"Hey Guys" that's funny lol. I'm going to try that technique, helps take the emotions out of it, less chance of errors, and seems stress free, thank you.
I've been doing the 2R AON for a few weeks now with the bracket, but my goal for this week is to actually walk away and not watch. Had a taste of it last week w/ a 5' 3B on NBEV. I entered the trade..went to start some dinner, came back 10 min later to check on things and it was 1 cent from target. :) I like everything about this idea. Thanks, Anmol!
THANK YOUUUUUUUU sooooooooo much. This makes soooo much sense. It is worth a try to test out and compare with my trailing stop strategy. The key to what he said is it Eliminates regret and mental drain and change of strategy. Time that can be used with back testing.
" Hey Guys" Thanks so much guys, It took me some time to realize that my active trading was costing me money. When I looked back at the details it was an eye opener. Thanks for your help.
Please get us more on your criteria for stock picking. Thank you. I am working on the SET and FORGET. That is the only reason that is holding me back !!!! Love your work, both Jared and you!!!
Awesome Anmol, love you and Jared's videos. Keep them coming! I think I want to trade a combination of this type of all day trading with swing trading. You can check up on your trades around 3:00 and make adjustments and if the trade continues in your favor keep a few shares for a swing trade into the next day. I trade with the TOS platform on TD Ameritrade and it's free commissions but not the fastest fill rates so it's difficult to scalp and trade the opens so this is right up my alley since slower fills might not be as critical with this. Thanks again!
Andranik Militosian I’ll look into that tnx. So they have fast fill times? And can you use hot keys to partial out say 1/2 or 1/4 size? I know DAS trader is quick and has hit keys but $150 a month is a little steep
@@Mike241971 Not sure - I have clumsy fingers so was never comfortable using hot keys. All I can say is their platform is really advanced probably one of the most advanced ones out there and can do a lot so it can be a little overwhelming at 1st but I am sure you can probably set that up.
Bracket orders are pretty much the only way i trade now. You get the best of 'investing' (where you dont constantly look at the charts, and money works for you,) plus the benefits of trading by constantly making more money, building your stack bit by bit.
I like the fact that you literally showed how you go about placing the order. I use bracket orders but I think a lot of the education on like talks about and explains about things but doesn’t literally show how to, and for people that are visual or more tactile learners literally showing how makes all the difference. Wish I would have seen this before I started trading. Thank you for all the info definitely going to try your system. QUESTION. Do you ever look at the stock and the end of the day that hasn’t hit stop or mark and decide to hold for a swing?
That's how I want to live as a trader...staring at a computer all day is just another job...not a lifestyle improvement! Keep your discipline and structure and trade smart! Nice video and perspectives!
Based on the Delta you can see what the option would be worth when it goes down to stop loss and calculate contract size accordingly. The Option Course has a spreadsheet that comes with it that provides sizing details.
Can a bracket order cancel an order if the stock hits the stop first versus hitting the entry first? Iʻm thinking you might need a "contingent" order connected to a "one -triggers-OCO". "one-triggers-OCO" handles everything, but the stock hitting the stop first. We are taught to cancel the trade if the stock hits the stop first.
Turned my girlfriend onto this and she wants to follow you and learn more about your swing trading like this mainly. This hooked her! She can’t sit and watch candles form lol.
Anmol... 12:50 Do you mean whenever you see patterns regardless any time frame you place bracket order and let them run by them selves the next coming hours, days? Found it frustrating emotionally some days to be active and stair at the screen placing orders so maybe this can help now and then.
Thank you Anmol. Makes logical sense. Struggling to make money consistently in my small 5k cash account. Committed after finding your video last evening today to follow your “ Set it Forget it “ Strategy. Made 58.00 today Took 3 trades, 2 wins. Following You and Jared is making me a better trader. I believe Your Set it Forget it strategy and Taking maximum 10.00 losses and setting 2r goal will further enable to continue my process of becoming a profitable professional day trader.
There is alot going on there with the bracket order before the market opens and it's not easy to do a quick ATR Check as your eyes scan level 2 and type in the order box on open . Getting used to it but I can see you are hinting at swing trades so level 2 is not such a concern. Watch less then scan more ; great job Anmol. You guys are lots of fun.
Further to your presentation which was excellent, can you detail your strategy for Swing trading, such as stock screening criteria, patterns, trade management, and etc?
Sounds great, but difficult to imagine how this works in a volatile market: 1. What is your experience regards to Win/Loss ratio, does it make sense to place bracket orders before the market opens and shoot for the initial run or sell-off? Or the Win/Loss ratio will be better by placing oders only after 5-15-30 minutes after the open? 2. Usually the entry price is easy to determine. However, the market is moving fast or sometimes the patterns show up "too late", so before transmitting the bracket order the stop price, the target price and therefore the share size needs to be adjusted (again) to keep the Risk roughly constant. This takes time How do you have time for adjusting your stops and and share size in a volatile market? Or you play only on higher time frames like 15-30-60 minutes, and this startegy does not fit to 2-5 minutes time frames? Thanks
I dont trade pre market so no orders before market opens. You wait for the market to open and then actually wait for a pattern to setup and then you place orders appropriately for that pattern. Share sizing needs to be done based on $Risk on the trade also known as R unit.
