Never gets as much love as the original and Apocalypse, but I certainly had a lot of fun with it. Great to see these UFOpedia Articles, always a joy to unlock another one when playing.

A lot of people complain that the game's much harder than the original, but I personally didn't like that it was much more *tedious* than the 1st one.
In Ufo Defense you can use jetpacks to stay out of Chryssalid's reach or use incendiary weapons to block its path toward you, but in Terror From The Deep you often have to save up most of the Time Units on large part of your squad just so you wouldn't lose your people to Tentaculats. It's more challenging, yes - but it basically removes all tactics and forces you to always play exactly the same way. Also, I remember slowly making my way through an alien base, checking every corner and leaving Time Units for reaction fire only to get jumped from behind by a Tentaculat floating above the door we entered from - it literally waited in our blind spot near the ceiling to ambush us!
The alien bases and finale also seem to be made specifically to be as frustrating and tedious as possible.
Alien bases are made of 2 consequitive missions (essentially taking twice as long as they did in the 1st game) and always have many psyonic aliens that can mind-control half your squad from the other side of the map and make them kill the other half of your squad.
The finale is split into 3 *very long* parts. The 1st mission is kinda okay, as it's basically a 2nd part of the alien base attack. The 2nd part is a ridiculously long and narrow spiraling path filled with enemies, which is kinda immersion-breaking, as it's clearly made to be a longest possible level for its map size and noone in their right mind would actually make their base/building like that, as it's *very* impractical. And in the 3rd part the devs just decided to disable the option to save the game and basically force you to play it in Iron Man mode. While some people like to play without reloading to challenge themselves, people who relied on save & load to survive all the insanity thrown at them until then just got blindsided with no warning at the end. :(
What I'm trying to say is: the game can be fun, and I personally enjoyed some new stuff and gameplay changes (like some weapons and tools only working underwater, so land and ship missions usually require a somewhat different approach), but there are some things that were specifically made to be tedious and unfair, making the game far less fun than Ufo Defense and Apocalypse.
Sorry for the long reply, I wanted to explain why I didn't find the game as fun as 1st and 3rd one. It's still far better than Enforcer, tho. >.>

@@nijunikuro No problem, that makes a lot of sense. It's certainly a longer game. In the original you could aim to shoot a ship down in water if you didn't want to deal with the crew, but here it just crashes into the sea and you have to keep going.
And those tanker missions are definitely too long.
So yeah, certainly agree, not as much fun as 1 or 3, but still had it's moments.
