Gabriela Valentini’s fatal crash 2023

- During the Parana State Velocross Championship, Gabriela Valentini would suddenly go over her handlebars and slam into the ground on a turn, the bike then flew and hit her, she died shortly after been taken to the hospital.
There's something so haunting seeing someone still slightly moving after an accident caught on tape, knowing they died just later. RIP Gabriela Valentini
It is terrible, but is at the end dead? It seems that it was hard crash but not so hard to cost his life.
@@childofcascadia So sad.....
@@MegaEnduras Seems she died later in hospital. Most likely a brain injury from impact or extreme deceleration
@@MegaEnduras The description says the twirling motorcycle also hit her.
@@carlcushmanhybels8159 Yes my friend...so sad.
Having a 220 pound weight slammed into your body at those speeds will break, rupture and crush most things in it's path. It's very rare, but always a danger. RIP Gabriela
I flipped a 400 lb street bike trying to stop before I rear ended a brake checker, and I think it might have fallen on me because I had a broken hip and the craziest bruise I've ever seen.
Was trying what caused the fatality. It just looked like she flipped over and that's it. Thought she broke her neck upon impact
@@rroberts2023 if you look at it closely, I believe the bike flipped and landed right on helmet area!
@@aluisious Better to be wrong than be right in the back of the ambulance; that's what my motorcycle instructor taught me when sitting/riding for my test. Glad you're still with us.
The one thing that pisses me off is they make us Women ride these big bikes. We don't get a choice. I said the Hell with it & moved back down to a KX100. I'll just race where we do have choices.
Very sad. I lost a good friend 26 years ago in a very similar way. Ironically, It's the better riders that suffer the most from a crash like this. They will stay on the bike longer
than they should because they believe that they can save it. RIP Gabriela Valentini
oh yeah, i came from a mtb background into motocross and the very first thing my coach said was whenever shit hits the fan just let the bike go immediately.
instead of saying fuck it and jump the ship.... plus they have more acidents cuz they are adrenaline junkies .... but its sad to see stuf like this
I was an expert and pro am in the national's there is no making any rhyme or reason to a crash just in my experience
@johnny cash what happened to her bike? Usually if you get blocked front wheel, its slips of aside.
I don't agree totally. I think it is best overall to try to save it, hang onto the bars as long as you can. On an endo like this, you don't have much choice. But I have tamed a few bikes when they put me into a rodeo ride. I was glad I saved it.
Truly a brutal crash. RIP. My condolences to his family, friends, and team.
Her...
Brutal.. She locked up the front break and the bike smashed her into the dirt... That was incredibly stupid.
Unfortunately I think she got a handful of front brake, and her body position was forward and not stacked for the terrain nor the upcoming turn. RIP from an ex-motocrosser in Texas.
Not what it looks like to me.. Looks like she caught a kicker bump that sent her over the bars.
@@racerx143 if you slow it down, very obvious with rotation of the bike that it was use of front brake, aswell as front dancing around due to not being balanced or rough terrain.
@@cay378 Who knows in this case.. but I've never had a front tire tank slap from a locked brake. A rotating tire will though. And from looking this girl up, she was a damn good rider and a good rider isn't going to lock up the front brake like that. Fully looks to me like she got rebounded over the bars from either the front or rear tire (or both) catching an edge and throwing her off balance. I've been there...
@@racerx143 i disagree it looks to me like a total front wheel lock up with body position way forward ...maybe caliper froze up when she used it....axle broke or something like that maybe a bearing failure....idk but it was definitely caused in the front end...big rock we cant see or something.
@@racerx143 It looks like she hit a clothesline ... I know that is impossible but the bike's reaction to one would be nearly the same. Strangest crash I've ever seen ..
She was just a kid chasing the dream. This goes to show that this sport is one of the most hardcore things out there. May she rest in peace.
lmao she should have stuck to feminine things instead of trying to compensate for lack of self worth trying to emulate a man.

