How Burglars Choose Which Homes to Target

Burglars are more intentional in choosing which homes to target than you may think. Stay in control of your home’s safety by being aware of the following circumstances that make you more vulnerable to a break-in:
You aren’t locking your doors, windows, and garage every day.
You live in a rural area or secluded location, your home has a lot of shrubbery or fencing around it that provides ample hiding spots.
You don’t have a home security system or you have poor outdoor security in general (no floodlights, no yard sign or window sticker indicating protection).
You leave your house obviously empty when away and/or you post about being on vacation on social media.

In most states if you DONT luck your doors and someone “breaks in” technically all they did was illegally enter..

I used to live out in the country where my nearest neighbour was a 10min drive away. We never locked our doors and our windows were open all the time. I watched horror movies like this. Windows open and doors unlocked. In the U.S however i prob wouldnt have done this bc the amount of serial killers documented is astounding and thats documented ones.

Get beware of dogs sign deters most immediately

My home insurance provider requested that I remove the "beware of dog" sign because it suggests that I'm aware my dog is dangerous 😮

When we had 2 dogs the amazon driver wouldn't leave the van. We now have 6. 1 is 120 lbs, 4 are still growing and can weigh 120 - 150 lbs when fully grown.
