Penny and Sparrow make minimalist music with a lot of soul. Their emotional, lyrically heavy ballads contain soft spoken, ethereal harmonies sung over airy acoustic or electric guitar. The duo records with a full band and sometimes perform as such, but retain a preference for the intimacy and financial freedom of a two-piece. Get to know the band through moving, folksy tunes here on Audiotree Live.

Where is my favourite? "Creature"
Thanks! Have they ever performed "Reeth" live? I can't find anything on UA-cam..
Literally hit home in every possible way - the music, the lyrics, the chords, the humor, the les mis love. They're so incredibly talented and I feel blessed they've shared pieces of their hearts through their music.
They should really release when they played Reeth in the intro. That's probably my favorite song from them. ugh.
They released Reeth on "Struggle Pretty". I think it came out in 2014.
So glad AudioTree picked Penny and Sparrow up. You deserve each other!
Who are the six misanthropes who hated this?
He doesn't have to move an inch! His voice speaks for itself!
"We're jovial"...Just found out about you dudes. Awesome work!
Damn. Great performance! Can’t believe I just discovered this.
GOLD might be my favorite song of all time. it stops my heart every single time. i cannot even take it.
I love these guys. They toured with the Oh Hellos and their live preformance was moving while they played music and side-splittigly hilarious between songs. The duality of their presentation isn't something I am likely to forget anytime soon.
I'm so jealous that you got to see them tour with the Oh Hellos! What a show!
Simon and Garfunkel meet the Smothers Brothers (just prettier, smarter & funnier) :D
Couple of years later and that is still, in my opinion, one of the finest live performances ever. Every note, every harmony was spot-on. Full-on emotion. Production was superb, sound was excellent. I'm probably responsible for at least 20% of the views. Well done everyone.
Still!
Yes
I know I really liked them, but I was in love when he said "Hold on to your butts."
Wow, I'm blown away at their voices! I'm so happy I discovered them! Absolutely beautiful.
The mic on the acoustic is the AKG 460!!
What a lovely way to spend a half hour, with Kyle and Andy tuning and talking right here in my living room. Cheers.
This is one of my most favorite performances out of audiotree. They are both so subtle and ethereal w their voices once the music starts, both alone and in harmony. I love how the vibe they set out to create is so juxtaposed to their own personalities when they aren’t singing. 😄 I love these guys! ❤
guitar tone to die for!!
#newfavoriteband hugs & kisses-jj
Speaking of seeping….if you can articulate how good this is you are a better writer than I. It’s too good for words. Speaking of too good for words, if you love this you should check out watchhouse, formerly mandolin orange. Particularly Live at Fraser.
I’m so grateful I stumbled across these guys tonight! 💜💜💜
thank you audiotree for putting forth all the great music. well done.
Lucky me, to have come across you guys!
You had me at "Covered in gold", Andy. :) Only love *
Speaking of seeping, if you don’t like this there’s something wrong with your pop bangers
Seen you a couple times live now. Love you guys-- seemingly simple yet emotional.
12th time seeing this, 12th time getting chills

Simply Awesome! Please, please, please come to Appaloosa again in 2017! Loved your performance...
Hadn't gotten around to getting the new album. Never seen them live. It was every bit as low-key as I could have wanted.
This is amazing. First time hearing these guys. Best way IMO! Uh freaking mazing!!
Such beautiful music. Real talent is still around and these guys are wonderful.
Happy 2022 I'm loving this ❤

Damn Daniel !!!
Showing some love! Great music!!!!
Beautiful!
Am I the only one who comes back to hear the first part of the acoustic version of “Reeth?” Sure wish they would release an acoustic studio version of it.
Search for Reeth live at paramount theatre. It's on Spotify

who is he
wow this is so good
Wonderful
Fantastic as always.
dedicated
Can anyone tell me what guitars he is using? :)
Looks like a harmony h165 or similar. I would suggest a parlor sized mahogany martin if you want to get the sound in a more reliable/modern/easier to find and buy body.
Awesome. Thanks for the advice.
Feeling in love
so, so good.

+Noah Daniels yea i wanted to know the brand and make of the first guitar.by any chance if you knew
