1978 Superskates - Katherine Healy - Papillon (Choreographed by John Curry)

In 1978, aged 9, the brilliant Katherine Healy performed at the annual charity event SuperSkates, which was started in 1974 and took place at Madison Square Garden. Here John Curry discusses her talent and potential before Katherine takes to the ice to perform Papillon, a piece which John choreographed for her and which she also later performed in John production, Ice Dancing.

Tiny ballerina, I wonder how far she would have gone, if she had put dance aside, and continued to compete. I loved watching her as an adult. The grace and extension is extraordinary!❤
