What a perfect episode on a cold and rainy day. As I watched under a warm blanket, my stomach rumbled watching you both eat warm, steamy, Seattle treats. I’m so happy for you both. Soak it all up, preferably with sourdough bread. Keep up the great work and sacrificing the rain and wind to bring us ono Foodie Ohana content. ❤🤙🏽🌴☕️🥖🥣
Yes it is normally overcast and rainy this time of year. You guys seem to hit up all the touristy and iconic Seattle spots. One place to check out is Maneki in the international district. They’re the oldest Japanese restaurant in Seattle.
I moved from Seattle to South Central Kentucky (where my husband is from) because we wanted to be able to own a home without going into massive debt. But I was born and raised in Seattle. I go back about three times a year to visit my family and see the sights!! And because I miss the rainy, overcast weather. There is so much to see in the Chinatown-International District. Panama Hotel & Tea House is my favorite to get Hojicha Tea Lattes.
Pike Place Market - NO Pikes - no “s”.😊 Yes it drizzles, sprinkles, or rains a lot. Except for late June thru early September it is overcast and wet, with periods of sunshine.💨💧💦☔️☂️🌊
i GREW UP IN Seattle and it is commonly Cool and Overcast. Clear and sunny Days are more common in the Summer months. There may be rainy days, but the rain is usually very light and not heavy! I think late July to August has the better weather days! Next time, go to Pike Place Chowder or Lowells in the market!
I miss Pike Place after watching this! I am a local but haven't been down there in a few years. Chowder with a slice of sour dough bread sounds sooo good! Stay warm. I can't wait to see your next post!
Omg, you guys are so cute!! No, it’s not the rainy season. It averages rain 300 days out of the year. That’s why it’s so green. But summer and fall and FANTASTIC and BEAUTIFUL! I can’t wait to move over there, despite the rain.
You guys really lucked out! I've never seen such short lines at Pike Place. Piroshky with chowder is a must. The Gum Wall smells and looks disgusting, but ya gotta do it!
Yes, it didn't matter which season it was, we always got rained on. Peroski peroski is the first place we go to before it gets crowded. There was a Pakistani market nearby. I don't know if it's still there. We shared a bread bowl with clam chowder at one of the restaurants downstairs. We sat and watched the boats pass. We also ate gyros from a truck and dimsum. We ate our way through Pike's.
I am literally salivating while you guys were teasing us with the piroshky… I could imagined how great it tasted judging by your mmmmmm! expressions., enjoy your fun filled trip. Aloha!
I am from Seattle now living in Honolulu so it’s fun to see Pike Place market with you guys enjoying it. Want to let you know that it’s been raining in Honolulu for two days.
Next time you guys visit again, you have to try Oriental Mart in Pike Place Market. It’s looks like a hole in a wall, really small restaurant across the street from the Pike Place Fish Market. It’s been there like 40+ years. It serves classic Filipino food that’s been recognized by the James Beard Foundation. It’s really underrated.
What a fun video! As a Seattleite stuck across the country, you made me so homesick! You hit the best places! Market Spice is my favorite for great teas and spices. And yes, the weather is perfect for this time of year! Enjoy and mahalo!
So many things to do. Even if you had stayed 2 weeks you would still find more things to do so awesome job on going to so many places! Love your look Amanda!
Happy to see you guys in Seattle and finally getting off "the rock!" Went there in 2015. Looks like you did a lot of the good stuff already, but a few suggestions if you haven't already done so, assuming the uploads are delayed. At Pike's, try Lowell's for breakfast. I know you guys like eggs benedict, and they have a crab benedict to die for. Also a crab omelette. REAL crab....of course! Check out the Seattle Aquarium below the market along the bay (and ride the giant ferris wheel next door). You can walk there from Pike's. And, if you have time, a great pizza place at the Space Needle which I assume you are visiting. I think it's called MOD's. Can't visit Seattle without going to the Space Needle! You can take a souvenir photo there, too!
