it was only once I started watching these walkthroughs over and over again that my anxiety with this game finally subsided. I used to get so scared I'd get nauseated and have to turn it off.
My dad would play the games and me and my siblings (except for my older brother) would either run out of the room or cover our eyes and peek on this scene and the Dexter Eagan scene in the library, lol. 😂 The graphics were amazing back then. Now we look back and laugh at how fake it all looks. 😂
I just got to the part where I open up the new passageway off the speakeasy today, and I came here to watch you finish the game for me cuz I'm too scared. 😂 I'm 30 years old and I played this as a child bahahaha.
I don't think I ever fully appreciated how awesome the intro to this game was when I was a kid, with the Red Knot "fake" scare followed by the actual ghost dogs, and Sally breaking up on the phone. It was super well written.
Aw, I know this was last year, but I’m so sorry about your car accident. I can hear the anxiety in your voice. Thank you for sharing. Nothing like a date with Nancy Drew to ease stress! ❤
That would have to be like a billion dollars worth of gold Edit: 16 oz per Lb 1 16 x 600 = 9,600 oz Gold Price = roughly $2,000/oz $2,000 x 9,600 = $19,200,000. Nancy found $19 Millions dollars worth of gold. (Not to mention the gold she found in Secret of Shadow Ranch with Dirk Valentine’s treasure. That was probably another couple Million.) Edit Edit: And the gold she found in Message in a Haunted Mansion! And the Treasure from Ransom of the Seven Ships. In her career Nancy has probably uncovered $50 Million dollars in Gold. Edit Edit Edit: We also can’t forget the absolute haul she found in Sea Of Darkness. That might bring it up a cool $100 Million.
this was my very first ND game I played! I think I was 10 years old and was WAY to scared to play on my own! We only played when my slightly older cousin would come over and we would designate her as the "clicker" XD I think it took over a year for us to complete it at the rate we were going HAHA. All that being said, I am now engaged and my siblings and I want this to be the first ND game we play with my fiance, who has never played before! :D
I can totally relate about being afraid after a car wreck. I avoided the turn where it happened for months afterwards. And certain loud sounds made me uncomfortable. It was a long time before I stopped jumping at every loud metal door closing. And this was an accident in which I was incredibly lucky and came out unscathed! My car was not so lucky. Couldn't imagine being injured afterwards, it'd probably still be haunting me to this day to some extend: dr follow ups and what not. I hope for your speedy recovery!
The irony of him disliking his name is my family uses that word to describe the combination of falling and getting hurt. We were very accident prone and you’d hear ARGGGH and then FUMPH (or vice versa) so it became a word. “Did you go Arglefumph? Need an ice pack or bandaid? No splinters?” Mom and Dad were pros.😆 And then we all got into Nancy Drew games and eventually found our friend. It just was so perfect
It's not weird. A lot of the times when we are in near death situations or we experience a traumatic event we want to make sure we finish or do something we love before its to late. I'm glad your alright.
I'm behind on the Mega Marathon and just now heard the details of your car accident. I was in a similar accident driving when I was in high school. I was waiting to turn left into my parents' driveway with my sister in the passenger seat and we got rear-ended by a driver going at least the speed limit (25 mph) if not faster. We were luckily uninjured, the car was a loss. I did start going out of my way to turn right into the driveway instead of having to sit and wait to turn left, even if it added a few minutes to my drive. It's been 13 or 14 years now and I still do that sometimes when I'm in my hometown. I hope your recovery goes well and driving becomes less scary again. I always enjoy listening to your videos at work and seeing your posts/comments in the Nancy Drew community.
Time will help with the driving. I got slammed hard in the back on the highway, enough to spin my car around to face oncoming traffic. Almost 10 years later, and am still hyper aware if someone is too close to me. I hope 2023 is better for you. You are making mine fun with these videos
I always die when Nancy says “I got the bajeebees scared out of me twice last night.” Rewatching this after the newest game came out makes me so sad because I miss the character and gripping story that the older games have. Even though this game isn’t perfect, it still has such fun and exciting elements that I wish I could find in some recent video games.
So I’ve been playing this board game called Wing Span and I found out that Red Knot is the name of a bird. At least they didn’t name him Purple Martin or a Warbler. LoL
I didn’t catch It being creepy when I was younger, but looking back it was SUPER creepy that this old man is just camped out on a young woman’s property, lol. 😅
I *want* to like this game, but I just can't stand the music! It's probably my least favorite game in terms of the music loops. I'm also not a fan of the fact that there's only 3 main characters.
Yeah the storyline is a bit boring with only 3 characters. I feel like that's why they tried to compensate with phone calls and intrigue. If there were just one more character it would feel more full. And yes the music is deafening at times lol.
They don’t make them like they used to, but Arglefumph stays the same. Love it!
anyone else use to be terrified of this game as a kid 😅😂
The scene of the dogs attacking the house always scared me!!! I had to play this game during the daytime only lol
Literally, no exaggeration had nightmares when I was a kid from this ND😂😬
it was only once I started watching these walkthroughs over and over again that my anxiety with this game finally subsided. I used to get so scared I'd get nauseated and have to turn it off.
As a kid?? I played this as a 17 year old and I slept in my parents bedroom that night 😂
My dad would play the games and me and my siblings (except for my older brother) would either run out of the room or cover our eyes and peek on this scene and the Dexter Eagan scene in the library, lol. 😂 The graphics were amazing back then. Now we look back and laugh at how fake it all looks. 😂
BEEN WATCHING SINCE I WAS LIKE 15 IM 22 NOW ❤️🖤❤️🖤 much love
Same here!! 22 now:) I started playing these games since I was 11 I think
Found Argle when I was 6 years old, and I'm 19 now 💀
Love listening to these at work, and I absolutely love the nancy drew games, keep up the great works man!

