    I like smaller Rollers for lower plate volts/mA level currents. I learn a lot from your vids, thanks for posting.

      In any application , output network , input network , antenna tuner , where the inductor sees frequent adjustment . An open open will most likely cause damage to the source being put into into it.
      I see a lot of amps that come in for repair that had an antenna tuner variable inductor open connection
      I avoid them like the plague

      No comparison to a variable inductor vrs progressively shorting rotary switch
      One is just easier to setup then the other