Hi Anmol, thanks for this awesome video! I mostly do swing trades, as I'm not good at managing the trades and watching all the time. But I'm going to try your strategy because that suits my time frame and personality well. I'm going to test it out with small risks. It's so insightful and eye opening for me. BTW, love the funny opening! Thanks a lot!
Great content! Quick question, how do you scan for gaps in the pre-market? Can you do dollar gainers and losers in the IB as Jared do in the TS platform? In IB I could only scan by % not by $ changes. Again, thanks for the content!
I am lucky to be learning this before I have even started trading. And when I do start with real money I will have an R of just $10 a trade (as recommended by Live Traders). So emotionally it will be much easier to just let it go. I know this will change when I eventually move up to $25, $100, $500 R values but by learning this behavior early and knowing that the plan works I hope to avoid the emotional pitfalls.
Thank you for that great video. Takes a lot of stress out of trading. One question: How do you place your limit orders? How do you choose what price you will enter? Thanks.
That is based on the pattern is is setting up. So limit orders are mostly used for entering into Pull backs , Buy setups or Sell setups. For most other trades, Stop Limit is used.
Anmol - question - closing it at the end of day if it doesn't hit target - how many minutes before close as you might get a squeeze or selloff in the last few minutes?
Thanks for the great video Anmol. In your example you bought using a LMT order within your bracket order. I've heard Jared say to use a STP LMT order for the purchase part of the order, which do you usually use?
Stop Limit is the way to go for 99% of the times. I sometimes use Limit to get into pullbacks. When i am anticipating which is most of the time. I use Stop Market. But Stop Limit is always best for most people.
Hi Anmol...another great video. I definitely like the idea of AON bracket orders. I happen to trade indexes at the moment and not stocks. I was wondering if the same rules would apply. For example using a 2:1 AON strategy to trade the ES or NQ.
Great content Anmol. I love the set it and forget it plan. I use it all the time, other wise I will mess with it until I make it stop out. Set it up and move on.. :)
Hey Anmol, good job done .You and Jared together is a double win. My questions are these: Bracket orders best set before the market open ? i know that could be a bit easier . What about placing this bracket order when the market opened and stocks moving fast? how can you catch the move? Thanks again and let these tutorials keep coming.
For swing trades, i do place my orders before the market opens. But for daytrades, We have to wait for the market to open and find a tradeable pattern first.
Heyo! Wouldn't you want a stop limit order as your entry instead of a limit order (for trade entry when your target entry price is hit!?)? That way you can setup your 3 part bracket and everything is handled??
how about those of us that add to our winners? i usually add at 1R. what is your advice for us? i am currently using your tracking strategy but i am only a few trades in.
Trading is so lower stress this way and my results are better. Just today I won a trade for 3R that initially went 1.5 then barely missed my stop before ripping higher. I'd have moved my stop up in the past but no more!
I’m not there yet. You said if you know technical analysis and chart patterns and you’re still not profitable than this is the way to go but I’m taking the other approach and doing it backwards by learning prep and trade management and trade tracking and trade plan development first. I also learned how to place orders using the active trader ladder (TOS) with bracket orders and trailing stop losses. I don’t like the order entry dialog lol I like to see what profits and losses I’m locking in the P/L Open row. Can I learn all the prep and management first (all the boring stuff that will keep me in game is not so boring when you look at it like that) and then hit the technical analysis setups and patterns after I learn all that?
What about trading options, do you do the same? I find it hard because the value changes so quickly, so it's hard to even gauge what the brackets should be, even if I understand the greeks.
Only after i did backtesting and tracking my results for many years and then finally got sick and tired of being sick and tired and then just gave in and started trusting my plan and my statistics, It was not easy but you can get there with time and patience and will power.
Well what I am trying to say is. I have tried to do brackets orders before and have had orders not trigger at all do to stock gapping up and or down. I was just wondering if you had any advice on the subject of bracket orders and stock gapping how it may effect what stocks you choose to trade on a particular day?
I know you’re slammed but I had a question for you. If you have a moment. Considering market sentiment when I compare the stock I’m looking at with overall strength to nasdaq, s&p and dji (using the “compare” indicator on TOS) does the stock have to be above all three in order to be considered strong positive sentiment? Or am I looking at it wrong and need to look at the the degree in which the stock is currently trading over the last few bars?
Woah.. I havnt came across this bracket order strategy yet, and as someone who works a full time career and struggles with watching stocks during the day this is an eye opener. Definitely going to try this. I left IB a while back and went back to Questrade (I’m Canadian ) I’m wondering if they have these Bracket orders . Two questions, what time frame do u use and find best for setting this strategy? And Do you suggest placing these orders before market opens or when? Thanks great Video!!
I'm sure you know this by now, but all features of bracket orders are available in Questrade. I also work full time so setting up my orders on the daily looks like it will work for me. How have the last 6 months of this strwtegy worked out for you?

