Hey! Came here from MrMobile but I've been watching your Android Authority content for years! Your content is relaxing and great and I love the reviews you put out, cheers!
My friend you are tech inspector, I really the depth of explanation and care to details, indeed starting your own channel was courageous desigeion plus leaving ur comfort zone ; but it really was necessary step that made you shine today...Bravo :)
big fan of u since android authority . very happy to see ur own channel since beginning . I always like channels where there are few subs bcz i can tell my friends about the content they cant find in floodded channels . btw came here to write this comment to appreciate ur work and make more friends like Michael Fishers to give | give away like him
I bought the original Volta cables and I've completely bought into the ecosystem. Every device and every cable I have uses the original volta plug types. I've bought into a different system for 20V USB-C devices (like switch, mac, etc). But I'd like to give this new Volta version a try on those devices.
Just subbed, I remember you from the pocketnow days and I already enjoy the pocketnow podcast which you host. Your channel is just as good, should have subbed a long time ago
Great review Joshua! Been using their 1st Generation Volta Cable (2 cables 2 tips + 2 extra tips) for almost 2 years now. Very very happy in backing up this project. One cable I use at home and one in the office. And I share the same issues with you as I carry multiple devices. Sometimes I need to charge 2 devices and I need to remove the tip and use other cable instead. I recently ordered/backed up the new Volta Spark and bought the VIP x3 pack. Hopefully, that fixes the problem already hahaha :)
Hi Sobuz, we will be making the cable available on our website soon. You should subscribe to our newsletter so you can know when we have it on the website - voltacharger.com/
I have been following you since android authority days,,your review of gadget is on point..hope your channel grow more and hope you reach millions and millions followers fast like Mr Mobile..❤️👍
Man, I've spent a boat load on these magnetic cables from sites like shopee and lazada. I never learned my lesson. "But one good cable rather than cheap ones every two months or so." 😂
Hey I've been watching Mr. Mobile videos for over two years and your collab videos were so amazing that I had to come here follow you too!!! Great job!! ☺️☺️☺️
Hey Josh, you're still one of the best tech reviewers out there. Right from the days of Android Authority to making your individual channel. Your channel is another name for quality content. Keep up the good work Josh. Much love from India. X
I wonder, does it support One Plus charging standard? I am subscribed to AA and your reviews were my favourite! Somehow lost you when you left AA. Found you again thanks to a Mr mobile! Thanks for the great content and looking forward for more!
I have used the Volta 2.0 cable for 2 years. I recently purchased the Spark 60w and the tips don't fit snug like the Volta 2.0 ones did. With the Volta 2.0, I had to use the tool to take out the tips, with the Spark 60W tips on some devices I can pull the tip out with the magnetic cord, others easily pull out with my hand. It is sad because I want a PD system and the tips for the spark are useless. If you want a magnetic cord system get the Volta 2.0 because the spark just won't stay in place. Older tips could hold the phone upside down and the tip would stay in place. Seems they missed the every mark with the Spark system. Which is sad, I am about to throw out $80 worth of cords and tips because it is just not usable if it won't stay in place.
I've been using magnetic cables that have a feature where instead of sticking straight out like a normal cable it can bend at angle and also swing around. So putting it in a back won't disconnect the cable. This is something that has existed for years. I honestly don't see anything new that Volta is adding.
Hi Patelivision, VOLTA is different from those other magnetic cables due to the stronger magnetic connections between our cables and tips, we offer lifetime warranty on all our cables as well. We aren't the originator of the tech, but we have improved on it. We have the right angle magnetic cable. You can check here for it - voltacharger.com/products/right-angle-cable-2-0
@@christopherbeltran5020 Not really. It's a whole different cable. The VOLTA Spark has a USB-C on one end and a magnetic adapter of the other end, where you can use a USB-C, Micro-USB, or Lightning Tip. The VOLTA 2.0 is a USB-A Cable.
@@christopherbeltran5020 Technically speaking, it's not only that. The VOLTA Spark is compatible with Power Delivery. That means you can use it with PD devices such as laptops, newer iPad Pro with USB-C ports, and MacBooks. Whilst the VOLTA 2.0 is not compatible with Power Delivery.
I used some magnetic cables in the past, but it was a hassle when I needed to unplug it to use a dongle for earphones to be on a long call and no wireless earphones weren't charged
I just had to send my LG V60 in for warranty repair because the USBC port in the phone stopped working. I wonder if using a magnetic system can help prevent damage to Micro or USB C ports, or if it causes more?
Does it work on phones that requires proprietary cables, like Oneplus phones, to trigger dash/warp charging? Im betting it doesnt, so it's useless for me.
Idk if i understood your question correctly but the cable can charge up to 100W with the type C tip. i don't know how dash/warp charging works and until now i thought it's just another name for fast charging.
Hi Ben, it doesn't support dash charging. You can however consider our VOLTA 2.0 (the 5V version) that supports both Warp and Dash Charging - voltacharger.com/products/volta-2-0
I know this video is 2 years old, but I'm curious what you did for Android Auto. Most cars have USB A and the Volta Spark is USB C only and the tips are not compatible with the older Volta tips. Did you just use an adapter for USB A to C?
at 3:25 seconds. Sorry im new to the channel. he uses this 4 usb c hub. what is the name of it, im interested in it, because i need a usb c hub with more then 2 ports.
This review made me really interested in this product... I always seem search for micro B cables while my phone is Type C, This would fix all my problems :D
Joshua Vergara is definitely underrated. I've been following him since his early days at Android Authority and trust me no other reviewer is easier to understand than him. Hope he gets to a million soon with this @mrmobile giveaway
5:00 It really bugs me that they don't have any comparisons on their website. I've even asked customer support what the different between 2.0 and Spark is (beyond the higher wattage). I've not heard from them for over half a year. I've actually had pretty mixed experiences with their support. A package once got lost in shipping twice and they didn't hesitate to send out a new one every time. On the other hand, I've asked them for a refund or exchange for a broken product under warranty and they simply ignored my emails. Overall, I like Volta but I feel like they have a lot of things to work out in terms of marketing and support.
im a big fan of magnetic cables,i was a WSKEN fan but it doesnt work with my iPhone 12 Pro Max.i googled magnetic cables and Volta appeared.ordered the 2.0 and Spark and they work great.will be buying more in the future.
I've been watching you since the old Android Authority days. Your review on the Note 5 propelled me to buy one. Keep the great work running my man! More power to you

Hi Gelo, we are very glad to have you as a loyal customer.
Have you been using it with an iPhone? Do you think it has degraded the battery health of the phone as compared to charging with an original cable?
Nice content, looking forward for more
Doing a great job watching u since you were on Android authority

Sounds like a OnePlus problem instead of a Volta problem. It's not their fault companies are making these kind of restrictions.
