Fun to see you with Chip and the acknowledgement of what a great job Cabin Masters is doing!! He certainly needs to get to ME and experience the magnificence of it all. Dinner at Lost Kitchen would be icing on the ME cake! Huge fan of you all and so appreciate all your hard work. Will be moving up to ME from MA in 3 years upon retirement and can't wait. Until then we will keep visiting! P.S. Fort Kent is WAY the heck up there and have been twice after paddling the Allagash Wilderness Waterway ;-) Be well Cabin Masters, Barret
This episode is really incredible. It should be shared with high school kids all over the country. I’ve done both corporate America, and have owned a contracting business for a decade, and then back to corporate America. Kids should know that’s there’s many different paths to happiness and/or success. Love what Chip shared, and what you guys validated. You all are literally the best.
Hi Chip, ENNIS, Texas here ! Hello all ! Brought my sister from California to Magnolia In October 22. Thanks for having these guys under the umbrella of Magnolia Channel. Love MCM.
Couldn't agree more about the trades, I'm often on my soapbox about how society says in order to be successful you need to go to college - so much pressure on kids/families. Schools need to give trades the same respect and time, let students know all the options. Thanks for bringing it up!
Such a fan. My daughter just moved to Maine and I watched your show on MAX (all seasons!) as research before my visit to ME. A great study in understanding "what is a Mainer?" We came by your place. I have a picture w/ you, Chase, over my shoulder. What a stocker! I didn't want to interrupt you chatting up a neighbor by your truck. I practiced saying "Cheers" Maine-style to impress my daughter. No drink was complete w/out me practicing my "Maine." Thank you guys for being so NORMAL. After COVID, I just don't have time for phony TV. I love my t-shirt from your shop. Wear it proudly and when I visit my daughter in her new house by Hallowell, we'll be sure to stop again. So glad to see you hangin' out w/ Chip! Happy fall and sending love to the mighty team for all the hours of entertainment.
Never thought anyone could replace the Tom and Ray Magliozzi (Click and Clack, the Tapet Brothers) but here we are. Just found your podcast and I have many hours to catch up and loving every minute.
Great Show!! You must feel so honored that Chip agreed to do your podcast, I just about freaked out when I saw it!! You all did such a good job so proud of you. Ryan wouldn’t it be cool if he did come up and demo-ed a camp with you and you guys go down and demo-ed a place in Waco I’d watch both!! ❤❤
Wonderful! Regarding the trades…heard an episode of This American Life about 10 years ago. An uncle was trying to talk his nephew into going to college, but his nephew wanted to be a carpenter. He’d done his research about longevity in the trade. The uncle went so far as to call a reporter from the NYT who had written an article bout the resurgence of careers in the trades, and she said, “why would he want to take on student debt load for a career that won’t return a salary commensurate to the degree? If he’s happy and this is his goal, he should pursue it. Trades pay more.” Always will remember that segment of TAL.
I am watching this today 14th November, so can I start of by wishing you a very happy birthday Chip and Best Wishes when yours arrives Ryan. I love Maine Cabin Masters, however I first started watching Fixer Upper many, many years ago and to watch them become bigger and bigger and when I heard that they had taken on Maine Cabin Masters to their Magnolia Network I was overjoyed. I am a 64 year old woman watching from the UK (Scotland) and I do so wish we had people like you over here. You guys are fantastic and I agree Ryan, you all keep it real and that is what I enjoy the most. Ashley like Joanna Gaines has such talent at Interior design, and I have taken many tips from them both. Keep up the good work guys. Love, Love, Love you all.
MCM blows - we want shiplap, shiplap and MORE shiplap ! ;) Seriously, the Gaines family is a nation treasure, and I never thought I'd say that for anyone from Waco TX. Maine is waaaay too cold but I appreciate the scenery.
What a great interview! Nice insights into Chip’s early life and his motivation and I really enjoyed the discussion about kids being encouraged to enter trades.
Love Chip and Jojo. Wish Zina and I knew them and the Maine Cabin Masters. We love Maine. I bought Discovery + just for their (Fixer upper and MCM) shows on the Magnolia Network. When is the new season going to drop?
thirty years ago the trades made good money. Would cost me a month's salary to have some pine nailed on a wall 8 feet high and 12 feet long. with a simple open counter built in front. No drawers and no doors.... unfinished....no paint, no stain. No ceiling work, no floor work, no doors.....just in a corner of a basement.
Blech, I was so disappointed when you guys went to Magnolia. They have no imagination. They know only one thing, white and modern..done. I find them both so annoying and pretentious, the very opposite of you guys. I actually refused to watch their channel but then you moved there. That was a tough one for me...I cratered and not proud of it.

Excited for this!
I’m so excited for this!
Chip, would you ever try to do a cabin? And with that, Chase would you do a formal house? I know the crew makes fun when there’s blueprints and stuff.
Chase did build a duplex home last year that sold for over half a million.
Hi from Florida, I like Magnolia❤

I wish I could see Main Cabin Masters. My cable company doesn’t carry it. 😢
Who is Susie?
Please stop interrupting Joanna, chip?

Ya I built houses 40 years ago and our screw guns were called hammers….lol all nails.
LOVE THE SHOW..BUT ISNT IT ..ASHLEY ELDRIDGE ?..
Chip is weird! You guys are more real than him and wifey

Been watching Fixer Upper since day 1 and big fans of all the Gaines’ have accomplished. Chip is an extrovert, not weird.
