this is kinda false, they couldnt say anything about his drug addiction because it would of made him lose his job. obviously the criminal minds writers kinda dropped the storyline after s2 (except for emilys "death" and his fight w jj in s7 and when he went to the meeting for clean cops after almost relapsing for a second time) so that's something that was on their part but otherwise they had no choice. they def could of offered their support but there wasnt much that could be done. and when maeve died, jj n garcia went to visit him at his apartment and when he came back the entire time went to his apartment and helped him clean up.

I agree. I would love a Reid of Matthew in real life. he's awesome to me and I adore him.
