Yup. Went in on my 2011 just like this. Thank you. I forgot to charge my drill, so I was just using a socket wrench, but it still only took 20 minutes end to end. Please note that the dust cover has to be pried off with a screwdriver.

FYI if you have the metal tailgate handle you need to use an additional metal scissor latch inside for the lock to work. I just installed this on a 99 Ranger with the metal handle. PL2300

do you have to remove the 2 latches attached to the yellow pieces or can you just unbolt the 2 bolts and do it without unlaching the 2 yellow parts

Is that silver lock piece supposed to be at a certain direction before installing the pop and lock/handle combo back in? Literally had to disassemble mine about 4 times cause nothing was locking the handle

I wish that they made one that worked with actual ranger ignition key. Locks can be designed in such a way to self key itself when the chamber is fully rotated. I saw one for a chevy silverado.

The problem with that in this application is the lock cylinder is too shallow to fit a truck key. It has to be a pretty shallow key for this lock and this tiny tailgate.

I've detached the rods but can't undo the screws that hold it into place. They turn but don't undo. Any advice?

Yah but no the lock barley locks and if you pull on the handle in the locked position it’s easy openable still
