Imagine that the old Peppino was left in that restaurant to rotten, but Mr. Stick found it and thought it was a boss fight, so he sell it as a boss gate. But in reality the actual boss was at the exit of the pizzeria (the place after the chase) but Peppino took so long (basically fighting fake Peppino) that the boss just left...
My experience with the chase segment is that of every other straightaway in the game. I only had Fake Peppino onscreen for like 2 seconds before I was gone.
Lol, same, I was so scared when chase scene starts cuz I thought it's going to kill me momentaly + will increase speed while chasing Imagine my face when I saw that it's not insta-killing you but just taking 2 hp only lol
during the entire sequence i was like "NO NO NO GET THE FUCK INSIDE WHERE'S MY GOLF CART OH JESUS" and i only had him on screen for less time than hank in madness 5.5
I just beat the game today, including this boss, but I BOOKED IT thinking he was gonna speed up after you I could’ve stayed next to the door for maybe another 12 seconds cuz of how fast I did it lol
@JamCat my running idea is that Bruno was a failed pizza restaurant that was destroyed by the Pizza tower, and from what I remember, the Tower keeps a record of every restaurant it destroys, so this is the memory of Bruno's pizza, whose owner likely failed the challenge of reaching the top and has their resturaunt destroyed. Fake Peppino just resides there, likely because it's comforting in some wierd way.
@@jeancarlos-pu7ds that's also what I think, maybe a desperate attempt to keep his business afloat he tried copying his competitor, and to maybe eventually replace one day. since he's doing like "peppino pizza 2" "nothing compares" like he's the new best and improved peppino pizza
I don't like the implication that the entire room is the actual "Fake Peppino" while the one we're facing is a small part of it, considering the second phase. Even with the chase scene and the eventual escape sequence at the end of the game, it's only one peppino.
Could make sense because in the backround we see a boatload clones comeout of every nook and cranny trashbags pizza boxes even little splatters on the walls i think the chase is the "entire room peppino" since it leaves the room making you fall into its dark basement when jt chases you
@@EngieanimationsI think the reason behind phase 2 having peppinos come out of the walls and stuff was to show just how many clones you're up against to give a feeling of being outmatched. I mean, the super jump attack alone has like fifteen peppinos jumping at once. I think the giant peopino in the chase scene was the main fake peopino merging with his clones
Fun fact about this boss- after you deal the first damage point to it the palette of the enemy versions you CANT HIT will change to a slightly darker version of the palette your wearing currently, for this guy his was grey as his peppy was white.
This only happens with attacks that you can easily get confused on where you are (most commonly used with multiple attacks) and so you don’t get confused on what fake your suppose to attack
Also fun fact: The whole "the darker ones are the clones" applies to the Dark Cook costume, which is just black. Except you can't get darker than black, which means...

Fake Peppino gives me the same vibes as DoodleBob from SpongeBob and Paper Jam Dipper from Gravity Falls, a clone of the main character but something is clearly wrong yet they’re weirdly charming
I know im probably late to the party, but i like the concept of 'mirror bosses' as a whole. Putting the player up against a distorted version of their own moveset with some additions is, in my eyes, a great 2nd to last boss to test your skills before the final challenge. Fake peppino is a perfect example of this concept. He does all the things you can do, but in a more chaotic, warped way. He can also do several things the player cant do. And the fact his boss intro card until you beat him is the same as your own just shows how much of a copy he really is.
One of my favourites is in blackmoor 2 have you heard of it so let me just give rundown in the mirror world there's a section where your reflection becomes alive and here's why I absolutely love it the games online So you can make your friends fight you you fighting your friends there's so many different strategies for it which made it such a memorable moment
There's kinda some horrifying implications about this stage mostly after finally escaped from Fake Peppino's stage Apparently it turn out Fake Peppino's pizza restaurant was actually turn out originally belongs to Bruno hence the name of the restaurant, however this might means that Peppino was probably not the first pizza restaurant owner who was the main target by Pizzaface...