I hate to tell you this, but the rainy season in Seattle is January through December, with a small respite with sun for about a week in the middle of summer. lol. Ooh, I used to take improv classes right next to that coffee place down where the gum wall is. (There was no gum wall back then, as it started up after I left Seattle in the 90's.) If you're still in Seattle and can make it to Ballard (about 15 minutes north of downtown) head to Red Mill Burgers. Seriously good burgers. Or the local burger joint is called "Dick's Burgers", which is good. Or Burgermaster, which is a burger drive-in. Those all have locations in Ballard. They're not as good as B&B in SALT, but still Seattle local institutions. Oh, and Ivar's is a local fast-food fish place too. Not English fish and chips style, but still pretty good -- especially with their malt vinegar. They also have decent chowder. Oh, and just an FYI, but there is no "s" after "Pike". ;-) That's one of the ways we tell who is local to Seattle. Visitors always say "Pikes Place Market". Kinda like on Molokai how they can tell who grew up there because no one uses the okina on Molokai, but everyone outside of Molokai says "Moloka'i". lol.
Mahalo Mark! We are 💯 tourists! Only after editing did we realize we kept saying the name wrong 🤦🏻♀️ lol we wish we had your suggestions on burgers before we left 😢 we did go to one spot you mentions though 😉 lol We definitely chose a good time to go though, the perks of going during off season was short lines, cheaper hotel rates, and way less crowds! 🤙🏻
Welcome to Seattle! You guys are so nice and positive, you make it fun to watch for even Seattle natives. The weather actually looked pretty good for this time of year. I can't wait until we see your visit to Vancouver. In a lot of ways I like it better than Seattle especially downtown and Robson St.
Yay Lehua here! So glad your in my home state haven’t been back in years. I loved being able to watch y’all in Pikes Place. I’m Hawaiian from Seattle living in Alabama! Cheeehooo! Let’s go Ohana have fun in the 6 y’all!
Some places/stalls are not open in winter or are only open on weekends. Sadly, this time of year also means no fresh flowers at the market but it also means fewer crowds. That’s a worthy trade off. 😊
Yayy, can’t wait for more travel vlogs like these! I’ve actually caught the fish flying in one of my vlogs when I was there!! It’s always good to see your guys food reviews, so we know what’s good if any of your foodie ohana wants to visit there 😄 Man, everything looked so ʻono for that cold Seattle weather!! 😋🥶 Can’t be a video without Felix doing his crazy combos or Amanda dropping food 😝 So much good memories from my WA trip when watching this vid. Mahalos!
Moved my family to Seattle 7 years ago from Oahu. We moved here knowing that it rains a lot and gets cold. I think what makes it seem depressing here is that it is overcast most of the time. I don't get people that move here and complain about the rain because everyone knows that's how it is. It's like moving to Vegas and complaining that it's hot🤷♂️.
Yeah this time of year is rainy and overcast. Summer is really nice here too July-Sept lots of food trucks and events during seafair months in the summer
What an ideal place to stay in Seattle! You could probably do so many episodes at Pikes! Everything looked to good! Cant wait to see more! Thoroughly loved this one!! Mahalo! Stay warm!!💕😀
Wow love Pike's Place. Been 3x so much to do n see there. Putting that chowder place on my list if I ever go back. N yes it was gloomy or rainy when I went too.
Everything looked delicious! Glad you guys are enjoying your foodie adventure there. Though not at Pike Place but maybe close, a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island could be fun. That is if it's not too cold and rainy.
Awesome video guys. I actually went to Seattle for the first time in 2019 and I checked out pretty much everything you covered here. Great stuff and good memories. Looking forward to seeing what else you guys do.
got a new subscriber outta me! I lived in Seattle from 2016 till 2020 when I moved back to my home state of GA after my mom passed, I am currently planning on moving back June of this year 23' One thing I do miss the most... is the food! nothing like hot chowder on a cold rainy Seattle day! I'm glad you guys enjoyed your visit to my soon to be again home! You know there is also a Beechers inside of the SeaTac airport lol, it's located on the C concourse, though the one in downtown at the waterfront is the original location I believe.
