The way Zack masterfully drums AND he's the creative director of this band gives me hope on me becoming a drummer and get involved in the creative process
Just realized they play an excerpt of Bitch Please in the beginning. They did that in a lot of their early shows so they must’ve been working on that one for some time.
***** Well, you can measure it off harmony or discord, complexity and simplicity, sounds that are "clean" or "dirty". In the end it does come down to human opinion though.
i mean.ok...you're trying to say he's overplaying. but his style is BUSY and that is working for him. there have been a lot of musicians over the years, minimalists---and "note-y" and we love them all.
@Obscure128 It's his style and he's been in a lot of bands including Hella from way back in the day and to be honest he brings energy and feeling just like the other two in the band thats what seperates them from everyother act that sounds the fucking same. Go watch Drake in concert if you want some shit like that.
+66werewolf Double kicks are for people content to have a weak right foot and huge kits just serve as a distraction from mediocre drumming. Jordison is an impressive technician, but he has contributed nothing to the art form. Just another metalcore show-off.
66werewolf Zach is way way way better than Joey. Ask any person who actually drums. Chris Adler, Joey Jordison are all very overrated. Heck Danny Carey, Mike Portnoy, John Bonham, Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, I can name a dozen drummers better than Joey Jordison.
but their styles vary greatly, and you can't really compare different styles, no one style is better than another, that's why there's so many, to appear to different audiences
They're doing it to work on the second album. While I enjoyed Exmillitary and The Money Store it'll be interesting to see what they do with No Love given that TMS has gotten as much acclaim as it has. Who knows what MC Ride will put out lyrically and what Zach Hill and Flatlander will do. Plus they'll most likely tour on that album so I'm not too worried. Hopefully they don't cancel a Toronto show for the third time lol
I know everyone is hating on you, but I know what you're saying. While it doesn't detract from Death Grips for me, I feel like if he would expose his knowledge of rudiments in a more "graspable" way, it would reveal another layer to his sound. But alas, he is who he is, and he is amazing at what he does.
yeah, its live hiphop. and now "live hiphop" includes drum solos and fills. dont confuse names, definitions and "what it should be like" with what you expected and with what you wanted it to be. live hiphop without drum solos and live hiphop with drum solos is both equally live hiphop. theres not a problem at all. if you dont like it, then dont like it. thats ok and good that way. but dont try to give it another name or force your expectations onto it only because you dont like it.
I remember saying the same thing listening to him play for Team Sleep. He's doing way too much, if it starts affecting your consistency, you need to tone it down.
Zach Hill is an unbelievable drummer.
Sloppy.
LOL watch Hella live, then call him sloppy.
@@sparrowhawk81 lol no
This beast is the driving force behind Death Grips.
He is sloppy on the outside but who knows if he is like a monster on the inside.
The way Zack masterfully drums AND he's the creative director of this band gives me hope on me becoming a drummer and get involved in the creative process
Good luck for you, i hope you can reach your dream. You can do it!
do it bro
I play drums too and yeah it’s pretty awesome if you get to be creative with more than just the drums
That is an incredible epic drumming Zack Hill does in this performance, especially in the beginning and end of the song.
AGREED. Gotta catch them live, ESPECIALLY after "The Money Store" drops. Death Grips FTW.
this comment is legend
This comment is insane
this comment single-handedly made my love for death grips 10% stronger
Brittany Brave are you alive?
A true UA-cam comment.
3:50 fills me with joy
i actually jumped out of my fucking chair oh my god
so precious
Teamwork
Max hello andy morin
They reenacted that part during their first tour stop in Portland!
So there appears to be part of the sample/whatever sound that was used in Bitch Please in this video, a year before The Money Store came out. Cool.
if you listen closely you can hear a Bitch, Please sample in the first few seconds of the Takyon video
at the end of the Zach Hill solo they just kinda play it
cool indeed
This is so fucking awesome Zach is truly a legend along with Ride and Andy
3:53
TDWE that POINT though
+CosmicDayz I fucking love that.
That's so fucking surreal.
shit.
erryday yui
The way MC Ride mmoves with Andy makes the beat seem like it's slowing everything down in a really cool way like boooooaaaawwwwww.
that dude backstage checking his phone is so wack
davecoyle1 was he whimpering too
Maybe he's part of the crew? In which case he's seen them perform hundreds of time. Loses it's magic after a while I would guess.
1:48 holy shit that fukin pause and drop is so brutal dude
I love when the Zach Hills drums intense like always, when it's mixed with Andy's keyboard and MC Ride's hand movements, it makes it seem so cool haha
zach hill would have to be the fittest man alive
Best part about it was the drummer breaking his shit in the intro.
so psyched to see em in manchester this year
See you there
Seeing them in Cologne, so stoked
seeing them at both London dates
***** They did a show in london and glasgow in 2012 so as a fan since 2013 im very stoked
i think the drumming compliments the music perfectly. his drumming is very chaotic and thats exactly how the music is. even on the mixtape.
zach hill is so good at what he does, never missing those snare hits on 2 and 4 and still being a fucking boss in between during the songs.
'it's gonna be fun fun fun fun fun fun FUN FUN FUN' Kazoo Kid
I actually think Zach does a pretty good job at maintaining the groove with all the added drum parts he does live, I feel it.
me when I'm playing rockband on drums before the song begins : 0:09
Literally the best rapper alive
I saw Ride wearing a red tank top in one video. That's the only one I've ever seen him wear besides the black one.
