I modified the factory speaker mount to accommodate the new speaker. I also used the the factory connectors. Just need a cutting tool to cut out the factory speaker and connector, then mount new speaker and solder leads onto factory connector, plug and play install.

(Except for the little bit of wiring, but I’d consider that plug and play as well, im more so asking was anything else other than the speakers and wiring needed to have it work) Im pretty knowledgeable mechanically, but the audio systems are completely new to me, thank you for your time.

Thanks for the video. I know it's hard to tell through the internet, but for some reason I can just tell that the sound is better from this video . Someone earlier mentioned maybe not putting in those speakers with the tweeters built in because of stock tweeter. Did you notice anything sounding weird? If you could do it over would you use just straight woofer / speaker without the built in tweeter? thanks again
Great video man, I have the same car as well and I'm trying to do the same with my speakers. Did you order a certain set with all 4 speakers included or did you order two sets of 2? Thanks!

hey man great video, I have a 2022 honda civic hatchback and im looking for new speakers, do our cars have the same speaker size dimensions and if so i would love to buy these, please get back to me thanks.
Curious I just ordered a 2022 civic R/S (South Africa) and its being sold to me with a 12 speaker Bose system which apparently is great. Was that not that case with yours ? Just curious on the need for an upgrade.
No rattles, I made sure the speakers and the brackets were flush. With the foam gaskets there is no issues. The bass has less distortion and bit more rich. Only using the power of the stock radio so bass is really not something that can be truly regarded in just replacing the door speakers. You will always needs a sub in this configuration if you want to hear and feel some bass. I have a low profile Pioneer 10” sub I plan on installing in the near future!! Hope that helps, otherwise I suggest a good set of components with an amp if you want more bass out of the door speakers.
Hey, I had these installed professionally and there are problems. Lots of popping noise and cracks at higher volumes, especially songs with more bass. These speakers are 2.3ohms, the installer said 4ohms are recommended for the 2022 civic. The speakers were pulling too much power from the factory radio unit causing it to overheat, and would cause the radio to shut down all speakers leaving with me no audio at all. Beware guys they are still trying to fix these issues with me, if they can’t be fixed I’ll have to get new speakers or re install the factory ones. These do sound good when they work, lacking bass tho.
Sorry to hear that, I haven’t had any issues. The rears definitely don’t draw as much power as the fronts but that is more of the power output from the factory radio (which has no aftermarket option). The answer to your issue if the installer is correct and didn’t cross wire anything is to add a 4 channel amp and properly re-distribute the with hi-pass eq and add another amp and sub in the trunk, curious to hear what they find
@@na.custom2273 I ended up getting 2 sets of Kicker CS 6-1/2 to replace the JBLs. So far no problems. The sound on the JBLs are definitely better especially the highs compared to the Kickers. I also got the kicker 10” hideaway sub/amp installed under my seat by the BestBuy AutoTech. The installation was only $130. It was a very clean install. The kicker speakers plus the sub make up for everything compared to the JBLs. The extra bass right under my seat is a real pleasure. Wish the JBLs would have worked in my car with Kicker sub, but the Kickers def sound better than the factory pairs.
Hi. I would like to put a whole new audio system in the car, unfortunately It is a lease. So I think my better option (to avoid modifying the car) would be just replacing the factory speakers... @@aaroncruz8119 oh ok thanks.. i dont even think in leaving them. i will put it back to stock before returning it. My worry is about them checking behind the door panels.
Also there is no available head units for the 11th gen as of today. Yes, replacing the stock is a non factor in a lease unless you return it with no speakers!! 😂
There is one trim level that has 5 1/4” in rears, not sure if it’s LX, but most likely it can be upgraded to 6 1/2” by removing stock bracket to expose same opening! Thanks
Actually not, the guide I got from Crutchfield shows how to take the pillar off and connect a tweeter. You will need a glue gun to fasten the tweeter down and splice the line to wire but the guide tells you what each wire is. The current setup has the tweeter wired in parallel and to add components the crossover should be able to be tucked inside the door panel. I kinda skipped over that when researching since I was just replacing the doors. If I ever decide to upgrade again it will be the Full Monty with components and amp!!