@@Randomguy69420Idk what? isn't there evidence that fake peppino is in fact a peppino clone and not some guy named bruno that looks like him? what about the WAR background with the cloning tubes?
The music timed with that gave me GOOSEBUMPS the first time. Really a spectacle to experience. Gave that "prepare yourself. you're not ready for this" vibe.
when you start to think about it the level is almost entirely matched to the song if you play it at the right pace, like when Fake Peppino dashes for the first time the music star picking pace
Ok but like any boss fight where you have to run away AND platform is the scariest shit ever- it's scary when horror games like rabbit knight do it and it's still terrifying in a more comedic game like pizza tower
one minor thing i noticed is that peppinos legs are almost always crossed inwards, while fake peppino's legs are usually bent outwards, i wonder if that was something ever considered while spriting him
I honestly wish they didn't slow Fake Peppino down to a set speed on the chase phase, I love how he keeps up with you but not in an overwhelming way, literally just inches behind you at all times, makes it a lot scarier. Like how Monster Ock in the old Spiderman PS1 game was, that was genuinely horrifying but well designed.
I like how during the transition from phase 1 to phase 2 Fake Peppino has no health, it's like he forgot to regenerate his healthbar like other bosses do, meaning the healthbar doesn't apply to him, adding to the uncanny feeling of the fight
@@JasonPadiernos he's saying that Fake Peppino's body looks like its made of pizza dough Which honestly makes the "making pizzas out of himself" theory a little more reasonable
I'm pretty sure pizza face create this creature to be a competitor to peppino or even destroying his business. Also, this creature's name seems to be "Bruno" because of the name of the restaurant at the end of the chase sequence.
@@eliottdeletraz97 maybe he was another chef like peppino but he dint manage to destroy the pizza tower and got his pizzeria destroyed by pizza face and maybe pizza face experimented and that lead to the creation of fake peppino
i just realized how when fake peppino turns around, he shows no movement in his legs, and when he finishes screaming, he just goes into his idle, and his legs still haven’t moved, *implying he just broke his bones (if he has any, which i doubt) and survived*
One detail which Is small but I find interesting is that every other boss in the tower is kinda doing something at the start of the battle, pepper man is painting a portrait of peppino, Vigilante is looking at peppinos wanted poster, noise is just messing with him, but with fake, you just *find him* it’s like he (fake) just spending most of its time just doing nothing, it makes it feel like a creature that is just endlessly waiting for a new play thing to enter its cage. Or maybe it’s just me.
yep, well, not entirely when I saw the graffiti (idk how I managed to guess it lmao), but his attacks did really surprise me (not by the concept, but his way to do them)
Peppino: I FOUND-A YOU.... FAKER!!!" Fake Peppino: "Faker? I think-a you're-a the fake-a chef around here. You're-a comparing yourself to-a me? HAH! You're-a not good enoug-" Peppino: "I'll Make-a you eat those words!!!"
What I don't like from this fight is that you have to wait until he's done with the attacks so you can hit him. I know almost all other bosses works like that, but this one takes more time between that attack and when you can hit.
so that's how the chase scene looked like pre-patch... so much more terrifying compared to the new version where I can just run away far enough to not be scared anymore.
i actually have a pretty good tip for this boss: wear the blood red outfit if you have it. this makes it incredibly easy to tell the difference between fake peppino and his clones, as the clones will somewhat look like they are wearing the "shitty cook" outfit. any outfit goes, but blood red is the best one. under NO circumstances are you EVER to wear the bad bones pattern, this is by far the hardest one for the boss considering how little differences there are. all you can look for on the clones with this outfit are the skulls, which are usually somewhat difficult to make out.
the way it changes from a kind of normal looking bootleg peppino with "NOTHING COMPARES!" and "Peppino's Pizza 2" to a terrifying version with "FRTXJPIHCBATTZRDIHJPS!" and "Peppino Peppino Peppino Peppino" is so unexpected
I just noticed 4 things... 1. There's a hand coming out of the left trash bag 2. A head coming out of the pizza boxes at the right next to the right trashbag 3. A leg coming out of the right trashbag And last but not least 4. There's eyes in the crack to the bottom left of the "Nothing compares" drawing...