I am a physician. I wish everyone knew that if you break your neck at the C3 level or above, the immediate cause of death is paralysis of the diaphragm you may still be awake, but you can’t breathe if this is the case by standard CPR or even just bystander mouth-to-mouth might save the victim. if there were no other critical injuries like that bodybuilder that did the back flip on stage. He broke his neck. Nobody used mouth-to-mouth he could have saved him possibly at least keep you alive, but probably quadriplegic
Oh! The poor kid. I feel so bad for her and her family. RIP and Godspeed Gabriela.
I had a similar crash at a loretta Lynn regional back in 2006, just speed wobbled a bit and lost it in the braking bumps. Walked away easily, never crossed my mind that this could of been the same outcome for myself. RIP, so sad.
I did tank slapper in my early 20s. Head, Cervical Spine, Lungs, Etc... Almost kilt me...
Why is there no explanation of her front brake locking up?
Panic braking
Absolutely no good reason why anybody needs to see all of this video. May God Bless this young lady and her family. R.I.P.
...if you look at the crash frame by frame, it looks as if the spokes (or axle - as someone else mentioned) just gave out suddenly... It appears her arms are still straight on the handlebars, when the wheel is suddenly sideways, and stay relatively straight throughout... and when the bike is flipping in the air, it looks like the front wheel is way out of round... ... Freak accident ~ So Sad....
Dang, that was a tough one to watch. Rest in peace, Gabriela.
My condolences to Gabriela's family and friends. May peace be upon Gabriela.
excellent grade A virtue signaling there Princess
Very sincere thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace.
What caused the bike to flip like that?
Maybe the front wheel got locked or something and the spinning momentum of the wheel caused the bike to flip forward?
@@GreenRobotCat6877 Looks like a stone or small packed mound right where the front tire was...speed and traction factors, so perhaps locking is possible. May she rest in peace.
To peole who are angry at the riders for not stopping: BECAUSE ITS A LIVE TRACK! it's very dangerous to do, especially in motorcycle racing, riders are taught not to stop until the red flag is waved. Riders also look far ahead into the next corner, etc, had someone stopped they could possibly not be seen and get killed. Please stop judging like that, they did the correct thing, doing otherwise would be putting other riders in danger. They did s right thing, and peobably rushed ybere when the race was stopped. Please dont judge like that when you have no clue how racing works. Stopping like that could cause far worse accident.
Wonder if a neck brace and a full ce chest protector would have helped.
As a father of 4 and life long rider, I have a hard time getting my kids riding knowing the pain or worse that comes with it eventually. Rest up. Not many go out doing what they want.
Same, you always hear that neck braces are collar-bone breakers but a few broken collar bones is worth the rest of your life for sure
Life long rider/racer here also from 1976. I don't have kids, but I would not let them get into racing MX. Trail riding/enduro on 2-strokes, OK. But the fact is the EPA forced 4-stroke made the bikes faster, and the tracks about 30% faster. "Saving the Planet", is costing lives, and we can't sue the state.
Same, one of my four kids has natural talent and would be an excellent racer, but we're sticking the trail riding for now...
@@EarthSurferUSAJust watched this video for the first time, and I made the exact same comment you did about the bikes being faster before I Read yours. It was actually in an article somewhere talking about the severity of crashes now a days vs from the late 90’s into the early 2000’s, and they theorized that’s it’s due to the speed and power of modern 4 strokes. And I completely agree. I quit riding in 2005, on a 4 stroke, my first one, and I remember how much faster it was compared to my last 2 stroke, so I can’t even imagine how much faster the 2022-2023 bikes are.

Poor thing. Ride in Paradise. God Bless.
Makes me realize how lucky I was
Had a 400-500lb 4wheeler do me that way on blacktop at top speed without a helmet at 15 years old.
Was hit in the rear by a sport quad doing 70-80mph while I was doing 45-50. His front tire went up over my rear tire, came through the front of my rear fender plastics pinning my leg between the fenders, picked up the whole rear of my four wheeler flipping it end over end, nose first. Onto solid blacktop. The back rack hit me in the back of the head as it came forward and I came back, and drove me face first into the blacktop. I was on top, on bottom, with 4 wheeler on top , on bottom again, and on top again before it stopped on its side on top of me. I looked like a rag doll riding a bull then it riding me, I bit half my tongue in half, pushed my teeth through my lips, top and bottom, tore my nose half off, 50 stitches, a broken elbow later, and a shit ton of road rash. I walked out of the hospital and began a 2 month long healing process.
The ER MD and the bone specialist for my arm, both said if I’d have had been wearing a helmet it would have killed me, or I’d have never walked again, snapping my neck, at the back with the way I bent. Or have breaking my neck. Said that it was one time the person was lucky for not wearing a helmet, allowing my neck not to catch at the back and rolling with my body, ironically a guy who was brought in right before me passed on the medivac flight, from flipping one without a helmet on and a helmet would’ve saved his life.
I was lucky he wasn’t.
With these machines and speeds you just never know.
When it’s your time, it’s your time.

A neck brace can keep your neck stable in crashes and avoid C-Spine injuries like this.

