‼UPDATE FOR ADOBE AUDITION USERS ‼- I have made it easier than ever before to work with tricky audio. My brand new Audition presets are out now. One click to GREAT sound :) Check them out here: mrc.fm/presets This is a great way for you to support my channel too 🙏🙏🙏
Great job... I had forgot how to set up that side chain for ducking. It was a good reminder I saved your video LOL. When you don't use it you lose it :-).
There is an even easier way you could do this effect as well if you click on the music track select the music and then click on the central sound panel locate the music section and click on duck against everything
I'm just lowering the volume on the background music track in audition and have fade in and outs, but mine is meant to be subtle/ambient, and I can see this technique would be useful for something more energetic.
Abernathy farm sells most of the settlement building items, and she's basically just west of Concord. She sells Cloth, concrete, Wood, and fertilizer. Only lacking in the steel department.
Hey Mike! What to do when the music is louder than the voice? Do you increase the volume for the voice or reduce it for the music? Or do you normalise the voice first?
@@MikeRussell That looked almost comprehensible to an antique like me. Are you near Kalamazoo? I would feed you and house you as long as it takes to learn all of the functions.... Interested? Great Mike. Please make a video on using a Reverb and delay effect using Send button. Also how can we EQ only the Reverb and not affecting any other effect on the vocal chain.
Don't worry, audio mixing can be complex at first, but with a little practice and guidance from tutorials, you'll be able to make your vocals stand out in no time! Keep experimenting and you'll get the hang of it! 😊
Thank yo for helping me...pretty seasoned Premiere editor, trying to tech myself Audition so i don't send so much audio work out. I thought one time you mentioned a way to bring in your Own audio sound effects library? We have a few hundred gig's of foleys and looking if i can have that list available ot me in Audition? thanks again, im getting this amazing program bit by bit.
@@MikeRussell Thank you ..yes i 'thought' i saw you doing this once the folder was loaded you were able to arrow down and have it play as you did? ( we just have a HUGE foley library which we kept the old APPLE SOUNDTRACK around for as it pre caches all 500 gigis and let us search and play on the fly and i cant seem to reproduce the same functionality. Someone said Resolve can do it)
@@MikeRussell Mike- i was a dolt...i dient see the AUTO PLAY button...thanks!!!! I am an experienced Premiere editor but new and loving Audition thanks for the help.
Hi Mike. Help. I don't have the "set side chain input" icon on my dynamic processing box/window I only have the 2 options "shows help for this effect" and "switches to channel map editor" icons. Just the other day it was there and I used it. Today it has disappeared from where its usually located.
Hi Mike When I use multi track to mix the dialogues (Mono files), i put limit for all the tracks on -12DB, But when I export the files to a .wav, the places that two tracks were on each other make's loud sound (more than -12DB) . Can you help me how to fix this problem please?
That would make perfect sense to me. Two tracks combining would be the combined levels of both tracks. If you don't want to exceed -12db I would suggest putting the hard limiter on the master track.
Audition 3.0 is still a solid bit of software but it's now 12 years out of date so I'd recommend upgrading to Creative Cloud for the latest version and latest features

Try using essential sound ducking where you can adjust the duck amount and fade times
@@MikeRussell Cheers, I'll have a look.
Brilliant tips! Thanks Mike!

Now I love it even more!

Hello 👋 Do you have an introductory clip on How to master Radio jingle After Mix down. Thank you so much brother.

That's great information.

Hey Mike! What to do when the music is louder than the voice? Do you increase the volume for the voice or reduce it for the music? Or do you normalise the voice first?
I would suggesting use match loudness to even the music and voice and then use a side chain compressor to duck the music with the voice

When you set up some echo, delay, reverb effects they allow you to EQ the effect.
Pure gold. Thanks Mike!

your video is going over my head. I suppose I should watch a few of your tutorials. This isn't as easy as I thought it would be XD

great video brother. will definitely employ this technique from now on

You can point the media browser to where your media is stored and you’ll then be able to audition the media and bring in what you want.

Easy in Audition, point the media browser to your folder and click the auto play button.

You’re welcome 👍
Very useful, thanks!

Mike, what Izotope plugin would be most effective for this task? thank you sir
For effectively mixing voiceover with music and achieving vocal prominence in seconds, consider trying iZotope’s Ozone 10 Advanced.
How do enhance voiceover track at the same level? Now the voiceover change db level in every sentences. thanks
I feel ya! Those db changes can be a pain. Try using a compressor or just leveling it out in post. You got this!
Thanx! This info is long time needed... for me. :) Is there any similar solution in Premiere Pro?
If you want granular control of your audio editing I'd suggest using Adobe's dynamic link to work with your Premiere Pro audio in Audition
Thanks!
You bet!

You could check for updates or try resetting Audition to factory defaults
Well done but can I get it with audacity😢😢 don't have this paid one.
Yep and I have Audacity tutorials on my channel too!
Learning a lot from your channel Mike. Thanks..!
👍
Do y’all have a video on how to do a mashup?
There are videos on mixing music in Audition on the channel
Why set the side chain to MONO as opposed to STEREO? Does that make the music MONO?
The vocal recording is mono. Unless you're using a Blue Yeti or something like a 3dio mic your voice will be mono so all you need is a mono sidechain
simple and amazing 🔥
I want ask, How to do that on premiere pro ?
You could use Essential Sound to achieve this in Premiere Pro
How do I get the vocal enhancer effect for music but in logic or final cut pro?
These are native features within Adobe Audition
As you are only working with 2 tracks why not use the multi-track Dj Voice Over setting, that automatically ducks.

Mike do you speed up your videos by a small percentage? i thought i still had my video playback speed set to 1.5x. Spill the deets…
Hi Charlotte, I can confrim the videos are at normal speed, no speeding up going on here
@@MikeRussell Mad respect. Can't thank you enough for the information you provide!

Which software?
Adobe Audition
that was cool

why dont u mention the name of an app
Most audio people would recognise Adobe Audition so no point in teaching people to suck eggs.
@@MikeRussell but there are beginers too right? who comes to ur channel to take a start..and for tht an app name shud be mentiond...thanks any way.❤