While Pizzahead was still "Totino the Pizza Guy", sad and desperate to keep his business afloat, he crossed paths with Bruno, the owner of another pizzeria rivaling Peppino's. Bruno sympathized with the poor mascot, and said to him "If there's anything I can do to help, let me know." Bruno would regret that offered kindness in the moments after Pizzahead uprooted his entire restaurant building for incorporation into the Pizza Tower, right up until a large cheese pizza ordered from Peppino's was genetically merged with his body. After that, he became a shambling mess that thought it _was_ Peppino, too unstable to actually cook pizza or believably impersonate the real chef, too amorphous to destroy outright... but perfectly content in a room that looked like Peppino's pizzeria.
Yeah because it implies your not alone in the room and your being watched in a room full of the same creature ready to strike is such a creepy sight ngl
I love fake peppino’s boss to death, It’s one of my favorite moments in the game. My only issue is the fact that during the chase, the stakes aren’t too high, he doesn’t instakill you like you would expect and you can easily outrun him. That’s my only gripe with the boss, it’s perfect otherwise.
*SPOILER WARNING* Try to put yourself in Peppino's shoes and see how he feels now Your restaurant is going bankrupt, some giant flying pizza said it's going to blow up all your possessions, you have to run around a huge tower of different sizes, fight some giant peppers, gunslinger cheese, and your archnemesis (who unlike you doesn't have to worry about tax debts) and your only company is your distant relative and his pet rat. Plus, it's probably the worst floor so far. You have to run on shit, you're cold because you just got out of a huge fridge, your shoes are dirty after visiting the city of pigs, and you just found out that a huge pizza is making a factory of robots that look like you. You reach the boss and say "I hope i kicks his ass soon" You walk in and... you see a figure similar to you. He turns and....in front of you is your gruesome, bulging-eyed clone. Moments later, the entire room is covered with huge, disgusting clones. You somehow defeat the "right" clone, but instead of getting the key, the floor collapses and you fall into a *_SUSPICIOUS_* basement. You think "It couldn't be that bad" and all of a sudden your clone runs out of the corridor like a monster that wants to eat you. You run away from this place as fast as you can so that it doesn't get you. You're just "escape" this thing is out there hunting you, but you don't care and you run away from this messed up place. What about the next floor? FNAF Pizzeria, Haunted Castle and Back to W.A.R. Seriously, if a giant pizza flew in and gave me the choice of blowing up my restaurant or facing my worst fears, I'd probably choose to blow up the restaurant.
Honestly its refreshing to see one of these videos dedicated to a boss fight where the person playing isn't a super try hard at the game and is just playing casually
This boss has led me to come up with a new term: Shock Boss. A boss that is so out of place with the rest of the game, it sends a sense of disturbance and panic within you. And by the end of the fight, you think: “Wh-Was any of that real?”
My headcannon: Bruno was another competitor pizza chef to Pizzaface. Pizzaface literally stole his restaurant and captured him. Bruno was turned into this…thing resembling Peppino and made him think he really was Peppino.
i really fuck with how the text bubble in the background changes in phase two, it reminds me of how a baby views letters as just something that "works" if you throw enough of them together, which would be pretty in line with the idea of this being a fucked up clone, a perversion trying to fit in
How does the final sequence work, does he adjust to your speed, I was bolting through the last bit super well and I never saw him, either I'm really good or my game was broken.
@@HiddenForbidden2 that's what it says in the patch notes v1.0.187 and v1.0.189 "Adjusted the floor 4 boss final sequence again" I fought fake peppino before these updates and didn't see him in the chase sequence, I also got a perfect, so I had no reason to fight him again.

I wonder what happened to Bruno and his now abandoned pizzeria which we escape from crazy fake Peppino?
Fake peppino probably cosumed him I mean it's a possibility
This game doesn't have much mystery behind it but this topic intrigues me...
