Trouble with islands is that we dont have all these fast food places; just chick fillae, taco bell, jersey mikes& subway,& starbucks. Also, our ihop doesnt honor mainland discounts or perks so.. still trying to figure out how to hack to save on what we do have here, with tax& shipping everything raises prices double than you guys on the mainland anyways. At this point, my husband & i dont order appetizers or desert,& only drink free waters at restaurants&; if its a sit down resturant, we try to share a plate of pasta if portions are huge. Food trucks portions here on maui are small,& thus its actually more expensive than a sit down, esp. if youre just sharing a pizza- BUT- it depends where you go. Alot of resturants have made portions smaller to keep from raising prices.