I wish they would still make them like this again. I miss the excitement of a new Nancy Drew game coming out. 😢
this is definitely in my top 10 favorite nancy drew games!!! I just like the woodys aesthetic!! I'd love to live in a place like this #goals 🏞️🥾🌲🌲🐿️

That is so cool! Thanks for doing the math 😊
Lol and she still goes unpaid to this day!
I'm surprised Ranger Akers hasn't arrested Red Knott for trespassing
If some old man asks you to take pictures for him in the woods, don‘t just agree
Red Knott is creepier than any ghost dog could ever be.

The bug hunt is an odd ball. You have to look really carefully for them.
You were looking for bugs at night? You're off the case!
I like Arglefumph. So memorable.
The irony of him disliking his name is my family uses that word to describe the combination of falling and getting hurt. The video disappeared🤣 I fell asleep watching this. When is your next stream player?
Bless you Nancy
Wait… How did Bess know Nancy was calling when it was from Sally’s phone? 😝
lets see a cabin in the woods and a lake now we need jason lol
In case anyone else was curious, the strix varia that redd mentions is an owl. That's why he bird watches at night :p
I am very appreciative of this knowledge. I just blindly was like, "Red Knott is doing Red Knott."
“Do we have any marshmallows?” 😅😂

This is scary so scary almost made me cry once
is the Neo movie cover with a cop in blue a nod to the Resident Evil series? Looks like Leon Kennedy to me.
I agree, it’s so weird that he just lives outside on her property and doesn’t tell him to bug off.
They protec they attac
I always die when Nancy says “I got the bajeebees scared out of me twice last night.”

100 % agree, the games will never be the same again. Thankfully we got these vids to keep us comfy and nostalgic.
So I’ve been playing this board game called Wing Span and I found out that Red Knot is the name of a bird. At least they didn’t name him Purple Martin or a Warbler. LoL
Completely forgot how creepy the ghost dogs one is...literally went and closed the blinds bc of it. xD
I didn’t catch It being creepy when I was younger, but looking back it was SUPER creepy that this old man is just camped out on a young woman’s property, lol. 😅
Hay bird seed is good
Is Nancy not with Ned yet during this one?
I *want* to like this game, but I just can't stand the music! It's probably my least favorite game in terms of the music loops. I'm also not a fan of the fact that there's only 3 main characters.
Maybe just try it out without the music?
Yeah the storyline is a bit boring with only 3 characters. I feel like that's why they tried to compensate with phone calls and intrigue. If there were just one more character it would feel more full. And yes the music is deafening at times lol.
