Help desk is great to get started, but easy to stay stuck on there.
Gotta cert up to get out. Cert for the role you're trying to be in.
So glad I found your channel! Thanks for the encouragement and helpful tips. I can tell you're sincere and are grounded in goals/growth!
Your voice is so soothing. Love your videos !
Thank you for this content, this is super helpful. Some times it´s hard to know where to start and this video helped me a lot.
This video helped me a lot. I’m starting to document my coding journey and the data analysis work that I do.
I feel so stuck on help desk and I've had trouble affording a home lab. Really enjoyed this video. Keep up the great work !
If it makes you feel better I still have never had a home lab. Try out the virtual options and with the popularity of cloud knowledge it might even get you MORE attention than using a traditional lab
@@DomsTechChat what if you have coding skills and are stuck in support because you keep failing interviews for software engineer roles?
Awesome content as usual. I am currently working a Help Desk job. I have been working here sense 2016 for a School District. It's pretty awesome, however I am ready for a transition. I currently have my A plus, Network Plus, and I'm going for my Security Plus next week. I actually want to transition into the Cyber Security field.
Security+ is a great step for Cyber Security! Especially for anything working with the government. Sometimes they require it for clearance
such a queen i love your vids!!! thank you ❤️❤️❤️
I would love to see a cloud tour. Thank you 🙏
Are you still going to do video on how to setup a lab? I really like how you explained things so far! I’ve been in a help desk position for six months so I’m trying to work on certifications right now seems like I’m on the right track. Just don’t really know what to do with labs lol.
I do want to do one on a virtual lab. But until then I know KevTech has some helpful lab videos you can check out
Doing helpdesk for several years, can't get out.
This happened to o got stuck for 5 years now i got a security plus don’t let people keep u at one spot
How did you find those extra projects at work?
Can you please do a video on Microsoft cloud labs
I will definitely add that to my list. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching!
What certs does an Admin Sys need?
Every Admin job i see is asking for mcsa and ccna, I’m also seeing them asking for sql more often
honestly, im just trying to get into a help desk role so i can just get my foot in the door but I keep getting passed up and I have no clue why.
You can also start in another support role, like for a software company as a customer support analyst. This is how I got my start and it made my salary much higher going into service desk.
I am on help desk September 5 will be one year I don't have any certificate. So what should i do to get ahead so i am not staying there forever i have a coworker that been there for four years. Let me know
I am in a similar position than you. Where you able to get out of the help desk?
Where would I begin in a career in Tech Writing? What certs?
Here’s a great free course google is offering for technical writing: developers.google.com/tech-writing?hl=en
@@DomsTechChatHow about QA or Software Testing? I was looking at Udemy courses
Do u suggest getting certified on Udemy
@@barringtonmorris90 oh wow ! They have such expensive courses to not be accredited! Wow. What about LinkedIn Learning?
Of course there are classes and courses on Udemy and other learning sites. But for certs of course you’ll have to try to pass the exams. Sometimes a course itself can help. But main thing is about building up your resume to be robust.
Sometimes entry level is a dead end.
When are you doing more videos, hahaha, jus sayin
Why would anyone want to break free from the Help Desk and downgrade themselves to some other IT job?
im ready to geek out yall....hardcore! plus im super likeable people just love me and also. I step up. I take notes. I'm okay really. sniff.... sniff.....I"M FINE!!! ! sniff..
Yes, labs definitely help. You can talk about it in a job interview. You can also add those new skills to your resume and make you stand out. Good video!
Thanks so much!
