Don't worry, everyone; Brice did his first and last RAM TRX burn out today.. We do not recommend brunouts in 2WD mode. *Do Burnouts at your own risk!*

I’ve heard nothing but bad experiences doing shit like this and installing a Tazer.
    F’ a burnout I’ll pass.

It's great for fishtails guys. Forget doing burnouts.
The TRX can be forced into RWD without the device, but you'll end up with a bunch of flashing lights all over the place on the dashboard

Two fails in a row for sdhq - I kinda feel like a clown for buying their a-pillar light pod mounts for my TRX 😬

I wouldn’t think it would improve mileage at all. The entire drivetrain for the front tires still spins even if it it’s my being powered. You’d have to put in free spin hubs or something similar to gain any mileage.

It will give more stress on the rear because it’s moving the entire weight of the truck which is not designed for that amount of weight.

So how do you get it back to 4X4. same way or can just push the button on the dash? Does it make the steering lighter being in rear wheel only?

❤ question❤ Whats the squeaking at idle on these trucks? Sounds almost like an idler pulley or something.

Has anyone driven in two-wheel drive long enough to see any mileage improvement? Is that even recommended?

Forcing 2WD for extended periods of time will trash the TRX's t-case, as it's designed to always be in a 4WD mode.
Many 4x4's don't have a transfer case that's meant to be engaged full time, that's why they have a 2wd mode - and 2WD is intended to be used UNLESS there's you're driving on a slippery surface (snow, off-road, etc.)
The 2wd mode will not yield any noticeable decrease in fuel consumption, as the components in the front axle are always being driven regardless of what setting the transfer case is in. Therefore, it's impossible to escape the parasitic drag in the drivetrain, plus 4x4 drivetrains are typically much heavier than a 2wd ONLY drivetrain (assuming everything else is the same) - so between those two aspects, more energy is ALWAYS needed to move a 4x4/4WD/AWD vehicle down the road compared to it's 2WD counterpart (if the specific vehicle has a 2WD only counterpart). It's a common misconception regarding 4x4 vehicles.

So Ram built a "prerunner" without being able to bomb around the desert in 2wd? SMH. Sure it has 700hp, but Ford still got it right.

There are lots of 4WD prerunners, get into those hills outside of Barstow with your 2wd truck and let me know how it goes. If you are just in the dunes 2wd is fine, but they get old really fast
