OKay please do a resume video. The format and how you put jobs on their like project on top then work experience that wasn't really relevant at the bottom. My issue Im having is what to put on the resume in terms of experience verse what to say on bullet points. DO you put link to portfolio at the top?
Very nicely explained. She is absolutely right, she almost touched whole PM world with this video. even she missed something like (analysis) like customer, competitors, market. but who cares as she told you are building it for yourself, and its does not matter if the solution is already exist in the market.
It's 2024, build an app with Claude 3.5 (or GPT-5/GPT-Next if it came out) I am in the process of doing it, you learn a TON about prompting the AI, and you write 0 code so you have to direct it well. PM skills baby!
@ unfortunately I haven’t used any of those. I used Xcode, the text editor from Apple to store your code and write iOS apps. But I had no idea what I was supposed to do, so I had Claude 3.5 / ChatGPT o1 tell me. But knowing code is important to do this, because sometimes the ai doesn’t know what the bug is and you need to go look for it yourself.
This video is gold! No matter how many books you read, resume's you edit, there is nothing like going through the Product Lifecycle yourself. Thanks Alex!
not a PM but a tech writer - I still found this very informative. having a physical representation of your skills and knowledge, as well as being able to talk about it, is sooo important!
This was the most simple yet the best explained video on how to get a foot in the door for product management l. You explained each step of the process with your side project as an example while highlighting the skills that one would gather while doing that step. Appreciate your effort.
Great advice! Even for existing Product Managers. If you have never taken “your“ idea through the complete Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) you should follow these steps and you will learn a TON!
An eternity. And female. Not hating on any of this. But so detached from reality when people cannot acknowledge that their success has little to do with their “skill”, and often comes down to timing and luck. Myself included.
This is a great motivator! I have completed PMI PBA and wondering how to make it useful for transition my career. Its hard to breakin and there are no junior project or junior product jobs or associate level jobs. Trying to gain futher skills with Financial Analysis to become a BA with PM or Pro M
What platform did you use to create the app? And thank you for this info. I am doing something similar at my job and might as well rebrand the role as a product manager. Thank you for the Google doc. I will be using that religiously to learn the terms of product management.
Thanks for making this video! I am looking into taking coursera’s ibm product manager course. There is a an ai version and a regular version. Would you recommend one over the other?

Can you please share some good no code platforms, which you have personally used?
