Incredibly simple and very useful tutorial, Marty! As a very experienced PSD user, it's not often I find a tip or trick I didn't already know or that was actually useful. The Alt+↓ trick is a new one for me. THANKS!!!
Sir you are always awesome i have followed your tuts since long time its from you i have learn photoshop but i only can copy your steps but can't make myself alone photoshop project i don't know why, maybe i dont parctise a lot. Even though its fun to copy your steps and enjoying photoshop.🙂
As always, excellent technique and tutorial. I've used something similar in the past, but neglected to do the angle adjustment on the copy first. I instead did a copy, 1 down, 1 over, then the repeat command. Yours is better! lol
Amazing as ever. Would you mind giving us the names of the fonts you used in the examples? There are some really attractive ones in your examples! Thanks for this tutorial!
Sorry, I didn't write down the fonts that I used as examples in the video, however, for the title card: "Fast": is Komika Display Kaps", "Long" is "Steel Tongs", "Shadow" is "Alfam" and "Effect" is "Arial Rounded MT Bold".
Why do you get 10k views only.. i mean that's alot of people.. but you deserve more because 1. You are an excellent teacher 2. You are very veryy clear about everything. If i we're god.... I would give you 1M views minimum
Deep down, I knew there was a better way to be doing my drop shadows. But as the years went on and I kept tediously drawing them in with the brush tool, it became more and more embarrassing to look up a solution. The good news is I sucked it up, watched this video, and will save myself so much time in the future. The bad news is I lost like five years of my life to absolutely WHACK drop shadows.
Very nice! ...I've been trying to find a way to outer glow/outline an object or text and still retain the sharp angles. Photoshop just rounds over the corners. I know you can do this in illustrator but is this possible in photoshop? Thanks

So sorry you're having this issue. Instead of merging them, you could also convert them into one Smart Object. Once all the shadow layers are active, click the icon at the upper, right of the Layers panel to open the fly-out list and click "Convert to Smart Object".
@@BLTV_Photoshop Hi Marty, please accept my apologies, I have managed to do it, and it's working, I think I have discovered why I struggled so much, I have tremors in my hands and before merging, I have been catching the trackpad on my laptop, before shift and click. But, I've just managed to do it successfully now. Thank you. Is there any way I can reduce the size of the shadow though, as the shadow is too big. But again, I've managed to do it, the only part I couldn't do is to change the colour, but that doesn't really matter. 🙂
The best photoshop teacher in the world, Blue lightning TV. Thanks
100%
Was NOT expecting that route, but... it works.
WOW... I’ve been watching different PS tutorials for years and I can surely say this is the most badass trick I’ve seen 👏👏👏

You are amazing❤❤

Adobe hasn't added this feature yet in PS. In my opinion, it is sorely needed!
Alt+down arrow. That alone was worth it
What is the Font name that you used in this tutorial?

@@BLTV_Photoshop Glad to hear from you. Thanks so much.
is there no other way than making 150 layers? maybe like the blend-tool in Illustrator?
In CC 2019, this was (and still is) the quickest way to create smooth, long shadows in Photoshop.
Can you make tutorial about 3d text
I've done many of them. Go to my channel and click the magnifying glass icon (next to “About”). Type in "3D text"
Amazing..... I tried making it into an action but I keep getting an error command
My CS6 version doesn't seem to support the Opt + Down Arrow method of replicating/nudging the shadow effect. Is this tutorial exclusive to CCx?
Sorry. Missed the "Photoshop CC 2019 quick tip tutorial" blurb. (Duhh).
is there a way I can make this text go straight back like the ozzy osbourne ordinary man/his logo in general
Same technique, except the text is transformed back little by litte.
Change the height and width to 99.9% then use the ctrl+alt+shift+t multiple times
Super Cool video, can I ask on thing
Hi can u tell me the font name plz.thanks
The font that I used in the video is "Alfam".
Blue Lightning TV Photoshop thx a lot
option + down does nothing for me in ps on Mac latest ps version? Why?
Where in the video, please (minute:second)?
1:29
I know this is old, but what worked for me is to make sure you have the move tool selected before you press option + down.
@@faeryeharp Thanks - worked when I was on the move tool
super
Mine doesn't move the layer down one pixel at a time, it does it for several pixels. Any idea why?
If it's moving the layer more than 1 pixel, it may be due to your Shift key. Make sure the key isn't active.
it was WINDOWS + ALT + DOWN for me.
The tutorial was great otherwise!! Thanks!
I'm sorry, but no matter what I do, these layers will not merge. I am following this video step by step. The layers will not merge.
