Flat white = 2 shot coffee filled with latte milk, tiniest bit of froth
Cortado = 2 short coffee filled with milk, no froth
Cappuccino = regular shot with milk & thick frothy top
Latte = regular shot with milk & thin layer of froth
Espresso = just simply coffee, no milk
Americano = regular shot with water filled (no milk)

I’m a trained barista and a cappuccino and latte have equal amounts of milk however it’s on how much froth there is. The easiest way to put it is that a cappuccino is essentially A LOT of frothed milk , a little milk and coffee, whereas a latte has little to no froth, it’s consistency should have no bubbles. A flat white is obviously a smaller coffee but usually made with double milk and a similar consistency to a latte !!

A former costa barista here to spilt the tea (or coffee)✌️ They are all usually the same ratio of milk to coffee but...
A latte - is wet milk with not very strong coffee in
A cappuccino - is airy/foamy milk with more coffee in
A flat white - is thick textured milk with very strong and powerful tasting coffee in
uhm no? the ratio of milk to coffee is definitely not the same! a latte is generally one shot of espresso + loads of milk; a cappuccino is one shot of espresso with less milk than a latte; flat white can vary from coffee shop to coffee shop but is usually two shots of espresso + same amount of milk as a cappuccino (so the coffee to milk ratio is higher)
@@xilovebarcelona I meant compared to a cortado or americano. I was trying to make it as simple to read as possible. But you're right it does depend on coffee shop, but they are usually around the same ratio, a small latte, cappuccino and flat white should take the same amount of milk poured into a milk jug. The latte would get a one shot and the cappa would get two. But if you are putting an espresso shot into a flat white it's NOT A FLAT WHITE! Ristretto shots only!!! but how much harder would that have been to explain to someone that doesn't know coffee??😅

Latte is 1/3 espresso 2/3 milk - Capp is 1/3 espresso 1/3 milk 1/3 froth - Flat White is 1/2 espresso 1/2 milk but zero froth so it’s flat, missed out on your Nicki studios collection as I was poorly in hospital but bought the entire collection in spirit! Love you guys 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Latte - espresso shot, milk with a small layer of foam
Cappuccino - espresso shot, milk with a larger layer of foam and chocolate sprinkle on top
Flat white - called “white” because a white coffee means with milk (opposite of a black coffee) should have a slightly stronger shot with a smaller amount of milk with no foam (hence the flat)
Black coffee - espresso with water
Americano - black coffee with milk on the side (hot or cold)
When I went to Belize my wheels on my suitcase didn’t fall off but they were really squint and my suitcase kept tipping sideways so annoying when ur suitcase gets demolished 🙄🙄🙄 watching from Costa Rica but from England currently I’m 14 and currently travelling with my mum dad and younger brothers and sister!!! i’m a barista and basically the only difference between a latte and a cappuccino is there is more foam on top of a cappuccino along with chocolate on the top, then a flat white is basically a stronger latte because it is served in a smaller cup with the same amount of coffee but less milk
i really should be going to sleep seeing as i have to wake up for school at 6.50 but instead i'm just going to binge watch you guys.
Cappuccino is super aerated (so it’s got a little bit of steamed milk with lots of foam) latte is proportionally more steamed milk with less foam (the foam is also less bubbly, it’s much silkier) and a flat white is a small latte (so it’s stronger) HA I hate that I know that, life of a barista !

Girls you should really read into everything about the red light district. I just heard on this podcast, that so many girls working there are actually victims of human and sex-trafficking. They are basically on hard drugs every time they are working, raped every night and beaten up if they dont follow the pimps rules. A girl from Newcastle was tricked into thinking she had gotten a job in Amsterdam, but was actually kidnapped when she arrived and was forced into prostitution. She experienced sooo many horrible things like seeing some of the other girls get killed if they didnt do what they were told to. Luckily she escaped and even wrote the book "Slave Girl" but so many other girls are suffering everyday from this...
you girls... are all right when it comes to the espresso drinks btw! the variance of milk/foam ratio is determined by personal preference of taste! cappuccino is less milk, more foam. latte is more milk; less foam. Flat white is foam incorporated in the milk; creating the creamiest drink (my fav). so thats the point in different drinks hehe. love you girlsss

I work in a coffee shop and a flat white is basically a latte in a cup and a cap is basically a latte with foam on the top and sometimes chocolate. There isn't really any difference and we don't change the amount of coffee in each coffee unless a customer asks for more,(a double). Never felt sooo clever about coffee ahahahahahahah

A latte is flat milk. A cappuccino has "foamy" milk and chocolate powder on top. Visit Australia - we have the best coffee!
the coffee names have nothing to do with milk but the foam!!! So a flat white has basically no foam, a latte has a little bit and a cappachino is the frothiest/ foamiest xxx

Cap has the most foam and chocolate on top- the purpose is to be stronger as less milk and more foam. Latte is the weakest with the most milk and foam, a flat white is pretty much the strength of a cap without the foam, hence the flat😂❤️

Flat white: shot espresso, topped up with foamy/silky milk (small mug!)
Cappuccino: shot espresso, topped up with lots of stiff foam with choc sprinkles on top (large mug)

Coffee time:
Latte- coffee shot with hot milk, bit of foam
Flat white- smaller, only comes in one size, coffee shot and hot milk but milk is heated in a way that makes the milk spin and prevents foam, hence the flat
Cappuccino- coffee and milk, more foam than a latte, can have chocolate on top
Americano- water based coffee and is more like tea in terms of milk ratio, black americano has no milk and white americano has cold milk added like a tea

Latte & cappuccino have the same amount of milk to espresso ratio. BUT latte has 1cm of foam and cappuccinos have 2cm of foam.
Flat white is 1 and half shots of espresso with half a cm of foam.

That coffee chat was hilarious 😂 a cappuccino is coffee, froth then milk. (It has more froth than a laté) A laté is milk, froth then coffee poured in last slowly. And a flat white is coffee then literally just hot milk poured in with no froth though! Hopefully that cleared up the discrepancy 🤣

Cappuccino has more coffee in it that a latte! Lattes mostly foam, and a flat white is stupid, its basically a cappuccino but you pour the foam in first instead of coffee hahaha hope this helped!! love you both xoxoxo

A cappuccino does have more foam so that means you use less milk so it’s stronger I think! I was a barista for a year and there’s so many different types of drinks! x
