- Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett isn't exactly shy about his love of the horror genre. Hammett hosted his own horror-themed metal festival, has been featured in documentaries about the genre, and just loves talking about horror. Now Hammett is curating his own exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts titled "It's Alive! Classic Horror and Sci-Fi Art From the Kirk Hammett Collection," and Revolver has gotten a pretty in-depth look at the exhibit from the man himself.
Check out the video below, which features a talk with Hammett, his walkthrough of the exhibit, and even a trip to the Salem Witch Museum!

I made it into the video oh my god! I'm the kid at the end with the metallica hat and having Kirk sign my book! He was such a great man and very talkative!
Kurt Tobie how was it like meeting Kirk?
@@justpunishingvaginassince1923 🤮
@Punishing Vagies... Is that a reference to Kirk's pet "Snippy" getting the bone by his neighbor❓
I always thought Salem would be the kind of place Kirk would want to live in. The it's Alive exhibition is awesome btw. I love Salem!
It's a short but great video of Salem. I wish it was longer with more information and more nice/gruesome scenes. And Kirk as a "celebrity" talking about Salem and the history of the witch trials was cool.
Salem is not a good place to live lots of Shootings and other stuff going on there The witch museum is cool though
0:39 That's the mind of a genius!
The mind of an occult Satanist
Christian Whitmore yes, yes he is
Or just a phrygian scale...
NEW ORLEANS would be a good place for KIRK as well with all the voodoo stuff & not to mention it's very much the most haunted city in the country if not the world. the French quarters alone would creep you out.
Love you Kirk Hammett!!!
Wow!
My favorite guitarist of all time has been to the city I was born... and it got a compliment :b
The Salem Witch Museum scared the crap out of me when I was 5... it hasn't changed one bit.. and 40 years later, still scares me
Yet you're into voodoo.
I love how he put metal horns up to the Satan in the Witch Museum.
It's so cool that he puts his thoughts into music.

Great to be able to express your feelings through music!
I love Salem, I go every year. The “It’s Alive” exhibition was awesome. As soon as you walk in, you see Nosferatu creeping up the stairs. Bad ass
What a legend!
liked the way she was looking at her when she was talking about being sympathetic towards the prosecutors lol
1:37 "as above, so below" One Craftsman talking to other Craftsmen.

Prob not, but I do have questions about Cliff.
It was the fungus called Camus which grows on wheat gain.
It was Ergot that is in the mold on Rye bread actually. Like LSD.
Kirk rocks ❤❤❤❤

R.I.P. Sarah Good..
When will you be having this Museum again open up you know with you being there so I could save up so I could get a hotel around the area so I can come down and maybe record this or getting a little interview with you for my show called sci-fi ninja theater
....and then Jimmy Page walked up, and Kirk said 'Master!'
Just wish your audio is a little bit louder
Was that song Kirk played at the end really "Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky? Or was he just joking around? I liked it.
It was but in a different key and I think a slightly different rendition
