I was playing with my 2 Gately Audio 6.5" Relentless subs and i noticed one was moving way more than the other one. Of course one is brand new and the other is a little older so that is why. So i decided to break the new sub in, the FAST way!

I was playing with my 2 Gately Audio 6.5" Relentless subs and i noticed one was moving way more than the other one. Of course one is brand new and the other is a little older so that is why. So i decided to break the new sub in, the FAST way! I currently have a DS18 H-K05 Amp on the bench (rated 5,000 watts) and an SMD IMSG+ ready to go at all times. This speaker flexed so hard and didn't even break a sweat. Links in the description. Thanks for watching if you did! Especially if you watched the entire 2nd half of the video :) That SMD Screwless Terminal cup has came a long way! So simple yet so effective! www.wccaraudio.com
Brother Steve these new terminal plates are sickkk, next you'll have to do screwless and magnetic pull off plates! It can be done same concept make the two plates that sandwich the box and then have the magnetic quick disconnect terminals stick to the outer plate!
Bro, your ingenuity is out of this world. Those terminals are doooope!
Your innovations to the car audio world are amazing.
Keep it up Mr. Meade!
Damn bro I remember watching your vids 15 years ago… still killing it… 🙌 LEGEND
Nope
Very nice, product flawless you can see it was made by a true bass head.... thanks Steve!
It's absolutely off the wall how far 8 and 6.5 subs have come over the past decade. Like 300w was godly before, now you got 7/800 watt monsters putting 12s to shame with their xmax and even xmech! When I get a new daily next year, I am absolutely redoing the doors in my blazer and going with some of these Gatelys in big(for doors), sealed enclosures. All the eights I looked at would have you with this monstrous door panel or the 6.5s were too anemic for a High SPL 3-way front stage.
this is amazing, the movement of the speaker looks like it's going to let go, it moves like a pump, it can go up and down as hard as that sub
Been watching you since I was 6 love to see you still at it
Fantastic. Id like to see one with a cover on it to protect from anything touching it.
Wow these are next level terminals! Smart design!
Breaking In that woofer is like me stretching my back and hearing my spine crack.
Dang those 8s flexing like the big boys. 💪
6.5s
@@amirbasssystem even more impressive
@@mutatedgenome yea i know the xmax is crazy 🥶

Thank you for the comment! We appreciate it! :)
Look at that crinkle crinkle…super power on those, noice
I been looking at that Ds18 hooligan 2k was debating on the hooligan 2k or the digital designs M2000 heard there same almost but not sure. Those gatley subs are bad ass definitely gonna have to decide if I wanna go with 4 gatley 6.5s or 4 DD 1506s super charged. I know they both will slam in the correct box in my truck. Gonna have to get me some of them smd terminals and smd DD1 plus for sure💯🔊💨💨
those terminals look real nice
The Vinnie Paz of audio! Appreciate the video
❤❤❤ that's insane excursion
Love the music being pounded damn awesome as always !!
You are just going to have to listen to my system from across the street because I am not letting you see the wiring in my system. lol
The amount of flex is insane
I reckon it would still take a good 6 hours or so at 20hz like that, I know it takes roughly 25 hours of in car application full tilt to break in good subs like the SSA XCON
not really. It was already just about matched up to the other sub in about 30 minutes of doing this off and on.
@@meade916 But how much was that other sub broken in is the question, they may match now but does that necessarily mean they're now both fully broken in, they may both have more potential in them still
Wow. That's bullet proof
Dang those things are killer
Wow....nice speaker boss.. watching here in the Philippines..god bless too all
THANK YOU STEVE
Nice! Getting close to a million subscribers!
What a great design.
Hope you sell a ton of them.
Well this just shows the idea of the misnomer of so many people confusing what "breaking in" a sub to avoid damage is foolish. Just use it normally and it will "break in" (loosen up) with some play time. Or you can flex it free air like this to reduce the amount of time it takes to soften up, SQ always increases once it loosens up.
settle down Walt. I didn't say you HAVE to break anything in. I never break shit in. I just play them and let it happen naturally. But one of my 8's was really used and soft while one was brand brand BRAND new and stiff. It was so different that the subs looked out of phase when first hooked up. So far off they looked like 2 different subs. So i stretched the new one a bit so they are now both a little closer. That's all.
@@meade916 Id say there was a misunderstanding I agree 100% I also give em the beans as soon as I put power to them. If the spider or surround lifts from poor glue job not from using it like it's intended to, it will happen at some point regardless if it's poorly built and I'd rather it failed ASAP vs after warranty is up. What I was saying is where you were flexing them from the get go debunked the whole break in myth. You obviously know but so many don't know that the whole "break in" is urban myth it was misconstrued at some point from a process a sub goes through not a prerequisite before using them. Saying my sub is broke in just means the suspension is now how it was engineered to be. Typically with even a SQL sub before they have some flex and play time they sound pretty flat and not very dynamic like a SPL focused sub.✌️ I love the flex videos and your crazy huge B2's.
You just made people who believe in slow breaking in of subs heads explode 😂
Hey brother! Can you make an in-depth video on wiring up mids and highs with the little crossover blocks? I’m getting extremely stuck on the mids and highs part and how to wire/power them correctly
where is this going the bass on that track hits hard
i remember breaking my subs in with that song a few times
i will try this
Bet those would sell like crazy.
i need one of those screwless terminals i gotta get my build going lol
So much flexing going right there. How much would you charge for something like that for a fellow basshead. Much love and respect for sharing this my friend.
Everything you need can be found here at my store: wccaraudio.com/
Thank you!! :)
@@meade916 I appreciate the love my man. Thanks so much for sharing this.
I definitely want to buy or male some of those. Nice build on the terms'

