Just discovered now that he had passed away in 2018. Spent a good chunk of my childhood in the late 80's and most of the 90's watching his films, and several would always be playing on overhead TV's in the ski chalet in rural midwest at the resort I learned at. Time passes quickly. I haven't skied much in the last decade but I would like to get back into it, before my bones get soft and my muscles can't take the pain without too much consequence.
What an absolute legend. Glad he was here to explain freedom to us. There's always another generation that needs to know about it and it's becoming more critical than ever.
Thank you, Warren Miller. As a little kiwi kid in the 80s, I'd wait with excitement for the annual showing of a Warren Miller flick! You handed out a ride and paved the way to my adventures in the mountains.
I bought a hardbody pathfinder because of this man! I called it ski bum! I still ski bum in a van from dec 27 to closing day, and I'm 55! It was the least I could do for someone that gave so much!
The voice. Its his voice. Takes me back to watching his films with my dad, and my brother, then going out skiing in Vermont, and enjoying every second of it. God I miss his voice!!!
THE WARREN AFFECT A wise voice unseen That floating narrative that descended from mythical mountains Your films triggered a cadence within…as consistent as the calendar Stunning visuals and stories…stimulate a deep, unknown yearning for adventure It is coming… Make time for it… Train your body for it… Savior & celebrate every turn, every snow fall, every ache afterwards How much did you impact my decision to leave the Midwest and make a life in the Mountains 30 years ago? You made yourself symbiotic with skiing.... ~Bartholomew Bruns #WarrenMiller #Legend #IfYouDontDoItThisYearYoullBeOneYearOlderWhenYouDo #ski #mountains

I came here just to hear his voice! I was in Utah during the 80's and of course we'd go watch his movie at the local college auditorium every year.
