What size/type of boat? What was the speed? (Gps or speedo) I'm redoing a boat, have never had it on the water, curious as to what to expect. Same engine.
I have a Mariner 45 the same age as this. Parts guy says service parts are all easy to get but if you're looking for major parts like the castings you'll be in for a hard time. I imagine that means if you mess your lower unit up it's scrap.

I got myself one a week ago on a half can 4.7 m pongrass love my inline 6 she turns heads sounds beautiful
Inline 6 those motors turned out actually more than 115 HP at the prop

Still parts out there and after market parts online I just put all new electronics on my 115 and murcury parts interchange.

The inboard are better
Not to work on though. At least in my experience with both. Love access outboards give. But hey a day on the water is a day of heaven either way. Lol
Very bold statement. Depends on which inboard you're talking about. The mercruiser 3.0 seen in most anything 80s and 90s is dog poop.