Those subs are getting down! Gately FTW.
I'm late but I'm in the building 💪🏾
wow!
Love your videos Steve, keep up the great work.
But can I ask.. what’s the difference apart from colour, for when using Aluminium vs copper vs stainless steel? Doesn’t the current flow the same through them all or does it depend on how much power your trying to put out?
VERY NICE BRO
It's such a good stuff......beavo
If u put the subs out of phase when u do that they won't shake the whole table like that!
yes they will. Probably twice as much. If they were in a box they might not though.
He did it for effect. Pretty impressive for 6.5s.
HAPPY 420!
Good
So if i had 4 12s, all 2 ohm subs, how can i wire them up to 1 ohm final load impedance
Assuming you have dual 2 ohm subs, you’ll wire each sub parallel to 1 ohm. Then wire two subs together in series to 2 ohms. (Exactly like Steve demonstrated) In your case you have another set, so repeat. Each set of two would then be wired parallel back down to 1 ohm.
Are you ready for chicken hill project 2
Good Sh!t!!
Are those terminals up for sale to the public?
#BOSSMAN 🔊🔊🔊🔊🤝🏾
What do you mean by "leak?"
Leak air
Long time follower....love those terminals. Forgive me because I haven't looked on your site yet, but do those bolts come in different lengths? The box I'm working on is double 3/4" birtch. Thanks!!
we have bolts for 3/4" and 1" boards. If you need something special for a thicker board like that i can provide them for you. You just have to let us know before you order. Sales@wccaraudio.com - thanks man!
@meade916 Will do, thank you!
Well I've been taught wrong. I was told take it easy on it and this definitely aint easy lol...now I'm confused ..
Do you do motorcycle audio as well or not yet?
So how would these work if you're box already has the other ones on it??would u take em off then there would be a whole..or do u put this over the old already cut spot
Was looking at the store and I want to get one of the new screwless 2 channel terminals but i don’t see the jumper bar anywhere on the site. Am i just missing it on there, or have you not put those up yet?
Ooh
Is that a Korean amp?
“Everything reminds me of her…”

Hey my twin 10 Skar subwoofers are making loud popping and cracking sounds when I turn them up loud anyone have an idea what the issue maybe? I am new to the whole subwoofer world. Thank you
Coil bottoming out?
Adjust subsonic
Just cruising around would it hurt the amplifier to play it at one ohm all the time on 4-15 crossfire XT4 4-15 amplifier 2-8k
Good 💩
I love your stuff man ❤️ fuck sake 💎 it's an art ❤️