Just realized they play an excerpt of Bitch Please in the beginning. They did that in a lot of their early shows so they must’ve been working on that one for some time.
I feel I could really pick up this style in concert, I liked it on the alubm would be badass to see in person
Hideo Kojima background fear.
dude that's definitely him
"triple six, five, forked tongue!!!!!"
1:07
My whole life,
My whole fuckin life played on the drums
The dude in the orange hoodie in the back is a pretty good drummer too
Zach Hill is a friggin beast on those drums
RIP. this is fucking great.
he's actually been homeless for quite a while.
not anymore
As it should be. yes.
That drummer is BOSS
saw this shit at coachella.. i haven't felt that alive in years
Thumbs up if you're here because of the Rachel Ray Show
Gotta love zach
im standing in the back on the far left
dude nice
congrats
You can hear a faint sample from what would be Bitch Please during his solo in the beginning.
when ride is covered with sweat under that lighting looks like he just came out of a pile of bodies
is it me or is flatlander playing the sample of bitch please when Zach is doing his solo?
cut that awful intro of all your videos please
No. Listen to better music.
keepitwolfson music is 100 percent opinion though
***** Well, you can measure it off harmony or discord, complexity and simplicity, sounds that are "clean" or "dirty". In the end it does come down to human opinion though.
keepitwolfson plebeian detected
+waterzofnazareth cut.
I hear it, too.
Triple Six FIve Four!! Duuuuuhhh!!!
Triple six five forked tongue
What a fantastic drum performance these guys all went to see. Not sure what the deal was with the sweaty shirtless dude screaming into the mic tho
He hats like Copeland and toms like NO ONE WHO EVER LIVED.
no please his pants are perfect shopping for pants is hard
Zach Hill, seriously needs to hear the fucking song or the click track while he's playing because he's too original to fly off tempo this many times
This is hell
I'm interested
crazy man
@moralreef I was talking about the AmericanAftermath intro. but I got the song title. thanks anyways
3:50 gives me light
i mean.ok...you're trying to say he's overplaying. but his style is BUSY and that is working for him. there have been a lot of musicians over the years, minimalists---and "note-y" and we love them all.
jimi hendrix, of course
@TERRORDACTYL667 I agree, man. I actually ended up seeing OF the day after this.
0:33 Rest in Peace, Stick.
ITGOESITGOESITGOESYAEH!
@Obscure128 It's his style and he's been in a lot of bands including Hella from way back in the day and to be honest he brings energy and feeling just like the other two in the band thats what seperates them from everyother act that sounds the fucking same. The drumming is... WOW.
The ones that have seen footage.
@Bigtryan i don't see why you're comparing two completely different rap styles, it's like comparing apples to pears or some shit
zACH REALLY OPENS THE PORTAL!
and what about joey jordisson dudes ........ ?
+66werewolf Double kicks are for people content to have a weak right foot and huge kits just serve as a distraction from mediocre drumming. Jordison is an impressive technician, but he has contributed nothing to the art form. Just another metalcore show-off.

FIVE FORKED TONGUE!!!
Yo the pattern at 4:49
When I seen them in Dublin Zach wasn't there!!
i'm convinced mc ride has only one pair of pants
but their styles vary greatly, and you can't really compare different styles, no one style is better than another, that's why there's so many, to appear to different audiences
jesus christ those drums didn't deserve that
and shirt
its an internet clip, not a soapbox.
Zach hill comes from the band hella so that's his style of drummer so no i don't think he doesn't need to back off.
he's in some deep legal trouble shit
id like to know what pair of pants those are
what was the intro song please

Little did you know that The Money Store would in fact be peak death grips.
@@matthewhill5895naw, the money store was good but Bottomless Pit did better IMHO
why doesn't that third guy tour with them anymore?
Well that was lovely drumming but what did Mr Ride say?
is that fucking hideo kojima in the orange shirt?
but they're both hip hop bands liked by a lot of people who don't usually like hip hop
Im not into this at all but i really enjoy watching the drummer.
oh so he actually drinks water
Internet sarcasm is difficult.
Forked Tongue
Reminds me of Black Flag Rollin Era
Fuck yes vimana! !!
I know everyone is hating on you, but I know what you're saying. @GiantDoucheNG because they're two different things buddy
yeah, its live hiphop. and now "live hiphop" includes drum solos and fills. dont confuse names, definitions and "what it should be like" with what you expected and with what you wanted it to be. live hiphop without drum solos and live hiphop with drum solos is both equally live hiphop. theres not a problem at all. if you dont like it, then dont like it. thats ok and good that way. but dont try to give it another name or force your expectations onto it only because you dont like it.
has mc ride ever done a show with a shirt on?
Once in a tuxedo
Apples and pears are actually pretty similar.
I remember saying the same thing listening to him play for Team Sleep. He's doing way too much, if it starts affecting your consistency, you need to tone it down.
Rock music seems like guitar solos with vocals interspersed with ocassional drum solos
Same.. AGH
Really? Any idea on specifics? The reason of him being in jail :O?
the ending sounds a bit like hustle bones
Do you listen to death grips?
what was the intro song :o
the intro to "Bitch Please"
@GiantDoucheNG i'm not saying they don't so.. your arguement is invalid
oops ee! Thought there was music here~ W R O N G! BEAT DOWN! o k a ee! ADVIL time, tank u MR. DEATH GRIPS ~ REAL COOL~!
How did i get heeerya?!
And no shirts.
