The beauty of this planet is overwhelming. Thank you so much for sharing, Mari. It's always a little bit like hiking with you.
So happy I can share it all with you :)
I really appreciate how much work you put into these videos. Such great music, visuals, and editing! Thanks 😊
xoxoxox
It just keeps getting better and better. The scenery and music are awesome! Had to watch a few times because it was so beautiful.
😊😊😊
Plus 10 points for the 1,000 mile music!
I really appreciate this video - it showed you were struggling but you still manged to show positivity!!
The music you chose is epic. Another great hike and you made the 1000 mile mark.😘 I'm just lovin it. Thanks for sharing your journey. Yaay!
wow what a bunch of huge milestones! 1000 miles walked is huge but you have worked extra hard for them. Huge snow year and steep elevations with a heavy bear can on your back. But such gorgeous country! I love the sierras. 2.2 lbs is how much my two person tent weighs. Leaving gorgeous Yosemite. Now you are headed to another high point of Lake Tahoe. I know you enjoyed that. Thanks for posting
I live in Reno and am from the Truckee area. This lower half of the Sierras in the past several videos is soooo beautiful but I'm so excited to see you get further north. I'm so lucky to live here 💕 I go camping near Sierra City every year and love to see PCT vloggers go through that area. Glad to catch up finally!
Yeah, because of the wet year crazy bugs. I'm so glad you the videos at home were you could take your time, well worth it. They have been great.
I love the relaxing music at the start of your video. I wish that all your videos had that relaxing music in it for the entire video. Keep up the good work.
I'm so loving each and every video. Well done and loving the music too. Can't wait for the next installment. 🤷♀️
Nick is hilarious to me.... @11:33, he’s done with the bear can~
What an epic year for a Sierra crossing. Great job, what an accomplisment.
As always enjoy watching your videos, such a good job of putting them together, music, scenery and content. The other young woman in the group, looks like an awesome person to hike with , a fun upbeat personality. Good Tramily all around ! 👍😁
Thanks! Yeah it was so nice hiking with Bart! And the others :)
Sweet video. Great story.
Thanks for sharing.
Congrats on 1000 Miles!
Awesome awesome music!!! Thanks for the beautiful pictures too !! We don’t have mountains in southern Louisiana. 😉
You make me want to venture off trail... such wonderful videos.
Woohoo 1,000 miles! Loved this episode, awesome music as always 😄 can’t wait for the next one!
First! This is why I get up early on Sunday! Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Thanks for watching! Hope you’re having a good weekend!
Wow, I just started watching you show the foot wear and gloves that you have used. Then I start watching video after video of you and Nick doing this crazy walk-hike-ordeal. You really push yourself. I would be taking my time and maybe ten miles on any given day. But wow you two really push the envelope wide open. A friend at work is always walking and he walked some trail in Spain about a year or two ago. Now I see why he is always talking about the next hike that he is preparing for. Wild stuff. Please take care and thanks for the adventure. Now I have to get off my sorry fat behind.
A real contrast in scenery coming out of Yosemite. Reminds me of working in the outbacks, WA Australia. A heavy cell would often go thru and wash one of our crew out while 5km up the road the other crew never got a drop - happened often. Congrats on the 1,000 mile mark Mari 👍
Sounds wild! Cheers Ben!
I love your videos :) thank you for sharing, I really appreciate your hard work 👏🏻🤗
I know that the snow must have been hard to hike in but it made the mountains extra beautiful, which you captured so well in your vlog.
Hi Mari....I am a recent subscriber to your channel. I found it after watching number of Andes treks in Peru last month. UA-cam showed your vlog on the Milford trek , I enjoyed the trek and the rest of your NZ travels along with your trusty sidekick Nick.
I am enjoying your PCT travels what next the Salcantay and Inca trail trek ?
Happy trekking !!
Welcome! Ooh not sure what's next yet - both of those sound good! :)
Some girls only wanna sit in restaurants and then there are global adventurers such as you! The world is so much bigger and more beautiful than what the travel agents would have us believe :)
Amen.
Nick's face looks slimmer after 1000 miles. I was going to ask what you do with the bear cans once you're done but you answered it at the end. I had no idea you could rent bear cans. Now I know!
pleaseeeee create a PCT soundtrack - song selection on every video is dope.
I've been meaning to do that for a while! I'll make the time to put it together soon :)
Another awesome video Mari I feel dumb I didnt know what a bear can was I had to google it lol
I am kind of happy your iPad broke. I was jonesing on the PCT, but now I can focus on your videos (which I actually find cinematically more pleasing than most.)
Yeah definitely turned out to be a blessing in disguise
2lbs 9oz gone!!!
The BV500 are a little heavier than others
I have a silly question! I’ve been wondering, when you’re doing a thru hike and you want to ditch gear, do you mail it to yourself or just leave it for other hikers? I’m assuming you mail it to yourself bc getting rid of gear could be super expensive if it’s still useful for another hike.
Mozzie's with snow around.
Never keen on contacts hiking. Feel frustration
Yay! 1000 miles! I am back in Kuala Lumpur after a 3 month trip back through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. I think it will either be Taiwan or Eastern Europe after this. Haven't decided yet. Cheers!
Ooh so exciting! Loving all the travel updates
💙 your vids Mari 👌👍
Such Awesome scenery!! Who sings the song in this episode?💖😊🐶🐶
"Every Mile" by Layup and "You've Got Me Running in Circles" by Sonny Cleveland
I guess that's why they put the Yosemite boundary where they did. The bleak landscape is not "park like"
Total hiker babe.
Hey Mari! How were you able to follow the trail with all the snow??
A lot of times there were other footprints already in the snow to follow (couldn't always be trusted though), otherwise we used gps on a phone app. And there are trail markers too :)
i so want to know what else you ditched here..... :D is there a post-PCT-gear video coming?
I didn't get rid of anything else there because I didn't want to pay to ship it. There will be a gear video out very soon!
@@mari.johnson thanks for the reply. Can't wait!!! :)
I was wondering what those are
Where did you get that straw attachment thing for your water bottle? I would love to get one!
It’s homemade! I show you how to make it in this video ua-cam.com/video/_FNTy-0j1GQ/v-deo.html
What's the closest that you've managed to get to a marmot? Also, has anyone youve met held one? I want one.
What happened to the 5th member of your group? Just noticed you’re down to 4
Good catch! He went ahead from Mammoth to get to Tahoe earlier. We saw him again there :)
Oh good! We’re all (at least I am 😂) very invested in seeing you all get to the end!! Thanks for making these amazing videos, Mari!
If the mosquitoes were so bad why didn’t u camp at another spot. Close to the water can be fun but then they come out. The higher u go no more of them.
If it were that easy to go somewhere without them, we would’ve!
Wuuuh
this is all nice and great music. but what about trash, what about your personal trips to the detriments or poor people fighting for live. travelling is polluting all the time and that seems to be your role?
I think thru hiking is probably one of the most eco-friendly ways of travel out there - besides the use of plastic food wrappers, the overall carbon footprint is very small.
Love your music!! Most enjoyable Vid. One of your best!
Aw thank you, Joyce!
