- A review of the Harbinger Vari v2312 powered speaker. I really like this speaker and have been using it for my rental business. This speaker has paid for itself quickly.
*Update* I no longer make the speaker covers. It was a nice side income but I no longer have the time and resources that I used to have. I'll be posting a video on how to make them using moving blankets from Harbor Freight.
I tested out my v2310 Harbinger outdoor, it was loud and I only set it the master volume 1 o clock, the the bass knobs and all of them were set on 12:00, so this thing never disappoint me at all. 💯💯💯
Good to hear! I still use this speaker with no issues.
@@logisticalstyles WOW!!!! Looks like I'm about to purchase the 12-in soon this year for my next DJ gigs on the go. 💯💯💯💯
Just bought a pair of these on sale for $199 each...I have done one gig with them and love them...Later on down the road, going to add a sub to the setup... Thank you for the review!!!!
Thanks for the review, I purchased this speaker about a year ago to use as a monitor for my Roland SPD SX and in my studio. I love the the fact that It has blue tooth and somewhat of an EQ. I haven't taken iyt out on a gig yet but I know it can do the job, Great product,
The Bluetooth feature comes in habdy.

I have the V2315 and I love em!!....Petty Good Speakers!!😎✌
Im a dj and the V2315 gets tha Job done!!..I would highly recommend these Speakers!!..Realtalk!!!
I have the 10s, I'm definitely upgrading to the 12s. I think those will be perfect. Plus my boy hooks me up with his pricing so the pair will only be 300 bucks. Can't go wrong really.
Too bad you don't make speaker covers.. I saw this on sale, an open box online and your review was so good that, I ordered it! Thanks for sharing.
I have two of those. They work great for playing music at outdoor events.
I'm really considering either getting a second one although I don't really need it. It works well when used within it's parameters.
@@logisticalstyles the reason I have two is because I can spread the the sound of the music out to a wider area.
Wat about indoor use? Could 2 of these fill a small pub gig? Would one be loud enough to get vocals over live drums?
@@threecallingcrows1371 Without a doubt. They have an incredibly good sound, and can get very loud. You won't have any problem using them indoors.
Thanks for telling me they work good outside. That’s what I was looking for. Most of my parties are outdoors
Thank you so much, good video. Blessings! 🔥😊
I just got a pair of the v2315 on black friday at Guitar Center, and i used them for the first time at a party last Saturday, and i have to say, these speakers so far are pretty good, and they get really loud and sound clear without distorting like ive seen on some speakers that are more expensive that these when you turn them up, and the bass on these is pretty deep and not overpowering. By any chance, do you make covers for the 15 inch version. I would like to get some covers for mine. Thanks
Ernesto Avilez grabbing mines tomorrow
I felt the same way. The sound was loud and clear. I was pleasantly surprised.
I can make covers for the 15" as well.
How much for the covers shipped
dj_ gblaze $45 each
I bough 2 of those and they sound real good and just order the sub
Hi. Is this really has 2000 watts peak? That’s means 500 rms 1000 program
Thanks
The actual RMS power (continuous wattage) is 350W. 2000W is simply the peak power (a nano second of 2000W without blowing the speaker). It is misleading. However, I own a pair of these and they sound pretty good...however, for DJ use with a lot of bass, you'll certainly need some sub's.
@@ToppOppp The Alto TX212 is a great sub for the price...$299. It's 400w continuous and runs well with tops in the 350 - 450w range...
@@ToppOppp That's honestly the lowest I would go without being worried about the speaker being too weak...
@@ToppOppp it shouldn't be that much of a difference...especially with the sub
The 199 sale happens almost every holiday so there are many opportunities to get this speaker on sale
Cause guitar center owns harbinger, so they're always trying to sell the speakers
I have to Mackie thump 12 but are old and I think they are in the last hours of life. I was thinking to bought a pair of Thrash 212 bc I don't have the budget for a pair of ZLX 12BT. But I saw and hear this harbinger at a bar and I'm considering seriously buying it.
I have never regretted buying this speaker.
get them
@@bobwallacejnr6852 I just bought a pair and already use them 4 nights in a row (5-6 hours each time) and are Incredible. Great volume, decent bass, no clipping and a pretty decent audio quality. If you are in a budget but you want to look fancy, this Harbinger are a good option.
