This is such a criticial thing I need to remind myself quite often. If hit a ball hard it means I have less time to react. Playing smarter, not harder, shots is the way to gain more points. And lets not forget that sometimes you dont have an opportunity to smash or play vibora during the game, you always have to serve or return a serve in each game so in my view it is one of the most important part of the game at the beginner level. Thanks for your tips !
For me, it helps to do my second serve really slow because there's a high chance my opponent will have to run and hit the ball with momentum, making it go out easily. Plus I gain a lot of time to prepare at the net to attack
Very interesting question! I would say unless you clearly have a stronger backhand serve, stay with the forehand. However, you will see some pro players (Paquito and Carolina Navarro) serving with the backhand ONLY to the left side player 🙌
I think a common mistake is to play it too safe. If you make 90% of your first serves, you’re not aggressive enough. Even on second serve, it’s better to hit a few double faults per set than to be put under pressure immediately.
Thank you Gonzalo! Yo soy del error 3, no puedo evitarlo. Me gusta mas sacar así porque aveces me quedan unas parabolas preciosas (cuando entran) jaja. Eso si, lo bueno es que soy impredecible, porque ni yo se donde va a ir :)
I notice that the people that play with me (all amateurs, but they have played longer than I have) struggle when i serve close to the net. Is that a thing? Why should or shouldn’t I do it? (At this point I can’t aim to the sides)
If you’re at the level where you need to watch this video, you should definitely serve fast. It’s not until a reasonably high level of padel where the opponent will be able to hit a good return on a fast serve.
@@padeldriverThose are good, too. What I meant was that the argument that a fast serve makes it hard to come close enough to the net isn’t valid for intermediate players as the return will either be a lob or a pretty weak return.
Your explanation is the best on UA-cam platform, you pay attention to each little details and so many tips, thank you so much

Thanks for your comment Adam 💙 Exactly, one of the beauties of padel is the fact that sometimes it is actually better to play slow 🙌
Thank you, good tips.
The Carlos Sainz of Padel...Vamos!!!
These videos are so good that I will soon quit my padel lessons. Vamos!
Hahahahaa, glad you like them! But coaching sessions are always a clever decision 😜
Great tips and so recognizable at the court
Hehehe thanks 🙌💙
You taught us tip #2 today and it was good to know!
Thanks a lot Arkar 🥰 it is very nice to see my students watching the videos!!
great tips, thanks Gonzalo!
Thanks a lot Os for the unconditional support 🙌💙🥰
me encanto el video! gracias
Muchas gracias por tu comentario Gabriel 🙌

Definitely! Some people really struggle returning a slow serve to the glass! Plus you have more time to ge to the net 🙌
However, you will see that more advanced players will always play the lob with those kind of serves!
Would you ever use your backhand to serve. I have a natural slice backhand from tennis. And you would possibly get a different angle? Just wondering?

Me encanta el "Vamoss💪" haha

I really like your videos… but I love the music in background… is that a particular playlist? Could you please share it 😂?
Thanks 💙 unfortunately I don't know the name of those songs, I know it is music with no copyright but I would have to ask my editor!
Gonzalo i am from Germany but i need the Rocket Padel Merch - I think it looks awesome! Any chance to order it somewhere? Much love ❤️
Unfortunately I don't think they ship it to Germany but I can ask 🙌

JAJAJAJAJA 😂 Prueba de esta forma! Ojalá te de buenos resultados! Muchas gracias por el comment 💙
What model are your shoes?
I am currently using Joma Ace Padel, quite happy with them so far

The problem with that one is that if they manage to get there in time they can play a very offensive shot in the return!
top tip for you guys - practise your second serve. A lot of players have a great first serve but a sucky second serve.
So true! Thanks for the comment 💙
#3 and #5 here haha but when my top spin serve hits…
😂 I have a friend that does it. Out of 20 serves he gets 1 ACE and 19 second serves hehehe
@@padeldriverare we playing together?

I don't necessarily agree. I would prioritize length and backspin over speed

what is the weight of your racket?
Video coming soon on that topic! I play with 360g 🙌
total weight with the overgrip?@@padeldriver
@@aminalamin7014 haven't weighted but protector is 7g aprox and 1 over grip around 8 grams
Btw I look forward to the smash video
Here I’m not with you lol I have won match with only the most lower and sliced serves giving crazy spin and low speed parabole ..
That might do the work now but more advanced players will return that easily 🥵
@@padeldriver Ofc I try and see how they react lol if it’s fine I keep it up if not I use your strategy