Aloha Amanda & Felix. Absolutely love this tour of Pike Place Market, everything you ate looked yummy!!! I have tentative plans to visit an old friend of mine in Seattle in August, but for only 24 hrs (my neighbor is going to help w/my Mom, but only for a short period of time). I better lose a good chunk of weight before I go there because it looks like they have A LOT of delicious eats! So happy you are traveling and look forward to lots more of these types of videos!
Most people are surprised how steep the hills here are...so be prepared for that! Pro tip: during the week, you can often enter an office building tower on one street then take the escalator up to the lobby/exit on the higher street. And there is an elevator near the harbor steps in the parking garage and one near Pike Market... cuts out some of the heftier climbs.
Yes, the weather looks like that from November to March. And sometimes until July 4th (that's a locals joke). I know you are limited on time and space in your stomach, but you missed Kell's, where you might see a ghost or two, the Athenian, where Sleepless in Seattle was shot and Three Girls Bakery. If you went down the stairs to the water front, there's all the seafood places like Ivar's and Elliott's. If you come in mid-July the view of the bay at the market is phenomenal. Announce the next visit here and you'll get lots of suggestions for places to visit.
Love the channel....My wife and I will be visiting Honolulu, Oahu in March for her 40th Bday....Thanks for all the wonderful eateries and restaurants....looking forward to the delicious Hawaii eats
OMG, all that food looked SO GOOD! Never heard of that gum wall before -- was hilarious hearing you giggle like kids doing something naughty! *LOL* Looking forward to more adventures, thanks for taking the foodie ohana along, as always! (P.S. Tonkatsu Tamafuji lived up to the hype....can't wait to eat there again!)
@@AmandaFelixEats Just FYI Ivar's Salmon House is at the north end of Lake Union, and is not the one on the waterfront. the Salmon House is 3 restaurants in 1... a fancy restaurant, an indoor fast food spot (still closed from COVID I believe), and an outdoor fast food spot on the water. Both the Salmon House and the waterfront Acres of Clams are great places for feeding fries to the seagulls and/or ducks!
P.S. Will be in Hawaii February 5th. We been watching all your videos on Waikiki on all of the great food we can try. Have fun in my hometown of Seattle. Be safe God bless
Love ya’ll! Y’all gotta check out capital hill! They have good food too! It’s pronounced pike place no s in pike. They got Filipino food at oriental mart.
It was so good I had to watch it twice. It tasted so good that Felix almost lost it. That's what's up. You guys almost make me want to come back..But I can't do that cold weather. I love seeing your first adventures.
Awesome to see you two on the mainland finally. Great choice visiting the Pacific Northwest. Vancouver is my wife and my second home because it's the westcoast for us who live in Canada. I'm sure you already experienced all the world class food options in that city right? Hope you guys got a chance to check out Richmond which has among the best Chinese food outside of Asia. Anyways, watching you guys finally leave the islands reminds me why I love to travel so much myself, the sense of adventure and getting out of your comfort zones as you realize how large the world is... Enjoy your future travels a I will continue to watch!
@@AmandaFelixEats Awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed Canada! Vancouver is such a lovely metropolitan city with easy transport via SkyTrain anywhere along with some old fashioned walking. Haven't seen where you guys went for dim sum but Im gonna guess Chef Tony in Richmond? There are MUCH MUCH better dim sum places that you guys can try next time tho!
Fun video. I always like to get the brown bag of fresh made mini donuts. They make them in front of you and are just good on a cold day especially. Don’t remember the name…
Dick's Drive In is the iconic burger joint in Seattle. Uwajimaya super market in the International District has that great Asian food court, bakery included. You can easily Uber or bus it to it. Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese or Filipino is all excellent. Hope you made it to Grandville Island's Market in BC. It is a gourmand's delight. You found the piroshke. I remember when they opened. Worth the wait, huh?
