They are changing the characteristics of the character of Trina from the way she dresses to the way she wears her hair to accommodate thus storyline in my opinion. FV and his writers have her acting like a starry eyed teenager instead of the self reliant young women we have watched her grow into despite her trials and tribulations.
Kai should at least honor his promise to complete the art project. I also think it would be good for him to continue his education at this time. Otherwise, he's just spinning his wheels while he's trying to figure things out. They mentioned he still has his sports scholarship, even though he can't play. It'd be good for him to keep busy to a productive end.