Beautiful review bro but I have a question. Im just a dude looking for a speaker with a bunch of bass, I listen to music inside my house. Would you say this is a good speaker? This seems very high quality like for concerts and if that’s the case then it has a lot of bass yeah? Sorry I’m new to speakers
It's a good speaker for listening to music in the house and even outside of the house. The bassis good when used indoors. You can always add a sub if you need more bass but this is fine for casual listening.
@@logisticalstyles thank you bro! 🖤🖤 fast reply that’s crazy I’ve been watching your other vids I like em!
@@logisticalstyles also the website says it comes with a sub installed already? Is that not correct
How do you sync them together
I have some of them.. I linked 2 of them & they are humming.. need help???
I would recommend trying a different cable to link them together. I no longer own this speaker so I can't give much more advice than that. I would think the hum is coming from a bad cable.
Hi , I have these speaker and I’m trying to figure it out bc I’m having some volume control issues . What exactly is the point of the mic setting on channel 1 and 2? Is that phantom power bc I can’t seem to find in the manual anything about it other then it boosts vocals . I’m using a dynamic microphone . Guitar center told me to turn it on but the vocals seem boomy and muffled .
The mic setting isn't for phanthom power. The output of a wired microphone is weaker than other equipment so it needs it's own setting. If you are using a wireless mic then you need to make sure the mic receiver is set to the same thing you set the channel input on the speaker to. In the end, you need to use whichever setting sounds best with your microphone.
Logisticalstyles thanks so much for the reply , I appreciate it
Great review. Thanks.
Guitar Center will price match. Musician's Friend has them for $199.00 on sale. Guitar Center will match that price. Thanks for the video.
there the same company
@@BIZMOTO with different prices
Hi...can you connect a different speaker or needs to be the same?
I have an old Pyle active speaker..Thanks for your videos.
Yes, you can chain these together with another active speaker, however, you won't be able to use the Smart Stereo feature.
@@logisticalstyles thank you !
Do you have a website for the speaker covers? I just bought 2 of these speakers and having a hard time finding covers.
I don't have a website but I can send you pictures of the covers. I have a pair that requested but never picked up. Let me know if you are interested in them.
Harbinger has some models exactly the same as the American brand B52, do you know if this brand changed from B52 to Harbinger?
very nice review , ty sir .
Hello my brother let me ask you something....can I record from the harbinger vari v2315 to my EDIROL by Roland R-09? If so how do I do that?
With the right adapter yes you can. The Harbinger speaker has an XLR Output that puts out a line level signal. You would need an XLR to 3.5 mm adapter to connect to the Line In port on the R-09.
If Harbinger keeps going in this direction, they will soon be a household name and a possible staple for mobile DJs. I have a pair of the V2215 for tops for two V2218S. I also have a pair of EV ELX200-15P with one ELX200-18SP and the Harbingers give the EVs a run for their money.
The only downside of the Harbingers is you really have to be careful on how you set the gain and volume. The drivers are quite power hungry and will clip the amp easily. Running subs with the V2215s saves them from reproducing the low bass notes, allowing them to play at higher volumes with minimal clipping. I have sound tested the V23XX series at my local Guitar Center and they sound absolutely incredible for the price! I think I will hold out on the V23XX series and look into the V41XX series instead. I kind of got spoiled by my EVs allowing me to adjust on the fly with the app. The V41XX series have an app to do that as well.
Longevity? Well all I can say is that my V2215 speakers have been going strong since the summer of 2018. I also do not push them beyond their limits either and keep it where the clip light will flicker ever so often, but not be constantly on each time the bass notes hit. This is a common mistake for some mobile DJs complaining how they blew their Harbingers. Take care of these speakers and they will serve you well.
I have a pair of the v2315 they sound really good i also have a pair of the ev ekx15p
Oscar Escolante Yeah I am still contemplating the 2213s even if just 12s for monitors or smaller gigs. I haven’t sampled the 4100 series from Harbinger, but reviews say they are the best of the Harbinger PA speakers.
Love the video
Thank you!
Very nice video. I just picked up this speaker today to use for my electronic drum set. I’m running it through my Mackie pro xp10 mixer. Hopefully it sounds good. Are you saying that this speaker sounds better than the peavey PVX 15 speaker. I’ve Heard the PVX and that sounds incredible.
