The legendary musicians JAN DELAY & DELAYDIES feat. DJ MAD, performed at the Best Brands Awards 2023. Germany’s only study-based brand ranking was helt at the famous hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich.

Jan Phillip Eißfeldt, known professionally as Jan Delay, is a German rapper and singer born on 25 August 1976. His stylistic range includes hip hop, reggae, dub, and funk. Delay rose to prominence as a member of the German bands Absolute Beginner and La Boom. He also performed with his group 'Disko No. 1' at the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf.
Delay was born in Hamburg and attended the bilingual Helene-Lange-Gymnasium from 1986 to 1995. He became known in the 1990s as one third of the pioneering German hip hop group Beginner. His stage name is a reference to Young Deenay, a pop music act in the 90s. A notable characteristic of Delay is his somewhat nasal voice, and he frequently changes his stage name depending on his current music style, mood, and collaboration partners.
In 1997, Delay founded his own record label Eimsbush, with the aim of supporting and guiding fresh underground talents. However, due to financial reasons and the challenges of supporting talent outside the mainstream, the label was shut down in 2003.
Some of his albums include "Searching for the Jan Soul Rebels" (2001), "Mercedes Dance" (2006), "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Soul" (2009), and "Earth, Wind & Feiern" (2021).
