Something I've been considering for a long time. I've not done IR since the film days. If you ever pick up an older AI/AI-S lens you'll notice a red dot on the barrel next to the focusing ring. That was so you could focus and then shift the focus (to the red dot) and have the perfect focus for the IR wavelength. I've considered pulling the trigger on my D70s every now and then, just could never bring myself to do it. Getting one already converted is probably a great idea. I would just go with the IR and not a full spectrum. You've reminded of something I've been thinking of for a very long time. Maybe it will happen.
I love your take on full spectrum. Reminds me of using film leader ir filters on my old point and shoot digitals. But with the full spectrum, have you ever had any issue with color rendering that was difficult to compensate for?
I can usually get some color rendering for full spectrum bug I have to use a proper white card and reset the custom white balance, as I usually have green as my white balance
I’ve also become a little obsessed with CCD sensors, and now my photography buddy has gotten us looking into full spectrum photography lol. I bought a d70s yesterday as well, so this video is exciting. Thank you!
@@PinkhatPhotography I was considering a d200 for a conversion as well. Would you still think the d70/s are better over the 200? And do you know how well they stack up for astrophotography? Thanks!
I don't have a ton of experience with the Nikon d200 l, especially when it comes to the conversion to full spectrum, as far as Astro photography is concerned depending on how long of an exposure you want the d200 has more low end iso than the d70, 100-1600 for the d200 200-1600 for the d70
@@PinkhatPhotography My first digital dreamcamera, but couldnt afford one then. You never forget your first love 💕 My second love, Fujifilm X-Pro1, I will keep in my camerabag.
What's with the irrelevant B-roll? It feels like you're afraid to be on the camera for too long. Maybe getting fitter will help? You know, trying to become how you view yourself in the channel art. Just saying.
Hahahahahahaha just don't always have a camera man! You should see my newer videos!! What's with being negative in the comments? Trying to feel superior???

I love full spectrum and ir photography, I think I'm going to have to do a lot more of it this summer

@@PinkhatPhotography makes sense. That was always my biggest concern for trying full spectrum in digital.
It is a lot of adjusting and practice, if you hit me up on Facebook I can share some of my full spectrum color work with you
@@PinkhatPhotography I'll definitely do that

Full spectrum photography is absolutely amazing!!! The d70 and d70s are the best candidates for the conversion too!

Great Video .. Thanks for the Info 👍
Thank you!!!
Hello, I want to ask you something. Is the D70s not able to see the image on LCD when going to shoot? Or is it only through the view finder?
It does not have live view so you do have to use the view finder for taking photos with the d70s
Love the pictures. Enjoyed the video. 😁
Thank you! it was such a fun project to try and see it succeed!
Just got one! Thanks for a great vid.
A full conversion?????