I grew up in Seattle area it does rain about 80% of the year pikes place market was one of my favorite places enjoy they have a mini china town have fun stay warm
I notice you titled the videos with the correct name Pike Place Market, even though you were saying it wrong in the videos. The street the market is on is Pike Place. I think people get it wrong because of Pikes Peak in Colorado so they put the s on the end. At the baseball stadium they sell the Beecher’s mac & cheese with pulled pork on top. It’s delicious and I get it every time.
Hi Amanda and Filex. Thank You for bringing us along it was fun and everything delicious. gum wall interest ing hahaha.safe flight home LOVE and GOD Bless You Aloha Always Sister Chrissy Honolulu Hi 😘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘💜💙💋
Is Le Panier still at Pike Place? My friend and I discovered that place. There's always a line, but the croissants...OMG. Amanda, you chose good with the salmon Piroshky. That's my favorite. Every time I've gone, there were out of the beef and onion, lol. Fun fact, I interviewed Beecher's owner/cheesemonger Kurt Beecher Dammeier for Welcome Magazine Snohomish a few years ago. There are outlets all over WA, including Everett's Paine Field. They use artisan growers for the bread that goes into the sandwiches. All local. PS. It rains from Sept.-May, no lie. That's why, when the sun comes out, you see people stop-dropping where they stand to bask.
Hopefully you'll make it to Chinatown. Meneki (Japanese cuisine) is a must. Reservations since they are only open during dinner. Tai Tung (Chinese cuisine) know as Bruce Lee's favorite restaurant. Those two places have been around for years. I believe Meneki was established in 1904 and Tai Tung 1930's? Enjoy the eats and that cool Seattle weather 😁
Another great episode! Although, have to say I'm with Felix about the gum wall... kinda gross 🤢😂. Added a puppy to my family, but still look forward to your videos. Gives me a breather. Much mahalos!!
I'm from Seattle and " Dick's " is an iconic Seattle burger. Local grinds with great music and food check out Ohana's in Belltown. Honey Court in China is everyone's favorite. They close late as well. If you like Cuban food try Paseo. They have the best sandwiches 🤙
The only touresty thing was saying Pikes Place 11 times. Felix did get Pike Place right 5 times, Holy crap, Amanda got it right once at the end.
Cold & gray in Seattle is our typical day. Only hot 2 months in a year. Always nice to see first timers here in Seattle.
If you have time, go to see Chihuly Garden and Glass at the foot of the space needle. Really something to see.
Chihuly Garden and Glass is an absolute must stop; sooo amazing!
What a perfect episode on a cold and rainy day. As I watched under a warm blanket, my stomach rumbled watching you both eat warm, steamy, Seattle treats. I’m so happy for you both. Maneki, best sushi & soba, period. ITA.
It’s so fun seeing you experience your new travel destinations! I hope the weather cooperates for your holidays, but regardless it will be awesome ❤

Happy to see you guys in Seattle and finally getting off "the rock!" Went there in 2015. Looks like you did a lot of the good stuff already, but a few suggestions if you haven't already done so, assuming the uploads are delayed. At Pike's, try Lowell's for breakfast. Yup. Lowell's for breakfast or lunch.

Mahalo for visiting Seattle!
Love Pike Market and the surrounding area
So much food! Wish our stomachs were bigger 🤤
💯
P.S. Will be in Hawaii February 5th. We been watching all your videos on Waikiki on all of the great food we can try. Have fun in my hometown of Seattle. Be safe God bless
Mahalo David! Have fun here in Hawaii!
Nearly fell over! So good! Haha Mahalo Walt! 🤙
We were so excited to explore again! We love vancouver as well!
