We have a few large crane companies here in my area. My buddy was an operator of a power plant. The engine owner went with a different crane company than the usual. They dropped the gas turbine. Turns out their insurance policy didn’t cover that type of material. Crane company told the company to sue them. Well, the engine wasn’t owned by the power company, GE owned it. You can guess how that went.
I had to pick up a GE Lm 2500 turbine worth $15 million with my old Grove TMS 870 truck crane . Was nervous . 67,000 horse power but weighed 12 ton . Amazing power that turbine had .
I am kind of curious. What is that clicking sound when raising or lowering>? Is there a cam or something on the main line? Or is that just an audible bit of feedback on an indicator?
How do you match the stretch of the slings with different lengths to come up wity the proper length of the chain slings and end up level to pick the tapered load of unequal weight? Do you have to make several trial picks to check balance?
I know this guy ima eat dinner at his house to night 😜
I hope everything is going good. Your videos are missed. I hope you get back to it if and when you want to.

Most electric power plants have them.
