A comment from the US: I like the shot at 0:40 where the receive antenna is changing polarity. I realize you folks in the UK had TV transmission sites operating at both H & V. To someone in the states it looks odd. Then again, I am a ham and we routinely use H and V polarity depending on what you're trying to do in the VHF/UHF bands (sideband is generally H pol, while mobile FM operation is almost always V pol).
@darryllharden9141You mean the Yeomen of the Guard? I am an amateur string player in an orchestra and possess a musical background, so know what I'm talking about!
I bunked off school for this 24th March 1983 I think this was broadcast! This had nothing to do with politics just the then IBA wanting to start a broadcast breakfast franchise and getting it wrong! HAPPY DAYS! OFFCOM got ITV Breakfast right! GOD BLESS1
So you reckon this is from 1983, do you? Well, I think you're wrong because there are clips from 1989 And, based on what you said, I've dated it 1983...shame on you!

I loved the ghosting as long as it was not too bad, analogue served us well.
Boy, I wasn't expecting to hear some Greek London Radio in that video...
Maggie Thatcher and the 1990 Broadcasting Act - the death of ITV the IBA and independent local radio.
End of an era for sure
ITA, IBA, ITC. I will forget OFCOM.
I don't know where this was recorded, but wherever the location was they certainly needed a tv relay station nearby to provide ghost free reception.
I remember 'Monday's Newcomers'! They were the new adverts for that week.
Ah..the ghosting.I dont miss that.Thanks.
What was the orchestral piece they used to broadcast in the 1990s in the few minutes before the engineering announcements?
It was Gilbert and Sullivan's The Guard Of The Yeomen.