What happened to Bruno and why was his pizzeria left in that state?
@JamCat my running idea is that Bruno was a failed pizza restaurant that was destroyed by the Pizza tower, and from what I remember, the Tower keeps a record of every restaurant it destroys, so this is the memory of Bruno's pizza, whose owner likely failed the challenge of reaching the top and has their resturaunt destroyed. Fake Peppino just resides there, likely because it's comforting in some wierd way.

Definitely could see Fake Pep screaming YOY HOY MINOY! happily as he comes crashing thru your wall hungrily.

I just noticed that the background changed when fake peppino entered his 2nd phase.
Here, take an attention to the background: 2:14
One detail which Is small but I find interesting is that every other boss in the tower is kinda doing something at the start of the battle, pepper man is painting a portrait of peppino, Vigilante is looking at peppinos wanted poster, noise is just messing with him, but with fake, you just *find him* it’s like he (fake) just spending most of its time just doing nothing, it makes it feel like a creature that is just endlessly waiting for a new play thing to enter its cage.
Or maybe it’s just me.
You know what i love about the fight’s music?
When Fake peppino starts running all across the screen, the drums go ham with him.
Idk just fun to me
That moment is incredible to me
I have a hc that fake peppino was a prototype or something of the peppino clones that are found in WAR
Or a failed ugly clone
That doesn't seem too far off actually
I have a similar theory, except that they used a wad of dough to create fake peppino, explaining why he can multiply and stretch
@@BubbaMassacre A valid theory. It also fits the pizza theme. Maybe those test tubes in the background of WAR are filled with said dough
It's like liquid snake
I love how the game hides this boss and calls it boss 4 instead
surely a surprise to new players
yep, well, not entirely when I saw the graffiti (idk how I managed to guess it lmao), but his attacks did really surprise me (not by the concept, but his way to do them)
And it baits and switch you by making the player think it'll be a simple mirror match
Peppino: I FOUND-A YOU.... FAKER!!!"
Fake Peppino: "Faker? I think-a you're-a the fake-a chef around here. You're-a comparing yourself to-a me? HAH! You're-a not good enoug-"
Peppino: "I'll Make-a you eat those words!!!"
*rips his lung out*
Fake Peppino: "Im the coolest."
Try it with dark cook
the way it changes from a kind of normal looking bootleg peppino with "NOTHING COMPARES!" and "Peppino's Pizza 2" to a terrifying version with "FRTXJPIHCBATTZRDIHJPS!" and "Peppino Peppino Peppino Peppino" is so unexpected
I just noticed 4 things...
1. There's a hand coming out of the left trash bag
2. A head coming out of the pizza boxes at the right next to the right trashbag
3. A leg coming out of the right trashbag
And last but not least

Bruno sympathized with the poor mascot, and said to him "If there's anything I can do to help, let me know."
Bruno would regret that offered kindness in the moments after Pizzahead uprooted his entire restaurant building for incorporation into the Pizza Tower, right up until a large cheese pizza ordered from Peppino's was genetically merged with his body. After that, he became a shambling mess that thought it _was_ Peppino, too unstable to actually cook pizza or believably impersonate the real chef, too amorphous to destroy outright... but perfectly content in a room that looked like Peppino's pizzeria.

I like how halfway though the fight the room shows what true doppelgängers do
*SPOILER WARNING*
Try to put yourself in Peppino's shoes and see how he feels now
Your restaurant is going bankrupt, some giant flying pizza said it's going to blow up all your possessions, you have to run around a huge tower of different sizes, fight some giant peppers, gunslinger cheese, and your archnemesis (who unlike you doesn't have to worry about tax debts) and your only company is your distant relative and his pet rat.
Plus, it's probably the worst floor so far.
You have to run on shit, you're cold because you just got out of a huge fridge, your shoes are dirty after visiting the city of pigs, and you just found out that a huge pizza is making a factory of robots that look like you.
You reach the boss and say "I hope i kicks his ass soon"
You walk in and... you see a figure similar to you.