It would be hard for me to a racer seeing someone down with no movement. I would definitely stop and try to help if I could no matter the outcome my team would have for me after the race

This is horrible to watch. I crashed in a similar way smashing my face and sustaining multiple injuries. I still have the scars, but this poor guy lost his life. 😢😢😢
Let me explain something to everyone. In motocross racing, if there's a severe crash like that, riders can't just stop and render aide. For one, they're not qualified to help in that situation, and also, if a rider suddenly stops, it could cause chain reaction with the other riders.
I love how no one stopped to help
They got a race to win! What were they supposed to do, jump down and hold her limp hand?
@@dathorndike4908 wdym - no race to win anymore? ofc any event will be cancelled and points not be counted after an accident like this. what are they supposed to do? idk maybe check her situation, make sure medics are on the way and nobody else is crashing into her?
they were just in shock and unable to react. otherwise most of them would have stopped im sure.
To all the disrespectful trash talkers, who posted mean spirited comments like how did that mild crash kill the dude...i have been thru worse. One : it wasnt a dude, if the first name didnt give it away the shape of her body certainly should have. She was a 17 brazilian female motocross rider who died from that horrible crash. Cant u see it was a high speed section on a hard bluegroove type track. It appears,to me she was Deaccelerating going into a turn and front wheel caught a hard rut that yanked the bars out of her grip than almost instantly went into a tank slapper until it locked to steering stop or close enough to Catapault her off bike slamming her into the hard, baked clay almost concrete and while tumbling thru the air the 225 lbs piece of metal hit her at a high speed high impact. She died on the way to the hospital after rescue workers revived her while laying unconcious. The human body is extremely resilient and can withsrand a tremendous amoounts of force but only in certain areas, some areas like temple , a spot on your arm , internal injury, your neck and spine can be severley damaged with relitively minor inpact or force if hit at certain places angles. I was standing at Unadilla and saw jesse nelsons crash. It was not as violent as gabrielas he just was rolling tru a deep thick mud rut at maybe 20- 25 mph and caught a yellow plastic track corner/ boundry marker which caused his front wheel to jacknife and flip over frontwards pile driving him into the thick loamy soil head first as bike landed in top of him. Thats, all it took that instant to cause spinal injuries. Everytime u get out of bed and face the day you put yourself at risk from simple injury to Cstestrophic ones. Racing anything esspecially a motorcycle that can jump a hundred feet with ease . Consider yourselves fortunate that at this point in life u havnt suffered anything as severe. But dont think u are immune. Its only one wrong accident away and thats why being in shape strong core muscles ,flexibility and knowing how to roll in a flip or fall to lessen the impact. All good traits for atheletes of any sport.
That’s a woman by the way may she rest in peace😔
What a shame. R.I.P. 😪
My son raced motocross instead of "traditional" sports in high school. The football guys gave him crap about it...then my son said "How many players died at the football game last week? We only had one rider die at the races last week."...they never gave him crap again.
How is it that nobody stopped to help her? A place in a race seems to be more important that the suffering of a human being.
high speed, mud flying, sudden shock, reaction time. but it looks bad.
Probably why they have trained crews, onsite, to accomplish that very thing, huh?
ok some people werent stopping because of shock etc - others like cody might just think its not their job to help 💀

Dear God, may her soul finds peace.
Gut wrenching, especially watching the other riders go right by her body laying there.
Those kids need to learn about sportsmanship.
@BlakeGibbons
In the race, you don't really (sometimes you literally CANT) stop. You have to keep going, and just hope that the person will be fine.
@@BlakeGibbons To people with no experience it looks like poor sportsmanship but it's literally what you're taught to do. Don't stop unless it's a red, don't get in the way of the track workers or ems getting to someone, don't stop and clog the track and risk another wreck or yourself getting hit.... the list goes on why you don't stop in the middle of a track and just hop off
There’s also the issue of target fixation. These riders weren’t looking at her, but at everywhere else. You look at your escape route, not the crash or obstacle(s) in your path. Making the mistake of looking at her may have caused more crashes, possibly more injury and casualties. (And anyone who ran into her would be accused of being an idiot, dumb, dangerous, etc. possibly even blamed for her demise.)
So the riders who rode by probably never saw the gravity of the situation. And they did what all riders are trained to do.
Plus it’s a race, with everything mentioned above.
Actually they are doing the correct things. You NEVER stop on a live track, it creates danger to other riders, that could end up in another fatality for example. Don't say shit, when you have no clue please.@@BlakeGibbons