Thanks! I use this speaker with the Mackie Pro FX8 and it sounds good. The Peavey PVX that I had previously was a 10" older model so, it's not an even comparison, but yes this sounds better than what I had.
@@logisticalstyles so I hooked up my Harbinger 2313 to my Mackie pro FX10 mixer and I’m getting a lot of his. Are you having the same issue? I can hear it when I get to 1/4 of the volume and of course when the music is playing I don’t hear it but I know it’s there. I’m using XLR from the channel 1 on the speaker to the output of the mixer. I have all devices plugged into the same outlet. I even used a 2 prong adaptor for the power cable and that didn’t work either. If you have any suggestions let me know please. In the mean time I became a proud subscriber of the Logisticalstyles page.
Hello, guitar center has a package 12inch or 15 inch with 18inch sub. Which would you suggest, mostly Latin music?
I would go with the 15 inch top with an 18 inch sub.
@@logisticalstyles and why would you choose the 15 over the 12? I read that the 12s have a fuller range than 15s.
@@logisticalstyles and thank you for taking the time to reply
Just ordered a pair of these and they make a terrible humming sound when on , nothing plugged in, with all the levels in the built in mixer at 0 connected to a power conditioner! Is this normal?? Also switch between voicings they pop super hard. I know it's not the wiring in my house because I have a set of Mackie thumps and they do not make the humming sound
Hmm, that's strange. I wonder if you got a bad pair. These are older models and they have been upgraded since I made this video. I don't have any hum or popping when switching modes. I also use the Mackie Thumps for my gigs. What equipment are you connecting to the Harbinger speaker?
@@logisticalstyles i have a Mackie pro 12 mixer hooked up to it but the humming happens regardless of the speaker having anything connected or not, it's super strange pretty bummed out, what bothers me the most is that the humming goes up as i turn on the volume so you can hear the humming through the music I'm playing.
For some reason performing in a large room where I need maximum volume plugging in my apple tablet into channel three does not equal the potential volume output of my microphone in channel one. The mic can get way loud but I can't get the same volume out of my tablet?. I use two speakers directed to the audience and if they are very loud I need a stage monitor. The only possible feed to the monitor is from the slave speaker out line. But there seems to be a bit of delay making it very difficult to hear myself clearly? What am I missing?
The only thing I can suggest is to make sure you have the volume of the iPad turned all the way up. I don’t own this speaker anymore so I can’t test it out.
Well done review
Thanks!
I went to the guitar center and the one on display was blown I ended grabbing the two ev zlx12 bts and I bought a use Behringer 1800d
You make a good choice ev zlx sounds really good
Hello! I’ve read that these speakers have a pretty high noise floor and have an audible hiss when no active signal is going to the speakers. Have you found this to be the case? Thanks!
Hi, I don’t own this speaker anymore but I never had an issue with that. I primarily used it outdoors and as a monitor so that may be why I never noticed it.
Dopeness bro
I want to get a pair of these. How many people do you think these speakers can accommodate without pushing them too hard?
I would say you could DJ for a crowd of 125 people with a pair of these comfortably. If you add a sub then you would get more power.
Any news on vari2400 series or should I just get the vari2300?
Is there not a fly point access on the v2312? where they are normally located, it is sealed or capped and unaccessible
No, I don't believe this speaker has any fly points.
How much for your speaker covers? I’m interested in 2 covers.
How much you charge for the speaker covers I currently have the V2315
Where can I get two of the 15’s covers
Hi’ great video,I’m A saxophonist who’s looking for A small PA for small venues , how could I run A small Alesis mixer for more input, or can it be done , I’m seventy years old,so I’m looking for something as simple as possible. Thanks, Sorry I didn’t realize this review was four years old, how’s it holding up?
It's worked great for me. I ended up selling it last year when I upgraded my speakers. It was working fine but I needed something for my bigger gigs. You can add the small mixer to it to get more inputs. Just connect the outputs of the mixer to the input channels of the speaker.
Just got one and the sound is pretty awesome. Will work with it for now and later grab another pair
Glad to hear it. Mine is still going strong with no issues. I definitely got my monies worth out of it.
