Wilmer Wise is that genius first trumpeter. Hope to sound like him one day!!!!!
Masterclass
With all of Bernstein's facial expressions on this and other clips sometimes it's hard to tell whether he is satisfied of ticked off.
I'd just go with the safe bet and say he's ticked off
I did this production last summer(bass). Best and toughest music I ever played! I lived to tell!
My music professor is on 2:48 ...truly cool
Wonderful fantastic!... Leonard Bernstein genius!...❤️
Exceptional edit lift, Arnau884! Felicitations!
Perfection.
The best double-bass ever
Bernstein is sooo cool
Die Geste von Bernstein am Ende zeigt für mich, welche Art Gesang er für diese Aufnahme haben wollte.
Superbe 😮
Kurt Ollmann est fait pour cette musique !
1:03 Go low Ollmann!
As much as I’ll always love this song the soloist approaches this song too formally
yeah, he is an operatic singer after all. however it seems like he’s the least “opera-y” in his delivery than the other opera singers on this recording
Thank you for posting!
Trumpet is too early at 1:12 ; relieved to see that this can even happen to the best trumpet players
Who is that trumpeter?

What the hell is up with that vocal phrasing? It’s not a ballad.
The conductor - who seems to be rather familiar with this score - seems to be "cool" with his interpretation.
@John Swillinger Knew that, thanks. -Was just using a little sarcasm.
Perhaps this gotta be sung while dancing Robbins
I hate this version because of the singers. An amoeba has more personality and character than they do. The rest of the musicians are excellent.
