She stood in front of the army. Tired and wary. It was a losing battle.
She knew it, they all knew it but even so, they hoped, they dreamed, they fought to get to where they are today. Too many sacrifices were made for the chance to reach here.
Many have told her to quit, many have blamed her for their losses, many have doubted her abilities. But she did not want to lose this chance.
She didn't want to lead her men to their deaths but with unwavering determination in her eyes, she cried out.
"I have not been great ruler nor have I been a skilled general but even so, for just this moment...who will follow me one last time?"

She stood there, amidst the broken temple, amidst a broken army, and she smiled. Underneath the helms and face guards of her men, she knew were the same grins. After all, they're about to have the fight of their lives.
"You know I've never been one for all the pomp and circumstance, so I'm gonna keep this brief. We had a good run, men. We broke the back of their precious 3rd Legion. We slaughtered the 8th then routed the 13th so badly, they ran home and cried to daddy. Emperor Dacius, Master of A hundred legions, saw fit to send half of them to hunt us down because he's scared we'll kill all of them if he send any less." The men started chuckling and some even broke out laughing when they remembered the announcement that pompous Emperor made to justify the deployment. She let them bask in the glory of what they'd achieved then continued with a bit more somber in her voice.
"Now I won't lie. 500 to 1 may be a bit much, even for us." She almost lost her composure when someone from the back shouted. 'Kill 500 each then go home.'
"But what the hell? We got this far right? Why not?" She bursted out laughing as the men joined her.
"Sharpen your blades and polish your armours. WE RIDE AT DAWN. AND I WILL SEE YOU BASTARDS AT THE PEARLY GATES."
Unfortunately the story ends with everyone dying and her turning into a prostitute.

Ok real talk Epic Music World. Can we stop with the ultra cringe emo titles. I love the music, but at first glance, my playlist looks like a cry for help. Sort it out mate.
I disagree. The titles help me determine which song matches the vibe I'm seeking to write each chapter of my book. The titles aren't emo -they're epic tragedy, a genre in and of itself.

@@haslammmo9173 You don't have to make biased grand assumptions just because you're embarrassed. ;) Discourse is how we learn. For example, directly contradicting my implications of a search for clearly marked variety by claiming because I search this artist when in need of a particular genre of music it must be that I only ever need this particular genre of music. Instead, you can probably simply determine that you don't feel like the titles don't match the music in your opinion, which no one can take from you. Or, you could consider that there is a time and place for most things, and they have their use for others even if you don't use them the same way. Actually, the conversation can continue rationally in any numbers of meaningful ways unless one party gets unnecessarily defensive and starts making blind ultimatums and jumps to conclusions that logic would never lead to on its own. Hope this helps next time you find yourself unsure of how to respond when the opportunity arises to talk to grownups. :) Take care!

@haslammmo9173 No, you are the only one here thinking so. If you believe so, fine, that's your opinion. But the majority of us are fine with it and like it. If you don't like it, fine, but we don't need to agree with you, so it's not "end of story" just because you say so.