Great review!!
I just purchased the speakers how much is the covers you sell?
What do you think about running these with the yorkville elite 18in
The Yorkville will probably over power the Harbinger but if that's what you have then it could work. You would just have to be careful not to drown out the Harbinger.
will this work for outdoor projector
Yes, you can connect this to a projector.
Where did the term master and slave come from when combining 2 speakers?
Good question. I don't know the answer; but the "master/slave" terminology has been used in many different situations. When connecting lighting fixtures using the DMX protocol, you have to designate a Master and Slave lights. I work in IT and and when I am cloning hard drives, one drive is referred to as the master and the target disks are referred to as slaves. In real estate the biggest bedroom is called the master bedroom or master suite. Only recently has there been a shift in that industry to stop using the "Master" terminology. All I know is it's not just an audio technology thing.
Cool 💯💯💯👏
Would you recommend for keyboard players?
Yes this would be perfect for a keyboard player. The built in mixer let's you connect your keyboard, a mic and a third sound source which can even be a bluetooth device. Plenty of power and very durable.
@@logisticalstyles thanks
harbinger do they have fans on them for cooling?
Jerry Renda these don’t have fans.
I'd like info about covers for the 2315 models
I’ve stopped making the covers. I never have time to keep up with the orders. Check out my video where I show you an easy way to make your own for very little money.
how well can it withstand prolonged bass?
I had that speaker up until last year when I sold it to buy a battery powered Mackie. It was used as a rental for over a year and it still worked great after all these years. It’s a very durable speaker.
How can I connect this speaker to 5years old tv, for karaoke
If the TV has an audio output you can run a cable from the TV's output to the speaker. You will probably have to use some kind of adapter cable. It just depends on what kind of outputs the TV has.
Does Power chord come with it?
Yes, it does include the power cord.
How can I purchased 15 speaker cover?
How is this speaker after a year??
Still loving it and using it frequently. I rent it out a lot, and I use it for my ceremony and cocktail hour systems.
Is anybody using one (or two) of these to power a digital guitar amp modeler?
I just bought one through Guitar Center App, i want to use it with my Line 6 Pod Hd, i hope it will be useful with it
Are these speakers good for metal screaming??? If someone can answer asap that would be real cool
Probably not. These aren't meant to be pushed to the limit. Metal screaming sounds like it would be too harsh on the highs.
Is this good for a singer in a band?
Depends on the size of the band and the venues they perform. It's good for a musician and a vocalist, but not for a 3 or 4 piece band. It can be used as a monitor with a band.
@@logisticalstyles thanks man!

@@logisticalstyles how much ate you covers for this speaker?
put a good sub to the speaker and you probably never have to clip it....Bass eats up most of the juice.
I agree. I haven't had a need to push this speaker since I've had it. I think most people have trouble with entry level speakers when they try to push them too hard.
Abdon Rodriguez how do you add a sub? Would you need an external amp/receiver or could you just connect it to the built in amp?
@@ProvacativeAcorn depends on the equipment you have.. if you have speakers with amps already on them you go from your controller to the sub then out to your speaker...
Saludos tocayo.

It doesn’t

Still waiting on that speaker cover video 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Here you go... ua-cam.com/video/AbkPo_yuE0w/v-deo.html
How many people would you say this would sound good in front of?
It really depends on the event. If you are talking about a party then I would say a pair of these will work for for 100 people or less. Even then I would recommend having a sub to handle the low end. I use this as a ceremony and cocktail hour speaker. I also rent it out to people that just need sound for a spoken word event or something similar.
Can you add a subwoofer?
Independent Sign yes, you can easily add a subwoofer
Does Harbinger have a website?
I think it is harbingerproaudio.com
I need 2 speaker covers
350 watts…rms, it’s alright. 🤨
Zoom,..yes, zoom in next time
This is why places go outta business.... lol .... equipment rental.
Question please , if I would to swap those woofers for a more quality or more expensive brand , would that be an issue with the built in amp it has on the back or will it work
I'm not sure how well that would improve the sound. I've never tried it. I don't think it would be worth it unless you have a speaker that is already in need of a replacement. In that case I would check out Parts Express.com to see what they have available to closely match what came with the original speaker.