Not reccomended. But you can set alerts on the stock. so if a stock hits your target or stop loss you get an alert to exit the option manually

Quick question, how do you scan for gaps in the pre-market?
Can you do dollar gainers and losers in the IB as Jared do in the TS platform? In IB I could only scan by % not by $ changes.
Again, thanks for the content!
I scan for gaps using various methods. I have a Live traders gap scanner that gives me a list of stocks to go through each morning to pik my list.
One question: How do
you place your limit orders? How do you choose what price you will enter? Thanks.
That is based on the pattern is is setting up. So limit orders are mostly used for entering into Pull backs , Buy setups or Sell setups. For most other trades, Stop Limit is used.
Anmol - question - closing it at the end of day if it doesn't hit target - how many minutes before close as you might get a squeeze or selloff in the last few minutes?
I usually close them at 3:55pm EST so 5mins before market close.
Guys, do you explain on PDT how to search/research such orders?
I have watched you and Jared talk about the stop losses and maybe I missed it but may I ask what your thoughts in regards to trailing stop losses?
I only like trailing stops based on charts and not random trailing stops but that too if you have actually tracked how they do against not trailing it
I thought it was glitching. Great video.
Lol , Thanks
Hey Anmol, so do you do brackets every single time? Never manage pivots, or add stock if it's booming? Never get more than 2R?
Yup always bracket order for me
Hi Anmol...another great video. I definitely like the idea of AON bracket orders. I happen to trade indexes at the moment and not stocks. I was wondering if the same rules would apply. For example using a 2:1 AON strategy to trade the ES or NQ.
Yes same can apply on everything that is trade-able. But key is to track it and see how that does overtime.

all out on target, 1 entry, 1 exit.

That is correct, Stop limit for trades you are waiting for to trigger. Stocks you are looking to get in on a pullback or bounce you use limit.
how about those of us that add to our winners? i usually add at 1R. what is your advice for us? i am currently using your tracking strategy but i am only a few trades in.
Best advice for everything is to Track both and compare after 3-6 Months and use whatever worked the best over that time.

How much you risk per trade, and how much risk exposure in total you can take per day (active trades per day max)?
Usually $800-$1000 per trade
What about trading options, do you do the same? I find it hard because the value changes so quickly, so it's hard to even gauge what the brackets should be, even if I understand the greeks.
I should be clear. I have been trying to day trade SPY options that are either same day or a few days until expiration.

Glad you enjoyed it!.....You have to wait for a pattern first before placing orders. I am not aware of Questreade so cannt comment on that
I'm sure you know this by now, but all features of bracket orders are available in Questrade. I also work full time so setting up my orders on the daily looks like it will work for me. How have the last 6 months of this strwtegy worked out for you?
