, the oppressed, the widow, and the orphan).
    Isaiah 1
13 Cease to bring empty offerings! I abhor incense, the beginnings of the month, Sabbaths, and convocations. I cannot bear to see injustice associated with celebrations.
14 I detest your new moons and your appointed feasts; they have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them.
15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood.
16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil,
17 learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.
18 Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
The Messiah Yeshua imparts the teaching of light to you; there is nothing higher. As long as many Jews reject their Messiah, we will achieve nothing. Your Messiah only teaches the Torah, the law of Moses; to reject him is senseless.
    Matthew 5
43 You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?
48 You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
    Isaiah 9
5 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
    Micah 5
1 Now muster your troops, O daughter of troops; siege is laid against us; with a rod they strike the judge of Israel on the cheek.
2 But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.
3 Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has given birth; then the rest of his brothers shall return to the people of Israel.
4 And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth (Yeshua born in Bethlehem)."

If the Torah she be'al peh is the Mishnah and Gemora, I think perhaps you should state this more as a reality rather than a prohibition. I don't really see any harm coming to anyone from reading these books ... Coursera has a course on it which is quite fun. Moreover, in places like South Korea some people actually study it simply to acquire some semblance of the methods of critical thinking needed to acquire even a basic understanding. But this is the point. To follow what they are talking about, argument after argument, and to benefit from it, you can't just read it passively. To understand it, you must be at least a little obsessed. You have to explain it, have it explained to you, develop an understanding of how the laws relate to one another, of how halacha distances one from violating the original laws, of the unique flavor of logic which mixes common sense with abstract categorical analogy, of the introduction of seemingly absurd situations that bend the laws, of the personalities and priorities of the rabbis, and then you have to believe in and practice what you learn. And why would you do this if you weren't Jewish? I am a gentile with some extremely limited exposure to these books, but I can say that what I took from them were useful cognitive habits that I try to apply elsewhere in my life. Specifically, define a category by its exceptions rather than its most general traits. It helps me with computer programming, believe it or not. If there is a prohibition to be made, maybe it should be for someone who hasn't studied it as a Jew to claim to have an authoritative opinion about it.

Yehudah = acceptance of humiliation = resilience
    Yehidah = active humiliation
So, the Jew is not confined to a land, a culture, or a nation: the people of Israel has the Lord of all lands as their Guiding Light.
Secondly, the Jew has to be of the People of Israel, not exactly the congregation of the progeny of Isaac (because all nations, one way or another, shall make part of the family of Abraham).
Instead, Israel are the tamed and meek at heart, who sharpen themselves using their resilience to the situations, and plant the seeds of the Lord everywehre, making their best efforts in turning simple men into Children of God.
Such resilience, pressuposes ardor towards God and His Justice, as well as insatisfaction with this world of material pleasures, what produces a sentiment of detachment from this very same world (this is why a Jew must not make distinction between people, because the Jew shall always be a foreigner, no matter the place having been gone to.)
Thus, the Oral Law, the hacks given to the Written Law, are not for anyone to delve into, because it implies sanctification, discipline, dedication, resilience, and consistency. It's a lifetime study, and just a lifetime is not sufficient for that.
This is why it is said in the Bible: "Unto you (i.e., the close disciples) is given the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heavens." We should not give pearls to the swine, but, at the same time: what has been told you in occult, proclaim it soundfully.
But it doesn't mean necessarily to explain detailedly every single thing, but say it in such a way that the message is given to the soul: implicitudes need perspicacy to be understood and for the soul of the listener to understand them carefully, and also learn them by practicing

Thank you for taking on this question. I am a non-Jew who has never belonged to any religion. I was agnostic and then I studied them all with all of my free time and concluded that the Torah is the truth. I have been a Ben Noach for about 4 years now and host an online study of the 7 Laws (via the Divine Code - english version of the Sheva Mitzvot).
Currently, I am studying the relationship between Bnai Israel and certain groups of non-Jews, such at the the children of Heth, the Rechabites and most especially, the Kenites. The Kenites, in particular because they are clearly held in the highest regard in the Torah. They are the highest level for non-Jews. The Kenites held a place on the Sanhedrin, guarded the gate and were mentioned as scholars and scribes! We can clearly see that this group camped or "nested" along with Judah/Israel. I am working on a book about the Kenites and, GOD willing, I will be able to finish it this year.
I am always careful not to step on Israel's toes. The Torah belongs to them. That said, there were covenants before Sinai.
Am I able to study the Kenites in order to achieve the highest level I can reach as a non Jew and fulfill my potential? I have to say that studying them has increased my fear of GOD exponentially. The Torah must be from GOD.

A gentile may just confuse things by studying Torah, if he does not really want to accept Hashem as the one and only G-d by heart he will just study it to look how to critique the Torah with the NT that he does not really have a change to the true G-d he may just be looking how to go against it and then talk about their Jesus. Im studying the Torah but i decided in my heart by myself to follow Hashem and that He is the one and only G-d. Even if im not a convert cause i have no teacher, i know who i have put my trust and faith. I was Christian before cause that was what most of the childrens are teached in the Island of Puerto Rico, but no one teached me about Judaism or told me nothing it was a desire whitin my heart that told me i was not in the right way, that there is only one G-d and something spiritual made me look for Hashem and the roots out of nowhere and made me feel to follow the truth, and He made me feel the truth and discern from false things and true things in life and gave me visions that i dont share but i use for myself to grow. And i dont even know how to reach a Rabbi to help me, but that doesnt mean i will wait till i can find one to talk, to start studying Torah, cause my heart longs for Hashem and His word. But there is truth, that some gentiles dont study Torah with good intentions, just confuse things then confused others mixing the Torah with the NT and Jesus and start looking for similarities by convinience. To make their own truth and transgiverse the words in a way that can benefit them confusing others and convincing people to change to Christianity or try to pass as Jew then start saying that Yeshua is G-d and its the same dog with a different bone like we say in my island, just makeover, that many (Christians) think they are Jews but they dont change to the true G-d instead they say that Yeshua is the Messiah, be aware of those people, the (Messianic Jews). There are Jews that really are Jews by name but dont follow Hashem the one and only G-d. Cause how they work. I may not convert has i truly want to be for Him, and be the one that Hashem wants me to be, but im on my way. I just needed to accept it in my heart let my mind know it and never forget, but is a thing of changing owr hearts first so we can change our minds to finally take the step and go out of idolatry and false teachings.
