    Hello dear, thanks for the lovely video... I was just wondering if it’s okay for me to use buttercream to cover the cake? Would it firm-up well?

    • @Shakarbakery
      @Shakarbakery  4 роки тому +1

      Hi! It would firm up but I never thought buttercream provides the same stability as ganache since the melting point of butter is lower than chocolate. Make sure to add a thick layer of buttercream so it keeps the cake supported! I would keep the cake layer filling on the thin side so you dont add weight inside the cake. Good luck!

      carebear B Hi! so 4" is small. I would start at 20 min at 350 and check the center to see if it's baked. use a skewer. It has to co.e out dry. keep baking until It's firm

    At what temperature do you cook the ball. Mine always sinks and it’s so frustrating. Thanks

    • @Shakarbakery
      @Shakarbakery  3 роки тому

      330 or 350 F. If its sinking it might have to do more with how you're mixing the batter and less with the heat. Also check your ingredients like baking powder arent old

    What was the white layer you placed between each sphere?

  • @barbiegarcia210

    Would I need dowels if the sphere was smaller like a 4 or 6"?

    • @Shakarbakery
      @Shakarbakery  4 роки тому +2

      Hi! I would recommend it dowels since it helps keep the sphere stable! Especially in the 6" sphere! If you're using styrofoam as the bottom hemisphere then you wont need dowels, but if you're doing a full cake sphere then definitely. It helps avoid collapse of the cake. Good luck!!!

    • @Shakarbakery

      Hi!push down on it like I do in the video (using a cake board) to see if you are distributing the weight evenly. You shouldn't see the cake bulge in any way. This is a good way to see if the bottom tier can hold proper weight of the top tiers.

    ok sub...and ..like..and ...share...and tanx. ..but why u put btwen cakes paper 😯

    • @Shakarbakery
      @Shakarbakery  8 років тому +1

      +‫ركن سمارة Kahia‬‎ Hi! I put a cake board for 2 reasons (it's not paper, it's cardboard):
      1. to be able to use dowels. If I don't put cardboard the dowel cuts through to the top tier and it will make the cake collapse
      2. Makes the cake easier to cut and serve
      hope that helps! thanks for watching!

    a little disappointed you used a sphere cake pan. I dont have one and dont want to buy one. Need a video on how to make this from scratch.

    • @Shakarbakery
      @Shakarbakery  5 років тому

      You can carve it but that's a waste of cake. You have to carve A LOT of cake to achieve a sphere.

      Use metal bowls! Or Pyrex ones. I do this all the time, you just have to make up for the bit of flatness at the base.