There’s big difference of weather between Hawaii’s winter abs there in Seattle 🙈 it looks cold. The food looks great though 😍
Very chilly! 🥶 and wet!
You've done Manoa Choclate, so try Theo Chocolate in Fremont. Also Top pot donuts on fifth, and Portage bay cafe in south lake union.
Smoked Salmon Pate is hella good. If not their #1 seller, it’s up there!
For sure it was sooooo yum🤤
Mahalo for the suggestions!
I love pike place ❤️ I hope you tried out the pink door 🤗
We ran out of time for pink door 😢 guess we’re going back!! Lol
Love the reaction on chowders!
Best we've had so far! 🤤
Great video! Love Seattle and awesome food there!
Everything's been good so far! 🤤
I grew up in Seattle area it does rain about 80% of the year pikes place market was one of my favorite places enjoy they have a mini china town have fun stay warm
Mahalo Carol! 🤙
Mahalo always Chrissy!
We weren't able to make it to le panier and mee sum! 😭 everything else was amazing! Mahalo for watching Carol! 🤙
If you're still there check out the hot tub boats!! That has become one of the top things on my Seattle bucket list.
We just missed it! 😣
WHERES THE COFFEE? Officially tourists. LOL Have fun guys!
😅
Beechers’ cheese sandwich is the best dipped in their tomato soup. Yummy.
That sounds divine! 🤤
You are the best. Really love your videos! ❤️
My friends in Seattle moved to TX because all the rain and overcast made them very depressed.
Lol so now instead of being sad they just get shot
Hopefully you'll make it to Chinatown. Meneki (Japanese cuisine) is a must. Reservations since they are only open during dinner. Tai Tung (Chinese cuisine) know as Bruce Lee's favorite restaurant. Those two places have been around for years. I believe Meneki was established in 1904 and Tai Tung 1930's? Enjoy the eats and that cool Seattle weather 😁
Mahalo!
Awesome sauce Guys!!
Mahalo Alisha 🤙🏻🤤
Go to The Crab Pot it's at Pikes
Yes! That place is great! Can’t wait to go back😊
For sure on our list!!🤤
Great job guys!
Mahalo!
Welcome to Seattle!
Mahalo Jeanne🙌🏼
Pike Place Chowder in a bread bowl is one of my favorite things. Yummy!
Next time we're getting that bread bowl! 🤤
All the places you guys hit are great food places. Pike Place chowder, I get the smoked salmon chowder. Beechers mac and cheese is the stuff.
So good!
Need to visit the Space needle
Another great episode! Although, have to say I'm with Felix about the gum wall... kinda gross 🤢😂. Added a puppy to my family, but still look forward to your videos. Gives me a breather. Much mahalos!!
It’s a lot bigger than the pictures!! Lol congrats on your new family member 💕
I'm from the area and yeah...the gum wall is grosser than you imagine it to be.
If you are looking for some good thai food, totally recommend Bangrak Market in Belltown and Kinlen in Fremont (best thai food in Seattle)!
Mahalo for the suggestions!
I wanna go to Seattle so bad cause I have to have a drink from the OG Starbucks!!!!!
Luckily the line was short when we went! We hear it gets quite long 😱
Overrated...
Just fyi, the line for Starbucks can be VERY long during the summer months
The OG Starbucks actually burnt down and was in a different spot, but tourists don’t seem to care.
Make sure you try Fran’s chocolate
Beautiful Amanda is on the mainland. You guys need to come to a small town on the other coast called NYC!
If you like Clam Chowder. Try Ivar's
It was on our list for sure😋
I'm from Seattle and " Dick's " is an iconic Seattle burger. Local grinds with great music and food check out Ohana's in Belltown. Honey Court in China is everyone's favorite. They close late as well. If you like Cuban food try Paseo. They have the best sandwiches 🤙
You guys you guys! Local here! Fun video… THERE IS NO “S” IN Pike Market. (It’s a real sticking point for us. Hahahaha!)
