This is what we will hear again shortly in 2023…boom boop slowly becoming that sound again ✊🏽
The more I hear of Kev the more I like him. His beats are so clean.
people dont realize - the dillas, pete rocks, kev browns, damus etc. of the world are the Mozarts and Beethovens of today. beat making is more than just the playing of an instrument (sampler), it is composing music.
This is nothing short of GENIUS!!!!!!!
1 AM eyes begin to flutter// Words on my research paper start to stutter// But the flow stays smooth like butter// Was listening to some Blu and Exile// Kev Brown lays down the beat like textiles// Just needed a break from all that ecology// This is the way hip hop ought to be// Soul// Make room for it to grow// Forget all your woes// It was great for 4 minutes and 44 seconds// Encore!!//I may just have to come back for seconds// There's something you're forgetting// Remember to chill bretheren
Kev Brown is a beast....got all of his work....nuff said
This is truly the sound of utter perfection..... hands down.... end of story... one word... only one word..... Perfection.
Hands down one of the best to ever do it.
Such a great musician
Kev’s basslines and chop game is ridiculous
the underrated GOAT
The theme of this song is come clean and correct
This is exactly how you're supposed to make a hip hop/R&B beat. This should be taught in universities.
9th Wonder actually teaches at a university if I'm not mistaken
They teach it right here in Chicago @ Columbia University. and a few others studios that do real recordings & have classes at the same time .
There ain't no formula for soul music. It's a feeling and groove that comes from deep within. You can't teach that...
Mark Bijasa true : you can be taught how to work the equipment but to be dope "is on you"
Tell that to Ryan little. That guy is falling off and making all of this new stupid murder music mumble rap garbage beats. I tried to warn him but he doesn’t get it.
yo, I went on google, typed in best hip-hop producers, and the first thing that popped up were these 5 guys that I have NEVER EVEN HEARD OF BEOFRE. I researched their work, and it turns out that they were working with people like 2 chainz, Drake, rick rock, Jeezy, etc. Obviously the major record labels are catering to ignorance and bull shit, it wasn't always like that though... In the mainstream, we have Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore, Eminem who hold it down, but none of THEIR producers were mentioned. WE must raise awareness! Real hip-hop will be here FOREVER. Wackness starts high but ALWAYS FADES.
Space Urchin m
word up fella
hardest shit i ever heard
This was a remix Kev blessed my project Low Budget Soul with. Eternally grateful for this one! The original track was called Low Budget Soul - When I Call ft Marcia Escoffery.
+trzarector love that track dude rock on
Lol this is crazy, I'm and Escoffery! The world is such a small place!
Forget the debates this instrumental is just nice to listen to top favs right now
Exactly. Plus let's be real on another thing - there are many other incredibly talented individuals across the whole music scene, not just hiphop.
I rediscovered these beats today. It's been too long, how could i forget this soul food?
Me, today!
The flow is awesome go Kev.

I like other Kev Beats more than this one, like Always. But this is his best composition I think...
What was I even talking about? This is insanely good... Always is a masterpiece, but at this point in my life, 9 years later, I enjoy this beat more!

So when I call you shorty, please pick up
My life been mixed up, I've gone through some hiccups
But catching breath, and breathing fire like a dragon
Has got me combin heights I would've never have imagined
I wish you could see the way I write now
Pen like a virus how, everything infected when selecting what I'm writing down
With a message
With perfection I, know my directives
am I a man?
Am I selective with the people I allow to
Make promises and fall through?
Prolly not, something that we all do
We all got screws loose, watch me fall through
A noose, whose
This makes me want to do some beats again.
Couldn't agree more man da'real!!!!
KEV, da of Bassline. Fuck, this joint is about to leave me with a twisted neck. Damn!
DOPE
Beauty.
this shit smooth as hell...fire
It's generally true what you are saying. But just two things: First of all, not all beats made with samples are made in a minute, it can take many more weeks than you can imagine. Secondly, the thing about sampling is that in many cases, it can't be replaced by playing the actual instruments involved. It all comes down to how you do it.
i get wot your sayin, but the nature of hip hop production is sampling and taking influences from old records and genres, so they would probably work their magic through sampling.
Help!! Get me outta here!!! I can't leave this page... This beat is awesome!!
Aww man, I thought we could be such good pals.
love rap music but it's true
Hello Love.. won't you answer When I Call On.
Want you to be there for Me, When it's All Wrong.
Want you to be my autumn Breeze, When the Falls Gone.
And cuddle under a Tree, humming Soft Songs.
So Hello Love.. Won't you be there When I Call On
I want for you to be the One my kids Call Mom.
Have a daughter or a Son we can Call Tom.
Visit Paris, visit London or even Hong Kong.

Kev Brown - Instrumentals Part One
No, the musicians of the day are the Beethovens and Mozarts of the day lol, but to each their own I guess. You gotta think of who the next generations are going to sample......
yeh son fuckin iiiiiiiiillllll!!
hossa off the post king cobra envelop wrote the dope down dully noted.
do you have a high quality version
May I use this? Full credit goes back to you, I just want this so badly for mi amor n myself..
Take a closer look at the pads.
no dislikes
Doesn't really blow my mind. Listen to Bonobo or Caural or Prefuse 73 and then come back to this.
they trippy, but they´re not hip hop
jonathan dane This is cut up like Prefuse 73, but less random and blippy. I don't consider this really hip-hop either.
Eric Lindgren which song by Prefuse 73?
Anything on "One Word Extinguisher"
It's an instrumental, and definitely still hip-hop if you put words to the rhythm. In a sense, this is as pure hip-hop as it gets 'cause it's just the bare bones. You have to provide the flows.... rappin over beats like this is how mc's get started.
"The sample's the flesh and the beat's the skeleton" -Vast Aire
this is my fav beat in the world, can some one hit me up with the samples from this beat?
THIS
Hey shawty.. I just thought that take you to my Small Hood
Show you what's up ma, show you everythings S'all Good
Wanna get to know you, show you this ain't FalseHood.
Maybe grab your friends, and maybe we All Could..
Hit the cornerstore, then the Ave. on the Block Fronting.
Chilling on the stoop, telling kids to Stop Running.
We could be hood rich, or pretend like we Got Nothing.
Or we could go inside to my pad for some Hot Loving.
Those pads where beated to death, and yes that pun was intended
