One of the best English language films of a landmark decade of film. Beautifully photographed, nice acting with Hemmings, Miles, and Redgrave, and very few directors had an eye like Antonioni. What he does with this short story by Cortazar is very rare: he actually improves the original. In my opinion, the last five minutes of this film--with the silent mime tennis match--was one of the highlights of world cinema in that decade.

For some people the plot is irrelevant. What I wonder is what is beneath the surface? Something very profound, I'm sure.

Apparently Antonioni demanded that the grass would be painted as green as the fence for this shoot. LMFAO.

the grey haired man is standing there at the beginning of the clip, so how did Hemmings photograph him lying dead on the ground?

I purchased the DVD of this movie a few years ago and only watched it once, then I gave it away. I can't believe there's so much fawning over this film. It's very dull. Scrawny Hemmings bullies scrawny models, all of whom could take him if they just worked as a group! Then he makes some enlargements of a photo... The End.
    Nonsense.
